I tried root, cwm, triangle and custom rom for N7100 on my N7105. All works except for custom N7100 rom. Custom rom from N7100 if installed onto an N7105 will mess with the modem (no phone, message, data transfers but wifi still works). But flashing back N7105 modem unto a N7100 custom rom installed on an N7105 does not bring back use of modem. You need to flash a N7105 stock rom from your country to bring back the use of modem. So that kinda bring us back to square one...
The similiarities are surprisingly many. All functions are intact except for modem. All we need to do is to figure out what modules in a N7105 stock rom needs to be transplanted unto a N7105 installed with a N7100 to make the modem come back.
At first, I created a nandriod backup straight away after root. After creating the nandriod backup, I proceeded to flash a N7100 rom unto a N7105. Modems gone. After that I flashed back the nandriod backup, but modem does not come on. As nandriod backup does not backup the modem, I thought that if I simply flashed the modem extracted from stock N7105 rom onto my N7105 installed with N7100 custom rom I will regain the use of my modem. I was wrong. Modem functionality still remained elusive.

The aim of this thread is to port modem capabilities onto an N7105 so that we can do this for all roms in XDA, assuming that developers did not mess with N7100 modems. We will effectively take a N7100 custom rom and flash it on an N7105 with a few steps added to regain modem functionality. This way is much better than a segregated support for both Galaxy Note 2 types. Either this or developers can create roms with dual support for N7105 and N7100. But my way is a more proactive approach on the part of users.

Likely that ROM flashed a modem with the ROM. Was it ARHD by chance? I know they flash a modem on install which I never understood and, IMO, makes no sense.

Yes modems were flashed. I try to be as non invasive as possible to developers. I understood from my time is XDA developers that if you seriously want something, DIY. Haha.

That's what general or q&a is for lol flash your modem for your device and that should fix it. Maybe post a suggestion in that ROM thread to remove the modem flash. Again, its quite unnecessary. Coming from developing on HTC stuff, we couldn't even flash the radio stuff from recovery. Even if we could, we wouldnt too much that could go wrong if you get a bad flash or a corrupted zip.

I did the same mistake as you did.
Don't panic though.
I downloaded a stock N7105XXALIJ rom and flash it using PC odin.
Everything is back to normal. 3G, 4G, LTE, sms, mms, data all working.
Then I rooted it using this guide:

Everything is perfect so far.

No flashing N7100 was a deliberate endeavour for me. I wanted to see what screws up after flashing. The aim of this thread is to see what can us normal users do to regain modem control in an N7100 rom.
After some though I realised that it is not very feasible. As some files needs to be altered as they contain N7100 only information like build.prop. We might just need to wait for a knight in shining armour to create a N7105 rom for us....

What would probably make more sense is one of two things... 1) a "flash pack" that allows you to flash an n7100 Rom, then you flash the flash pack to put back device specific files or 2) ROM devs can build an updater-script that identifies your device and basically does that for you. So it would flash all the files that are the same, determine your device, flash device specific files. I wouldn't mind helping build you guys a flash pack, I just need to look into what files are different.

I guess it would fail. I would be surprised to see it work. Flashing a N7100 modem completely killed phone signal if flash unto an N7105.

Bleh. Well, I'm heading back to school now, gonna take me about 3 hours. If someone has fast internet, would be nice if they could download a stock N7100 tar and a stock N7105 tar and host them on dev-host, androidfilehost, or goo.im. Some place where I can actually download the damn thing. Would make things easier for me to look at when I get to school, instead of 2+ hr download times on a file I should be able to pull down in 3-5 mins.
It's still downloading... I'm going to have to look at this after class tomorrow. Will keep you guys informed
Ok so I searched and can't find anyone with this same problem. I was trying to update from an older version of cwm to cwm touch. It says it flashed succesfully ect ect. When I boot into recovery though I get what looks like some white staticky lines and the tablet continually vibrates and its seems stuck on that. I am able to power down and get into current rom though. But obviously unable to flash a new rom. What gives? I also tried flashing to twrp with gapps but that didn't work for me either.

One of things offhand with your issue.
Which bootloader are you using? It sounds like you are on the old HC bootloader. This might explain your issue.
Which version CWM did you have before?
MD
Thanks for taking care of that for me.
I'm not a total noob, but I'm not exactly sure which bootloader I used. If your able to tell me how to check I could do that.
Sadly, I can't remember which cwm version I was using. It was awhile back so I have no clue. Sorry I'm not much of a help to you or myself. If I had to take a wild guess, I think it was in the early 5's.

Like I said earlier, I was still able to get my current rom running. I opened up acer recovery and installed twrp with no problem and I am currently flashing a different rom. I will check back in a little bit and let you know how it goes.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
meh...Ok so I got twrp installed. I wipe and wipe and wipe ans then flash rom. It says it was successfully installed. When I tap reboot I get a black screen that says acer in the center, but nothing seems to be happening. I'm assuming this is what people are referring to when the say its stuck on boot screen. I have no clue how to fix it.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, 3.01 bootloader.
The problem is, you need to be on the ICS V8 bootloader. Those roms and recent CWM's need the ICS version bootloader.
I guess I shouldnt ask if you have your UID number? Cause you will need it. If you did some CWM's, it may be in the recovery files. If not, it's going to be a pain.
Try wiping again in TWRP, only this time, install a HC based rom.
MD
How do o go about finding the UID number in the recovery files?

Well, this will depend on which version of CWM you were using when you did backups.
Recoveries are kept on EXT SD, usually for example in the Clockwork folder. But, it depends which version created what. More newer versions create a UID.txt file. But it just depends on if you did any backups with some of the newer versions.
If you don't see the txt file, well, it's not good. All is not lost though.
It's possible you can install one of the ICS updates from within TWRP, if TWRP you have is able to install them.
That's why I asked if you were able to install a HC based rom.
You also may want to try finding one of the older versions of CWM, and try installing it through TWRP.
I downloaded an HC rom and placed it on root of sd. When I boat onto twrp I don't see the zip file. Not quite sure why though

Flash the v8 bootloader if u want a jb rom. Civato has a sticky in the dev forum you'll need and check the guides in my sign if u need more info how to go about it. The v8 will also flash a custom recovery at the same time....and have yr jb rom on yr sdcard ready to flash
HI guys, I'd like to post this here. Here is the latest Odin flash update I pulled from Kies and my device the other day. This is as new as it gets for Samsung Galaxy Camera. You will need Odin3 and the following files
PIT: http://d-h.st/3B3
CSC: http://d-h.st/AVe
MODEM: http://d-h.st/Nbl
PDA: http://d-h.st/U7K
Not much more to say, Hope this gets someone out of a sticky situation.
I wonder if they'll ever remember they made this device and give us another update, not necessarily a version upgrade, but give it some extra functions in the camera app.

I'm sorry, I don't understand. What do you want? You want me to whip up a CASUAL recovery installer? Or what kind of recovery.zip are you looking for? Generally you install .zips from a recovery, I wouldn't be making a ROM for the camera, but I can help to make it easier to install ROMs.

This device has received the same support as the Galaxy Note 2. So, if you read about something for GNote2, you will likely see it on this device too.
Thanks for reply. No, I'm not interested in installing ROMs. Just a standard CWR that would allow me to install zipped scripts and stuff to tweak camera. I.E. crossbreeder, etc. I installed recovery on my note 8 and added some scripts to make it run smoother and conserve battery. I've seen some recoveries out there, but there are questionable, but you have established yourself as a serious developer. That's why I asked.

Adam,
I have a GC120 that was rooted and working fine. However not realizing that the bootloader was still locked I flashed a custom rom with mobile odin and did not make a back up prior to doing that. Now it boots directly to Download mode and I can not get it to boot to recovery. I can not find the stock firmware anywhere to try to flash through odin. I was going to try the unbrickable mod but I dont know if I feel comfortable taking the thing apart. Ive tried flashing the OTA updates for the device and still nothing. Any suggestions on how I can get this to work again ?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
those files still available or no?

Hi there =)
Ive seen a los of roms and modifications for the LG G2 phone, mostly everysingle other number than mine, i have the d806 Argentina Latin America version i guess, and i havent been able to find any compatibility list or something like that to know wich roms (if any) of the other models can be installed on this one.
I would really like some help here since the bloatware haters (like myself) want to go to paranoid or a more stocky kind of android. Ive search the forum and the only thing ive found is the root tutorial on d802 working for the d806 but nothing about roms. If you guys can help me (and i bet a lot other too) out and help me figure out wich roms can work for the d806 i would be amazingly happy.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.
Before you try this make sure you have a recovery and back up!!! I use international roms on my tmo g2. I do this by flashing the rom then immediately with a reboot i flash a kernal for my version. I would try this. ONCE AGAIN PLS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RCOVERY AND A BACK OF A WORKING ROM! You can also choose to use your stock kernal my making a back up. And then flashing your backed up zip right after your rom
