G9 80 8gb available at archos us store - Gen8 General

Apparently they just became available, as I was looking at the website I refreshed it and changed from coming soon to 299.99. Unfortunately this is one of the models that comes with the 1.0ghz CPUs so I will still be holding off. As far as I know this is the first time they've been available, sorry if this is old news...

Absolutely old news, Im waiting 4 the 1.5GHz and 1GB ram on store

1go ram on archos .. LOL

Just got home from PC World in York with my new Galaxy Tab 10.1, I have to say that I love the look and feel of it compared to the Transformer that I returned a while back.
I was undecided about going for 16GB or waiting for the 32GB version, but after some thought I opted for the 16GB unit. I've got myself on the Google Music Beta so that's sorted, I may load on a few movies for trips etc but that won't be that often really. I don't think the storage limitations will me a major issue for me.
I'm aware that Kal-el is in the pipeline but this dual core should suit my needs, email, browsing and such. When Kal-el hits the streets, then we'll have to see what effect that has on the dual core tablets resale value, but I'm a little happier knowing that I've spent £399 as opposed to almost £500 for the 32GB or 3G models soon to be released. Hopefully I won't take too much of a loss if I decide to go for a newer Quad core next year.
A question, I don't see a charging led, is there one?
quick question mate - do you have a full 16gb spare? or is some taken with the android OS and apps etc? i have the 32gb on order and was thinking to the get the 16gb..
Congrats on the new tab! I also came from the transformer.... Returned for several and never could get a good one. As for the notification light... there isnt one.

I haven't actually set it up yet, it's switched off but on charge, thought it might be quicker to charge it that way? The demo unit in PC World had 12GB spare though if that helps. I remember the TF was about the same after being set up.

Ok thanks Danny!
Congrats on the new Tab! I got mine this past Saturday...use it every day!! I love it and I like that I could transfer files so easily between my Infuse and Tab using Bluetooth, unlike my iPad 2!

GS3 GT-I9305 LTE European version; Exynos 4412 Quad, 2 GB RAM, Mali GPU.

Guys, this is what I've been waiting for. :good:
Samsung just released it’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean kernel source code for the LTE Samsung Galaxy S III (GT-I9305). Don’t confuse this device with the dual-core snapdragon S4 US Variant as this is the European LTE variant. GT-I9305 has the same Quad-Core Exynos 4412 CPU and the same ARM’s Mali-400MP GPU as the international Samsung Galaxy S III (GT-I9300).The only differences are that the European LTE variant uses 2GB RAM instead of 1GB and has LTE Radios.
This means that 3rd party Android developers, like the CyanogenMod team, can use European LTE Galaxy S III’s (GT-I9305) Android 4.1 Jelly Bean kernel source code to fix major bugs like the Memory Leak, HW Composer and Mali GPU related issues they were having with the International Samsung Galaxy S III (GT-I9300) as these both devices are very much identical. This source code can vastly improve and improve their Custom ROMs.

What do you think, best phone ever? If they would only pack it with a non-pentile-screen also, but at this point I can't say no any more, coming from my Arc S.
It will be interesting to see benchmark results and what difference the RAM might do.
The i9300 isn't the best phone now i9305 is...I don't under stand Samsung it been 4 month and release a better phone

My thoughts exactly. Seriously, what company releases a new model to replace their top of the line phone within 4 months of release. I love my Samsung phones but this is really bad form on Samsungs part.
Imagine if Apple releases the iPhone 6 in 4 months time. There will be riots. It won't happen. So much for resale value on the S3 i9300. Once stock runs out here in Oz it will no longer be sold. Replaced by the i9305.

Frankly, this is what I expected the initial GS3 to be like. This and a non-pentile screen. Maybe old Sammy didn't finish LTE-integration in time for the GT-I9300, and maybe they packed it with only 1 gig RAM to save a few bucks. Idunno. Sorry to say, I think we're gonna have to live with 720-pen-tile 'til spring next year.
But this version is going to be... blistering! Especially after the buzz with launcher redraws due to lack of RAM, I'm looking forward to the comparisons. It comes in all-black as well.
I wonder what the coming Nexus will be based on. Do we dare to hope? I don't think Sammy will allow a copy of GT-I9305 as a Nexus, but man would it be nice.
Let's sit and wait for a release date.
If all GT-i9300 ROMs work on this i9305 then I'm sold instantly.
From what i've heard LTE uses quite a lot of ram so that's why it's needed in the I9305 version...

Didn't the iphone 4s come out like 5 or 6 months after the iphone 4? I know a few people swapped the 4 for the 4s.
I for one will be selling my s3 as soon as the s3 lte version comes out.
I was hoping it was out next week or thereabouts but it's looking doubtful.
This version will work on 3g network? I mean, o have a 9300 and i wanna change for 9305 but im not shure if will work on brasilian network.

Most likely true, but the RAM will come in handy even when LTE is shut off.

Yes, it will still work with 2G, 3G and 3.5G.
No it doesnt use that much ram it would use as much as the korean version and I have a screenshot showing 1.1gb Free Ram and thats with alot of tasks running. I have been waiting for this phone for over 1 month now its pretty old news, It was released in australia yesterday but its 16gb version so I am waiting for the 32gb which I will snap up straight away shouldnt be that much longer now.
And this will the the final release of the flagship phone before the S4 who cares why is everyone crying they releasing a better phone. Better for us we have more options now. I actually cant wait to get my hands on this one in my opinion this is how the original specs should look like finally they actually thought abit and released it
Because many people bought this phone outright for $800+ at launch

Its a nice phone and if I was in the market today I would get one instead of the i9300... 1.1g of free ram is nice, but frankly if you have that much "free" at any point in time its just wasted. Had zero multitasking issues with the i9300..
Don't worry guys.... after all releases of any Samsung models you will still go for whatever phone you want to buy...you will always be disappointed, that's how they control consumers... just think!!!
I thought we already know how this works! This people at Samsung sales are just laughing.... So why don't we just stay with what phone we have and maybe change it after 2 years, that's how it's suppose to be.
Except if you have a lot of money to spend with buying top of the line phones. Then go for it!
It was when there was a problem of getting a quad-core to work with a 4G LTE Chipset (Reason why all the American S3 's have dual-cores). They only were able to find a solution when they were testing the Galaxy Note 2. Since then, they can now get the new Quad-core into the Galaxy S3 with 4G. 4G also will use more RAM than its predecessor.
Even Apple tried to fix it, until recently they were able to fit the quad-core A6 chip into their iPhone5 with LTE. They could have put in a quad-core into their iPad 3, but didn't at the time cuz of the 4G / Quad-core incompatibility, instead they used the A5X (The original dual-core A5 processor hyper-threaded to a logical 4 cores) not a quad-core.
Well, now we're all gonna be getting more powerful quad-core powered phones with 4G!!!
wel I will let you know if its wasted ram or not when I get it I will report back. I also bought the l9300 But I didnt pay 800, Few hundred dollars less. And I will sell it after I buy the I9305, I will be out of pocket maximum $100 so I think that's a good deal.

bell canada's version of the S3?

hi guys, so im trying to figure this out, i've purchased a phone from bell before, which tursn out it wasnt that, and infact was a whole different model which is lesser than i thought i was buying...
so, im thinking of looking at that GALAXY S3 but i see theres a few models of it, or revisions, theres the i9300 which it might or might not be... or theres the newly released i9305 which it seems like LATELY they've been trying to advertise this phone so i almost thought it was the i9305... but its not
i called bell and asked them for what the "model number is" but she said, im not sure i think its " LT7416" which i find nothing on, go figure...
heres a link to it on their site, if it asks to select province then select bc i guess http://www.bell.ca/Mobility/Products/Samsung-Galaxy-S3
now i know that the i9300 has a quad core cpu and 1gb of ram the 9305 has 2gb of ram with same quad core.... , which is what i'd like, yet somehow on bells site its advertising it to have 2 GB OF RAM with a 1.5ghz DUAL CORE what the heck?
now im thinking WTF how can bell falsely advertise a phone name when it is actually a total different model, my phone from them i thought was a galaxy W when its actually, guess what, a exhibit II
but yeah i want to get to the bottom of this, i want a quad core phone from bell, the S3 looks dreamy but only if its that i9300 model or a 9305 thanks all!
i want to add to this, i have found this phone by sprint, i would guess this to be the same type of phone up here from bell, its a 2gb ram 1.5 ghz dual core "galaxy s III" its clearly not the real deal, so what i up with this stuff happening? i want the REAL deal not a half assed version of it for the exact same price, as the full 1
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-Sprint_id7099
now searching more i believe the common cheap model of the actual S3 here in canada is the " I747m"

It has 2GB of RAM and LTE. I'm not sure why you think it's cheap. The dual core processor is still very impressive. You probably wouldn't know the difference.

I will agree with this since I own both
with ICS, I noticed a slight difference the international being more fluid and more smooth than the US/CA version. And other small differences, One did certain things better than the other and visa versa.
But I will say since I've been running JB on both (official on my 9300 and a leak on my US version) the little differences I did notice I no longer notice as much. Not that they were huge differences to begin with. Even on ICS the I could only notice the differences when I had them side by side. JB on the US version is VERY VERY smooth and fluid. Bell has had one JB leak and TMO has had 2 and honestly the 2nd JB leak for tmo was actually smoother than the last leak or two for the international.
Also it kind of sucks that codeworkx is no longer going to support exynos based devices because samsung is not releasing things needed for exynos development. I think he even told people that want a fully working CM10 on the GS3 with no memory leaks and fully working HW composer then to get a US gs3 because it will never fully work on the 9300 unless samsung man's up and releases what developers need.
interesting, well i just think its jewish of them some how, if i was to buy the phone out right it would cost me the same to get the same model with the quad vs the dual kinda thing
but i was just talking to a buddy of mine and he said he 2 months ago got his S3 off bell, and he says his is a 1 gb 4 core phone, so i said well get a phone info app and lets double check and he did and he said yeah it says 4 cores and 1 gig, so perhaps they are for some reason advertising it as a lesser phone than it actually is? fingers crossed
I think that is one **** thing about samsung, is they have so many different versions of the same phone. They should of Release the I9305 to EVERYONE and not made other revisions. So stupid of them

Bell only has the dual core lte version of the galaxy s 3. If lte is available in your area, that would be the better choice for you.
I kinda wish I got that one instead, development for the international version so far has been disappointing.

For anyone from Czech Republic or neighbour states, for 16GB version use Amazon

Since Czech shops seem to offer only 8GB models (according to heureka.cz) I was pointed by some good guy on androidforum.cz to amazon page:
hxxp://xxx.amazon.co.uk/Motorola-Moto-Generation-SIM-Free-Smartphone/dp/B014KT0KWE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1442086835&sr=8-4&keywords=moto+g+3rd+gen (sorry for cheating)
It cost me 6 670 CZK($264), so about 1670 CZK($65) plus for the extra 8GB and 1GB RAM, I say that is good.
According to answers on amazon page it should be Model XT1541, Single Sim, Black.
I will put off my gloriously great but old and slow Defy+ next week when this G should arrive.
Defy+ served very well and survived my rough use, and it will still by my chosen communication device for festivals and wild pub rides (I must add some kind of strap though).
If only she had another + update so she would have at least 1GB of RAM and maybe few another cores, it would be glorious yet again, but sadly it will probably never happen.
Everything changes, time to move on to the G!.
Can't wait for the Marshmallow.
Hi to all Moto G users and xda users!
If anyone looks for a 2GB variant in Poland, x-kom sells it for ~1000PLN.

2GB RAM vs 4GB RAM? (US Model)

I realize this question has been asked before, but since the phone has been out for a while since the last thread I found I figured people who've been using it for a long time might have some more insight.
Do you think 2gb is worth it compared to 4gb? I don't game on my phone, but I do multitasking rather heavily (social media, a couple chrome tabs, sms, music, etc. Open at a time).
To complicate it a little further, I had the 4GB variant of this phone before, but broke it :'( and I am looking for a replacement. Typical price for 2GB/4GB is still $229/$300 respectively, but lately some great deals have popped up for the 2GB version. A local store by my is selling 2GB version for $190 right now. I haven't found any decent deals on the 4GB version, but I figure with deals this month there will be some at lower price.
Tl;Dr: should I buy the 2GB version for $190, spend the $300 for 4GB, or wait for better deal on 4GB version?
Appreciate any opinions or insight, especially from people who have been using the 2GB Moto G5+
Just get the 4GB... Better resale value if anything, if you're going to keep it for years, then even more of a reason to not be cheap about it. Besides, I've been seeing it for $250 recently. I bought mine at BB 6 months ago for $240ish.

Hmm, alright I'll probably just keep an eye out for sales. I haven't seen any like that tho, everywhere right now seems to have 2gb cheap but 4gb still at 300. Thanks for the input.

I would agree with previous response, 4GB or skip it for someone other than the casual user, which you don't seem to be... You will get lots of app closures/re-opening while task swapping with 2GB ram, next to none with 4GB.
The 4GB version goes on sale from time to time at around $250, although at full retail I might look at something else.
Honestly, if price is such a factor... Look at the E4 Plus which regularly sells about $170, 5.5" screen, 2gb ram, 32gb storage, 5000mAh battery.
Don't know if this is legit or not, but...

I have the 2gb version. I love it. No issues with ram and such. I had the s7edge before this and it is almost the same if not better switching between apps/ battery life than that phone. Maybe just my rom/kernel. I would just get the cheaper one. Save your money, I'm done spending way too much on phones. I was looking at that E4 tho.....I want a 5000mah battery....

G5s is out and aside from camera it's basically identical, so $219 sounds very realistic. Unfortunately, it's why I'm probably switching to another brand. Motorola (lenovo) hasn't been good with real updates, and they keep saturating their own product lines every 6 months, which means it can only get worse...
The U11 can be bought for $400, as well as, Essential (although essential is iffy brand right now).
Thanks for all the replies guys. I ended up going with the 4GB version after finding it for $225 US. I had looked at the E4+, and would definitely have considered it if it came with a little more powerful processor option.
For anyone looking for a good deal on the 4GB model, Newegg is selling it for $225US and that comes with a free Bluetooth speaker and free shipping option! Speaker is probably not great, but I thought that was a great deal after not finding a much of anything under $300 for the past couple weeks.
