Sorry for posting this, I've used the search function but I can't really find any current threads about this. My friend has this phone and its been really glitchy and it's been really bothering me. I want to put a custom rom on her phone, but I have no experience with any of the htc hero roms. Which one out there is the quickest but still relatively stable? She's got the sprint cdma htc hero. Since she is not too great with learning new things, a sense rom would probably be best, but she could probably get used to aosp too. Thanks for your input.
-_- i'd suggest cm7 imo, using the latest nightly #202 and jaybobs kernel v10
or kush's rom look in the developement thread.
Kush rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092332
jaybobs rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090234

Hi,
Ur best bet for a sense ROM would be liquid sense with a few tweaks like jaybobs kernel and Juwes optimization tweak and all that can be found towards the end of the forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=856099
But if u want a newer non sense stable ROM .... I'd recommend Hero Deck. All the kinks are gone from the start.

Just make sure to make a lot of time to read the threads to fix any issues that u have.
A decent more commercial ROM is:
Cyanogen.com

I'd recommend CM6. Runs really fast and is really stable. Other than that, or if you're looking for a Gingerbread based build, go for Deck/aosp.
I'd go jay bobs. Just updated today and its wicked

Guys, comon...i just asked a simple question, i looked at all the awailable roms from the thread that has them all in one place but it's no longer supported, sorry but i couldn't find what o was looking for
And as for cm7, i find it so difficicult to understand what's working and what's not, it doesn't have a list of non working things in it's thread
Just please link me to the best 2.2 aosp rom with a camera and i'm good
Also if cm7 is fully operational, of course i'll try it
It's not for my phone, it's for a girl so things have to work without a hitch
Thanks for your understanding

Openfire might be what you are looking for. It's a 2.2 ROM, so in my opinion not as good as Cyanogen which is 2.3 but it is clean and fast. If you haven't already, try CyanogenMod. Latest nightly build is 2.3.4, very fast and a good ASOP ROM.

Hey guy I'm sure that there's been other questions and posts about the question I am about to post but I need the answer really quickly.
I've been using Typhoon CyanogenMod7 Rom for the past two or three months and don't get me wrong because this rom is great. I love it. There's only one thing i don't like about it though. That's the GPS on it. I have tried the patches from the site and it does not work. I have a friend who is running the NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7 [GRJ22/Android2.3.4][Kernel:tytung_r10] and the GPS on that locks on pretty quickly as opposed to the one from Typhoon's one.
Now I'm wondering if there's a rom out there that can combine these two together? I like the NexusHD2 but i really want it to come with CyanogenMod7. Is there a way to get CyanogenMod7 just for the NexusHD2 rom?
Pretty much is there a rom out there that has CyanogenMod7 running Ginger with a2sd+ and the gps working that can lock quickly.
Please help me!
Thank You
No idea what you're saying. Cyanogen is based of nexus/ginger/stock in a way soooooo, what you have is what you want, if I'm reading correctly. Anyways the answer is no I guess. It's either cyanogen mod, or it isn't. It's either stock or it isn't. Just try some different builds, and if you ask which is the best, well... All of the active threads, well they're active for a reason right? If they weren't active well, that just means no one is using them and if no one uses them, then well... That must mean something right?
If I understand you correctly, you're looking for a AOSP based rom that has cyanogen features. Hyperdroid GBX is build from aosp source and has some cyanogen mod like the pulldown power control widgets.
The other rom I haven't tried is crawlingcity's ultimate droid which is also build from aosp with cm features. Start with these two and see if they're what you're looking for.
awesome thanks for the help im running hyperdroid-cm7-v2.0.1 its amazing and pongster is the best!
People are waiting for an update on Lite'ning Rom v6.1 since a long time but no news from LITEPRO the maker. I really wish that LITEPRO does come up with an awesome update on lite'ning rom asap but atleast there should be an alternative to it.
I would appreciate if people can please come up with their own experiences and share their valuable information on which Rom one can install that can substitute the Lite'ning Rom without any wipes.
Things that we are looking for in another ROM are as similar to the Lite'ning Rom and they are as follows:
1. Lightning fast speed
2. NO BUGS
3. The rom can be installed without any wipes
4. Regular Updates to be made available
5. All the features that lite'ning rom contained.
Looking forward for my XDA family to come up with the best possible solution.

Sticky? why would this be stickied?
Nothing to do with development either...
I'm too looking for other ROM.... but its to dificult....
Look all the ROM post.....
always has bug and usually has stranges themes with a lot of pictures....
I prefered the stock rom Look and a lite Blue theme.....
If you see the others...... has a lot off updates ... NOT for new base... only for include beta or news modules and packages that late fail and produce BUGS.
I can't remenber more than 5 or 6 bugs... on ROM.....
Please, tell me your next ROM.
I thinking to test :

Exactly, it has nothing to do with development nor contributes anything new other then what is floating around in all of the threads.
Not having a bash but if you wan to know what ROMs are out there to use, simply try them.
Everyone will experience different bugs as people use different add-ons like themes, diallers, kernels etc so a bug for one person isnt for another.
If you like a ROM, read the thread from the OP of that ROM, they generally have a changelog, FAQ's etc in the first few posts that will tell you if its a no wipe etc.
Backup always via CWM to revert back if youre unhappy and honestly, try all the ROM's so you can judge for yourself. If you read the first few pages you generally wont go wrong, espeically with a backup.
Something like a collective Kernel thread etc should be a sticky as that benefits everyone, not this.
I went from litening, to criskelo, cognition, skyrom and now leomar revolution. All no wipe and phones running great but thats with my setup, yours may be different so give it a go.
My rom after Litening [ROM][KI3] Batista70 FOXHOUD EDITION 2.1 |03-10-2011|Jkay 11|+++RTL Arabic patch+++
[ROM] [XXKI3] LeoMar75 Rom Revolution v2.7.1 - Kitchen App
this thread is only been made to get a good solution.......
i know there is no development involved in it but atleast this will help many people who are confused for which rom they should get for their phone. This will surely help many people to take a sensible decision.....
I've noticed that Wi-Fi direct doesn't work fine on lightening 6.1. I hope litepro will fix it. I don't to move to another rom cause I'm quiet satisfied with this one.
why is this in development?
Should be in Q&A.
This thread is pointless, just move on to another rom. It wont kill you to try roms that arent outdated
And the great thing about making a CWM backup (nandroid) is that you can flash new roms to your hearts content and if you don't like it, you can be back up in 2 minutes using restore. I am sure you'll find something you like. For me, I love Batista ROM it has blue themes and much more
Leomar75 rom. really a revolution rom. great in everything.
how is the battery life in this rom LEOMAR??

I used lite'ning rom for months and loved it.
Now using batista 2.1 and loving it just as much, if not more.

I was in the same position as the OP - loved LR but didn't want to get left behind with no updates from LitePro.
I've just moved to CriskleoROM today and after a minor hitch that required a reflash, it's working flawlessly.
Seems super fast.
Can't reliably report on battery life until 2nd or 3rd recharge cycle, but from what I have read it seems to be as good if not better than LR
Ok i have the HTC HD2 i been away for like a year and just come back and there seems to be new android 2.3 and that am using 2.2 froyostone sense.. so whats new then? which one would u recommend for me as there loads now cheers
Well, loads has obviously changed now. I would recommend looking here for instructions on how to start over and using this ROM, but you should obviously experiment in terms of ROMs.
suggestion: boyppc roms

Team Blue Droid have produced an excellent sense 3.5 Rom which looks the business and works far better than many others I have flashed recently on my EU HD2

I need help deciding which ROM to do with. Looking for a ROM with little to no bugs. I like the way Ice Creamed looks. but i notice that they are all in there Beta phases. If anyone knows a ICS with little bugs i'd like to try it, or a Gingerbread that they'd recommend would be great.
I don't know what to look for when choosing a ROM, as of right now I am just looking for looks, if there is things i should look out for i'd like to know
Also when i install a ROM do i need to install a new or specific Radio or Kernel?
Thank you in advance
Sense or Stock AOSP?
If you like Sense, check virtuous affinity or Android Revolution HD.
If you prefer AOSP, go for CyanogenMod 7.2. It's not a real "stable" build yet but it should be ok.
My best advice : get Titanium backup and try a couple :-D
Regards

Miui can be customized to look however you want with the built in theme browser, downloader, and installer and it is extremely stable.
Can't go wrong there.

What he said. All Roms on XDA are beta as they are hacked versions of official roms so no one will be able to tell you how each one will react on your device. I would just follow the way of XDA. Try it and see if it works. If not then try to figure out why or move to another.
