Hello! A friend of mine owns a SE Xperia X10i. A few days ago he forgot to put the phone on charge and it stopped. Since then he has not managed to start the phone. A red LED flashes briefly three times but the screen lights up. What could he do? Please note that he previously installed a custom rom, but I don't know what rom.
Charge the phone to wall charger 2-3 hours the phone will start and then keep it charging...
The phone does not want to charge ... Red LED flashes 3 times, but nothing appears on display

Right, so iv had my X10 for 6days now, the battery does drain and there is a another thread about that But,
Today using it normally, charged it this morning and throughout the day i drained the battery so its on 10% as i get home and i try to charge it but Nothing happens.
no light
no indication of charging at all
iv tried switching usb cables, also plunging it into the PC, PS3 and different outlets but the phone does not charge at all
i did update the phone through the Sony Ericsson software from the website successfully the night before if that has anything to do with it..
also i have tryd to turn off the phone then plug in the usb charger, interestingly the phone turns on without me pressing the Power button but as it reaches a point after the splash screen with the SE logo, it says please charge etc 5% left ..and as i go to check the status, it indicated the last time it was charged plugged into power was 20+ seconds ago
any help will do ..as im returning the phone to the shops tomorrow for a replacement if not a refund and nothing more,
Pull the battery for a few minutes then replace and retry.

That's not recommended if the phone has less than 50% power.

Just leave it on the charger for a few hours and see if it does anything (perhaps the charging indicator is just bugged :3)

all that would happend is the green light would turn on and nothing more, the pc would not even recognise the phone in that service mode
thanks for the suggestions anyway I think iv just had some bad luck on this one, just gave it a go when I woke up and it's just faulty I guess
I will be returning it to the shop now
I charged my phone before I went to bed last night and then left it unplugged (not charging) when I went up stairs to sleep. When I woke up this morning my phone was off, so I tried turning it on and I kept getting 3 blinking red lights on the power button. I tried it several times and it wouldn't turn on, just blinked at me. So I held the button down for about 10 seconds, after about 3 or 4 more of the 3X blinking red lights I get no response. Just that dead feeling you get when one of your electronics no longer works.
So I go down stairs and plug it in to charge and leave it for a bit, a while later I was able to turn it on. Found the battery at 2%, thought that was odd since I was at 100% when I went to bed and had the screen off all night (to my knowledge).
Is the blinking red light serious or does it just mean "your battery is so low your phone can't turn on"?
If the light blinks red it can mean several things. In your case it is not serious, i had this problem myself and i have searched for it, i found threads of people having the same issue and their phone came back to life after a few hours of charging.
So actually its just the battery being dead, it needs more charging even too show the charging progress screen lol.
In my experience the light also blinks red when you flash a firmware version of the xperia arc on your xperia play (lol XD).
The blinking red lights are an indication that your phone battery is drained and needs to be charged before the phone can switch on. There's nothing wrong with your phone.
thanks for the reassurance guys

same happend to me after flash, any idea to fix my old ultra z? I need it for testing an old app
Hello guys. Yesterday there was almost no problem there, I have used my phone normally as always. As always when my battery gone dead after work I have plugged my phone into charger and go sleep. But... at the morning the phone won't ring (eg. the alaram).
I have disconnected it and tried to start it on battery but it failed. Then I have connected it again, so then the orange light blinks few times and CWM Recovery is goint with blinking orange-green light on phone and dissappeared after few seconds, but still blinking. After few seconds it run again, sometimes with only orange light blinking like when battery's dead.
I have MIUI here and I was able to run it few times but it gone dead in ~2-3 minutes and back to CWM. If it is important, only for few seconds from connecting the phone to the charger I've got "charging" message, then it looks normally, but orange light on the phone is stable, looks like charging but MIUI don't "see" it. However, the percentage of battery is going down in seconds.
Is it just dead battery or something worse?
I have tried to wipe battery stats but nothing happened.
The phone cannot do anything when not connected to the charger.
Please help.
Is you have a multi/voltage meter you can try removing the battery and measure the voltage on the battery. Even if its discharged it should measure more than 3 volts.
If it doesnt you probably have a dead battery.

fastboot oem boot works like a charm...
But I don't understand why and what....
I always charge my cellphones turned off. So im doing the same thing with my s4 i have it for almost a month. This problem occured only 2 times after the new OTA firmware MEA update. I didnt root the phone or did anything its completly stock. So when im charging the phone the red led is on and if u press the home button it shows the battery animation and some loading dots etc etc and after few secs fades and the red led glows again. Dunno what happened today but while on charge the red led was glowing i pressed the home button and the battery didnt appear like it wasnt responding at all, i disconected the charger but the red led was still on and after a longer hold on the power button than normal dunno like 6-7 secs maybe, the phone booted and everything was normal. What can cause this thing im worried this is the second time this happens and its random it occurs on random charges it occured only 2 times till now.
Sorry for my bad english i hope you can help me out :/
