Unable to get to recovery - Vega General

I installed the Vegacomb 3.2 RC7 and everything was working fine. I booted into CWM to install RC8 (This was before 9 was released) and all I get is a black backlit screen. Nothing else.
I have tried a multitude of power button, back button button combos. The most common being the official Advent recovery combo as on here - http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/full_system_flash_instructions.pdf
I have tried usb in, out. PSU in, out and multiple combos. But I still can't get into recovery. I never had a problem before.... Any ideas?
Thanks.

I feel you pain mate, install VC9 and softbricked it. Now trying to get into recovery mode but wont for love or money! As soon as i touch the power buttun the backlight comes on.... have done this many times but for now it seems i may have actually completly bricked my vega as can't do any thing with it!!

I'll give it a try.. Mine is exactly the same.

Finally.... After spending about 7 hours pressing the button combo what must have been over 1000 times I am in recovery mode and reflashing the stock rom....
Hurrah.

[Q] Recovery without volume up button

I have a Motorola Xoom that I was trying to boot into recovery.
There's a problem, my volume up button is broken. Didnt realize it before so now I'm stuck at the logo with the choice to scroll between RSD, Fastboot or Recovery but cant select any mode.
Is there a way to exit this ? Tried to keep the power button pressed and tried various combiations of vol down and power but no result.
If I let it sit and drain the battery, will it eventually get out of this mode ?
Thanks
-Sam
Plug it into your computer and run adb then type fast boot reboot.
---------- Post added at 08:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:21 PM ----------
Sorry I should be more specific. Download easyadb and unzip it. Plug your Xoom into the computer and open a command prompt in that file with adb in it. Change your Xoom to fast boot protocol support and type fast boot reboot in adb.

Actually maybe try to press the volume up button really hard..
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. The problem with connecting to the pc is that adb wont recognize the device. Its because the device is stuck in select mode and not going into either of the RSD/Fastboot/Recovery options.
I can scroll through them but even hard pressing the up button wont work. I dropped it and the button doesnt work.
They are pretty easy to take apart, check out some videos on YouTube, etc and see if you can fix your volume button.
Thanks brandogg, Thats what I was planning to do. Or take it back to a verizon store since its still under warranty I think
Use your idea and let the battery drain..
Letting the battery drain overnight worked.
Thanks

Bricked Device (Screen doesn't turn on)

Hello,
I need some help with my Nexus 7. I had Pure AOKP (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843201) installed on the device.
Then I installed the latest Faux Kernel Unlimited Max (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804374).
There was no issues.
Then today when I tried to turn on Netflix the screen went black and won't turn on anymore.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you,
Everything is solved. I booted up and restored a nandroid.
Thank you
Did you try holding power, vol up and vol down all together for about 10 sec?

Did a similar thing myself; Tried to flash a ROM that i read about in Nexus 7 Dev forum that turned out NOT to be for a Nexus 7. Luckily for me, the flash failed.
Well now my new issue Is I can get to my fastboot but I can't get into recovery. It just stays at the screen that says Google and has an unlocked padlock on the bottom

No guarantee, but when I was stuck in a boot loop after flashing a particular ROM. That worked for me and got me into recovery, where I was able to re flash a working ROM

Is there hope for my device?

So I had cm10.1 and kt's kernel running fine all day. Tonight I decide to up the cpu speed past 2000 and it went into a boot loop. I guess I left "set on boot" checked. I got into recovery once and tried to flash the cm10.1 rom again and just got into the cm10.1 splash screen and wouldnt boot up all the way. Couldnt even get into recovery anymore after battery pulls. I then odin'ed back to stock and it doesnt get past the at&t splash screen. Seems it just wont boot up all the way regardless? Any tips to maybe get my device back?

Boot into recovery and factory reset, it'll boot
Then do your thing putting recovery and CM10.1 back on

Doesnt boot into recovery before and after I odin'ed. It tries to and quickly reboots.
jperry73 said:
It will boot into recovery, unless it's gone... Timing is key... take out the battery and put it back in... hold vol up + home, then hold power, when it vibrates, only let off power...

Have I bricked my phone?

I tried to install TWRP, but I had an issue.. Never quite figured out what to do..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48180057#post48180057
But then accidentally(!) accepted the OTA, and now when I boot I can't get past this error.
"secure booting error"
"Cause: Boot certification verify"
I don't seem to be able to get ADB or TWRP

You should be able to just hold down VOL DOWN + POWER, if you can get to download anyway then you can flash to stock like out of box....there's a thread in general forum about how to get back to stock .....sorry was making a BLT to eat
Also to get download mode to PC just HOLD VOL UP while plugging in PC while phones off.....

Tried the VOL UP and plugging in USB, but the same thing happens. Error on screen, and 12 new drive notifications!
Vol-down and power gives the same result. Mmm bacon

Mi A1 bricked and stuck in EDL black screen mode with white blinking led

Hi all!
First, english is not fluent for me, so excuse me for grammatical/temporal mistakes in my words.
It is now 12 days I am with my A1 phone bricked. It's bricked because I try to relock my phone with TWRP installed for making an OTA update.... I shouldn't, I know that now. My phone didn't wanted to boot, only on fastboot mode. But I couldn't flash anything because my bootloader seems to be locked now.
I disable the driver enforcement signature, installed the qualcomm drivers, open my phone and use the tespoints method. And my phone boot and this EDL mode 9008, and miflash tool saw it on COMxx and I was able to flash the fastboot july release. I was so happy! But, then, the phone now stay in black screen mode :crying: If I plug an USB cable for charge or on PC, the white led blink 3 times. I tried to push the power button during a few minutes, I tried to push power and volume up, power with volume down, power with volume up and down. I tried to reflash 3 times in miflash, everytimes it's a success flash, but I'm still stuck on that black screen mode. I don't know how to exit or if my phone is dead. I tried several USB port and cable too, that doesn't change anything.
Does anyone have any idea how i can exit this annoying black screen blinking white led mode? Or my phone is definitly dead? I searched but I didn't find a solution that works for my phone.

About 10 s . Try to push volume down and power button together and keep untill restart to fastboot
If doesn't work it can mean that power button has broken when you was opening the phone .
Well, I don't think it's the power button broken because if I plug the phone for charging, the led blink. If I disconnected the phone from charge and push the power button for 10s or more, nothing happen. If I put the phone and charge, start to push the power button then unplug the charge cable with power button still pushing it blinks 3 times after unplugged, then nothing. It's a small difference, but still a little reaction so I don't think the power button is the problem, but I'm not sure of that

When you connect phone with pc check what recognize in device manager . You can be in qdlooader 9008 or in diagnostic e900 . Always check what is in device manager after connect phone with pc . You will be know in which state is your phone . I don't know if your phone is in edl mode .
try holding on the power button and volume UP (not down) buttons for 10 secs and it should restart, I got into the same problem as u and that is what fixed it for me
if that doesnt work here is a link to a post with a guy that has the same problem: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/help/black-screen-xiaomi-mi-a1-reboot-power-t3728497
If I connect the phone to the computer, it shows nothing. I have to bridge the tespoints to make it appears, and then it appears in Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader9008 (COM10). And then I can flash with miflash and miflash tells me that it's a success.
I have exactly the same problem. Looking for a solution for weeks now. Tried everything that is on the net but still black screen

Sorry to read that but I think our phones are dead honestly. I don't see what to try to make it rise from the shadows of this black screen At least, I learn how to go in EDL mode and never relock bootloader with custom recovery. It's an expensive lesson but...
Thanks to you guys for answering and helping me

Also try to flash to Nougat and the problem is not fixed, the vibration is more intermittent only. Thanks for the input.
