Audio Routing Issues - Epic 4G General

Im trying to figure out if my phone is broken. I have a rooted 2.2 rom installed and this evening my phones microphone and speaker stopped working. The option for speaker phone and bluetooth are greyed out.
I have tried wiping and restoring to a backup but it is still not working.
Thanks for the help!

Try to odin a stock rom and then root to see if it repair the problem.

odined back to stock and still same problem. I connected a set of headphones and I can hear people but the microphone is still disabled. Its like the phone thinks there is the stock headset/mic plugged in but there is not.
At this point it must be a hardware issue.

Problem with JFv1.5 Phone Calls While Listening to Music

Hello Everyone,
I'm having some odd problems that seemed to have started when I updated to CRB43. There are 2 consistant things I've noticed so far and these all happen when a headset adapter device is plugged into the phone.
1. If I'm listening to music in my car and a phone call comes in, the music stops (as it should), but there is no ring, just vibrate. When I try to unplug the adapter and answer the call, there is silence and the call goes to voicemail even though the phone appears to be in the call.
2. While listening to music, if I get any kind of notification, the sound goes dead even though the music is still playing.
In both cases I have to reboot the phone to get back to normal.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tim
I had the same problem.
Use Lucid's script and restore the Audio to stock.
If that doesn't work, reinstall the radio from HTC.
I finally got mine working by doing both on the same reboot, so I'm not sure which one fixed it when I was using JF's rom. Whichever, the combo of both did the trick for me.
I must have not done the radio update, because that's what worked for me, it's working good now. Thanks for the reply!
Super.
Glad it worked.
I'm not exactly sure how mine got overwritten either. But I figure it was one those causing the problems.
Now...
I've been trying the audio hack, and I simply cannot get it to work. No combination of versions work without phone calls and notifications completely stopping the audio server. Regardless of the build I choose. Luckily, I don't give up

[Q] suddenly lost speakerphone!

after 6 months of this phone working perfectly, i all of a sudden lost my speakerphone. i was listening to a audiobook when it just cut out. i figured just a bug so i reset the phone and still... nothing. i use an app called super mono that sends the speakerphone to the bluetooth headset so i uninstalled and restarted again... nothing. i ended up installing a new version of virtuous and still no sound. at this point i figured it was my speaker as i didnt install the app and still getting nothing. then my phone rings, and the speaker works just fine. after that no sound again. installed CM7 and still no luck. i can make calls as the headset works, but i cant hear any calls ringing. can someone help me troubleshoot this or am i better off replacing the speaker? ty beforehand

no sound from speaker

hello i just bought a used samsung fascinate have had them before and i like it so much i got one again...well ive notice that when i recieve a call i get no sound, no sound on notification, but i can hear when i am on a call or listening to music with a headphone jack plugged in not when i turn the speaker on during a call or without the headphone jack....there is a solution for a samsung captivate but i have a fascinate...so if anyone knows how to fix please help
thanks
Which OS are you on? I had some sound issues when I first flashed CM7 a while back.
this phone is running 2.3.5 stock non root
Not really sure why it's doing that unless there is a hardware issue going on. If you haven't rooted and you are on stock, try bringing it back to Verizon. They are gonna make you do a factory reset to see if it will fix the issue, so not really sure if you want to do that or not! If you aren't rooted, you can't backup your apps.

Speakerphone Problem

Hi guys,
Yesterday, I did a bunch of changes/updates to the phone, and later in the night realized the speakerphone isn't working. However, the problem is just with phone calls - the earpiece works fine, but when I switch to the speakerphone, the noise comes out for a very brief moment, and then silence. Music player and other apps play thru the speaker just fine.
So, it seems the problem is s/w related, not h/w. The things that I did are
- rooted
- installed TWRP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670
- Tether hack
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2493978
- Ran CleanTOOL
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451021
Checked all settings that I can think of. Speakerphone volume is set to top level. I am stumped.
Any clues? Help very much appreciated.
Currently, I am still running stock. I guess flashing another ROM or stock image might solve the problem, but don't want to go thru reinstalling and configuring apps again.
Thanks for your input.

Hi,
Can you be spesific about which changes other than install those files? Would help if I knew.
Try toggling Bluetooth on/off.

Update
I tried restarting the phone a few times, turning the volume up and down, but couldn't make it work. Today afternoon, on a call, I turned on the speakerphone, and it started working. I don't know what happened that fixed it.
Thanks for the replies.

Mic not working in calls

Alright guys.
I got a rooted Verizon Note 3 4.3 running safestrap with Hyper drive in Rom slot 1 and stock slot has... Well, good ol reliable TouchWiz.
A few days after (sorta) flashing this new Rom, my microphone stops working in calls.
Speaker works for both roms, but if I'm trying to place a personal call on either Rom, it don't work. I can hear them, so my speaker is fine. Tried turning on and off all the noise cancelling stuff and assisted hearing stuff. Nothing.
My voice recorder picks everything up, but I think that's the same mic for speaker. If anyone can enlighten me, please help me fix this.
I'd rather not factory reset and flash if possible, so seeing if anyone else has had this issue. I don't think my mic has taken any damage.
If anything, I'll factory reset and stuff, but I don't think it'll help because the mic doesn't work on both roms. I'd hate to figure out how to Odin back to stock completely, lose root, and somehow figure out how to get rid of the knox 0x1 count I THINK I have. Custom recovery and warranties don't seem to mix.. So I hear.
Please help fellas.
Thanks!
