I tried to root my 3G XOOM (MZ606) last night and eventually I did brick it but I am not sure. I did definitely dl the wrong img file (as I didnt read here before Anyway everything of the procedure went fine till I had to type the commands (like adb remount) after reboot. Actually the XOOM does not seem to connect to my wireless hotspot anymore (is that due to a missing key?) and it remains in the boot up screen (just the MOTO logo)
Is there any solution to get the XOOM reconnected may be? Can anyone push me into the right direction? Do I really need those certain cable (someon mentione in any thread here)?

thanx a lot for your help
Michael
if you have ANY type of screen coming up, its not bricked. Depending on your situation, you just need someone whos good with ADB/Fastboot to get things back to where they need to be.

go into recovery and wipe Everything/ factory reset, wipe cache, and go into advanced and wipe dalvik cache. then flash any rom available here in the DEV section.
hmmm I found out how to do that
>go into recovery and wipe Everything/ factory reset, wipe cache
but what means
>and go into advanced
? There is no advanced option at the recovery menu. So may be thats an otion once I choose 'reboot system now'?
And just for my understanding, that
>then flash any rom available here in the DEV section
is not necessary just may be in my interest, right?
--
Thanx anyway, great help
Michael
It might help us if you tell us what model your Xoom is...3g/wifi - us/uk - all the specifics.
Hopefully you knew this before you installed the wrong image.
Then we can help you get back to where you need to be.
And 'flashing any ROM here in the development section' is what got you here in the first place so I wouldnt do that.
Hola,
well I will definitely be more careful now. Actually I did read about those issue with the Wifi only device before but... So what specifications I could deliver?
So far I saw on the screen also printed on its backside its an MZ606 purchased from MOTOROLA china directly. I possibly wouldnt have tried to lunlock and root if those gadget could at least connect to the google market... sorry for complaining but the cn.MOTOROLA market does have very few and mainly chinese apps only. Further on before the procedure I stuck in now the OS has been Android 3.1
Hope those background information allows some more conclusions but
right now I am still trying to figure what kenfly ment by mentioning
>go into advanced and wipe dalvik cache
If I understand for example those guys http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=560207 right (hopefully it is allowed to put that link here) it seems to be a procedure before flashing a new ROM. What I am asking myself is do I right now not have a working one anymore? May be I misunderstood in the past but so far I thought the sequence is unlock> root> custom rom... and so far I think I am not successfully rooted yet so I wouldnt be supposed to flash a new ROM. So I think what I need to do now is to get my device successfully rooted before wiping the 'dalvik cache', am I wrong?

Did you flash the ClockworkMod recovery before rooting [after unlocking], and if so, which version?
If you don't have that installed, you wouldn't see the advanced option in the recovery menu.
You have a wifi model and I think the wifi hardware is all the same so you could flash the US Xoom system image and that should solve your access and updates problem, But since it's a HongKong Xoom, there may be some differences, so try it out but use caution.
hey guys looks as I dont get the message. I am still stuck at the recovery screen. I did
>go into recovery and wipe Everything/ factory reset, wipe cache
but whats next? Rebooting does not change anything, still the same logo screen only. So am I supposed to apply a proper image by 'apply update...'?
--
Cheers
You say you have a 3G Xoom - but the MZ606 is WiFi only.
Do you remember what image you applied to mess things up in the first place?
sure, the name is rootboot.img
It should be the one from 3*w.addictivetips.com, '/?attachment_id=45936'. I separated the link as I dont wanna mislead anyone here but I hope its still possible to follow up
--
Thanx for your help
-sorry for the 3G thing, no idea why I did type that. It definitely is a WiFi only
-and i idd not do any clockworld thing before or what ever. It has been just an ordinary MZ606 automatically updated to the 3.1 android version, but unlocked. For unlocking I used the android.sdk and typed the command to do so, thats everything I did before getting stucked with those rooting procedure
Hey guys dont leave me alone. I may tend to do another stupid thing ... well I am capable to find former posts about how to recover so on but as U asked some more details it seems to be depending on which exact device I have and what exactly I did before. So I hope U could still guide me to the harbor
hey.ur on 3.1 right?
I assume you have knowoedge on fasboot.
Find the appropriate boot.img for ur device then flash it via fasboot.
Maybe u flash the wrong boot.img

well the problem (after data/factory reset and wiping cache) is the application (android.sdk) still cant find the device... I assume thats due to device still stuck at the M logo and I cant tpe in the WiFi password for example.
So how could I flash another ROM to the device without having the OS working on it properly?

Do you have the proper drivers installed? Make sure you get them from Motorola.
Your device should be seen if ADB and Fastboot are set up correctly.
Once you can see the device I would use fastboot to reinstall the proper image (again from Motorola - they will have the correct Image for your Chinese Xoom)
yes I do have the proper drivers from M and they worked perfectly before once I flashed the wrong image. May be my problem is too simple for U guys or as I am not capable to deliver appropriate information to get some help.
For my understanding it is obvious why my pc can't get the device as the device obciously cant get an wireless IP without knowing the WPA2 key and I cant type in the wireless key as the OS (on that device) does not fully start up. Which wireless device works without any basic configuration? So does mine I guess even though I am not expert... but even I deactivated any security measures on my router it still the device didn't connect (check only at the routers active device list)
Once again my question: How could I flash another ROM to the device without having the OS working on it properly? I think the OS is (part of) those wrong IMG i did flash before, so I assume I will never get it working

Can u go to fastboot?
When the xoom bootup press vol down immediately.it says starting fastboot etc.
If your pc can detect it then flash the correct images to ur xoom.

I keep he decvice at the recovery menu for 2 days now but yes I can "go to fastboot" too but again that doesnt change anything regarding connecting my device to the wireless router. Why none of U guys replies on those obvious fact? The XOOM like all other devices I know will not connect to any wireless hotspot without any confirmation (may be a password) on its UI and as I cant get into the UI...
May be its the wrong directory for thes question. Is it possible to shove to Q&A?

No no.why would you connect it on wireless router in the first place.connect it on ur pc! So if the pc detected it.then flash thru adb.
oh thanx for that hint. I thought it works only connected via wifi. Well now the SDK states a number instead of the device name or MZ606. I hope its not my HTC Desire but I did deactivate the wireless on there.
So if it really is the MZ606 (I can take the battery off the HTC just to make sure should I go back to the original image first, then install clockworld, then root?

thanx in advance
Sdk only detects devices connected to pc.so your phone has nothing to do with it.did u already download the firmware for ur xoom?the link i post awhile ago download the rom there.do you know how to flash it thru fastboot?.if yes then i think u can revive ur xoom.

[email protected], you seem to be lacking some very basic understanding of how all of this works on the Xoom. No wonder you felt frustrated.never in a million years would I guess you would try to flash an update or recover your Xoom via a wireless connection.
That said, hopefully you are now on the right track. I wish you good luck.

Hello guys,
i got a serious and frustrating problem here.
A few days ago my xoom was stuck on the M screen, so I used a thread in the forum and recovered it.
It solved myh problem back then, but since I had 3.2 before this and the solution injected me with Android 3.01 my problems started to show themselves.
the first one is that
<b> Through Fastboot, RecoveryMod, ADB </b> and any other way you can Imagine to install a new ROM or even remove or create a file,
All of them show success message but when I check them out I see no changes.
i tried fastboot and Recovery to install nearly every ROM,Recovery and bootimage in this site but so far it was wild goose chase.
so I want to ask if I'm doing anything wrong or if you need any more information here, but please help me with this
wow I cant believe it, All these masterminds here and no answer to my distress signal??
Guys I am so in trouble and this is the only place I hoped to get answered.
I can provide you with more info if you need, but please dont say I'm on my own here.
all these years this forum was the last hope for me.
i know I'll get my answer here one day
You are not being very clear about what you have done,, but I'm assuming that you reinstalled the stock image that got you back to HC 3.01. Can you see if you are able to get OTA updates to get you back to at least 3.1, or 3.2 if possible?
If that's my problem forgive me please, Ive written that post in 3:00AM
for the sake of clearity I should add some info:
1. I even tried stock ROMs but you see I cant even flash them (Not from Recovery nor Fastboot) the steps seem successful : it opens the package,it installs them and it says everything was a success. But when I restart the device I see nothing has changed.
2. OTA updates are the same, they keep downloading and when the sysem reboots to recovery to install them it cant find them.
3. You dont believe it if I say even files and programs that I remove from device by my hand(Android OS) are back after the first restart.
And you see it's dark magic! everything from a file to a partition are back by one reboot. I dont know what should I call it but I havent seen anything like it on the whole Internet.
So seems like I should make a competition for the xda experts here
Can you publish it so all of them can see it?

Can you describe, step by step what you are doing, what cable you are connecting to your pc with, etc?

That would be relief to know this could be solvable.
I will look more too.
As for your post I must say:
1. I plug the Xoom to the PC using the included cable
2. I start the xoom and start fastboot
3. on the PC system has the drivers and completely knows it
4. I start with SDK:
I. Fastboot oem unlock (Completing onscreen instructions and reboot device)
II. Fastboot mode again I use Fastboot flash boot boot.img
III. Continuing with Recovery,System
IV. Rebooting the device anything is the same.
My ROM is unchanged by the process and keeeeeeeeps giving the damn error of System process error please submit
5. And with ClockworkrecoveryMod I have the stock ROM on my sd card.
I. I choose install zip from sd card.
II.Choose the correct zip file and start flashing.
III. Choosing Wipe Data/Factory reset will take the device into a complete hang. unless I first use the mount page to mount the System/Data
IV. I reboot the device and ..... you know nothing changed.
so thats my story.
Still hope to find something about it.
Thanks...that was helpful. But now I want to know the following:
Were you rooted before the trouble started?
What did you do to recover?
If rooted, what version of CWM recovery did you have installed? Did you do a nanadroid backup? (I guess the answer is no, because you could have just restored with that).
What recovery are you accessing when trying to flash a zip file?
If you can answer these questions I will continue to wrack my brain trying to recall where I saw that thread.
Edit: please check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1370312
Some of what I said to him may help you .

Ok, here goes. First off, I searched. A lot. There is so much conflicting information and opinions out there. I hate to annoy you pros with noob-ness but I have to. Sorry!
Here is the quick version:
Friend gave me an Atrix 4G. He is big on experimenting, rooting, custom ROMs and all that. I am not. At all. I want to use it on t-mobile. I DO get a signal and can text. MMS doesn't work and motoblur wont let me set up an account. This results in no access to email other then Gmail. Basically, I want to bring the phone back to its original (or close as possible) state. Hopefully, that will solve some of my issues.

2.3.4
-Unlocked
-Rooted
-Build Number
olympus_hktw-userdebug 2.3.4 4.5.2A-5_OLH-3110614 test-keys
-Clockwork recovery mod installed (if that matters)
I am not THAT tech savvy but can follow instructions well. I've already been messing around but cant seem to get RSD Lite to actually flash properly. I dont care for customs ROMS, hacking and tinkering. I just want this phone to work as well as possible.
Can anyone give me some personal assistance? Please? Step by step would be great. I'll be refreshing this page often in hopes of responses.

It sounds like you need to set up a proper T-Mobile APN. (you have a T-Mobile SIM card currently installed?)
If you can get on Wifi, try to go the the Play store and download Tweakker or other APN utilities that enter the APN for your based on your carrier.

Yes. I have a t-mobile SIM card installed. My concern is what the previous owner may have done and whatever ROM is loaded on this phone. Can I somehow bring it back to stock or get a super stable, close to stock as possible ROM first and then start addressing the quirks I have?
Is this an AT&T branded phone? I'm not sure if getting back to stock is necessary, and if you do get back to stock, you might be SIM locked to AT&T (I could be wrong however). If you want to flash a fresh, stock ROM but still be rooted, SIM unlocked, etc., find a 2.3.6 Fruitcake in this forum or try NottachTrix 4G ROM.
however, I'd wait till others weighed in before doing anything. Honestly, I'd try getting your APN (download Tweakker app and walk through the steps) going now and if that solves your issue, your ROM might be working fine for you... my $0.02
oh, and welcome to XDA!

1. Download the fruitcake .zip you want (webtop also, if you want it)
2. Do a full wipe with fastboot (search if you're unsure how to)
3. Boot into recovery and flash the .zip you downloaded from step 1
4. Reboot and you're done
This will put you back to stock. I can't remember if fruitcakes are pre-rooted, but if not you can easily root again.
Alright, now we're getting somewhere.

The phone itself says "unlocked" upon startup. I got the network unlock code direct from AT&T because at first the phone wouldn't even recognize my t-mo SIM. Phone is now network unlocked.

gonna search now for fruitcake and see what thats all about. Do I need webtop?
Then going to get fastboot. Guess I dont need RSD Lite anymore?
Im doing this because I dont know what the previous owner has done and would like a clean slate. Kind of like changing the oil on a used car you buy, even if the PO says it was done.
Ok so,
I found fastboot with recovery tool and the .exe files within the ZIP dont do anything.
The fruitcake ZIP file I downloaded according to your link, I'm not sure what to do with that. lol

that "unlocked" bit on start up means your bootloader is unlocked, doesn't have anything to do with the SIM card. All this means is that you can flash a ROM since the phone is "unlocked"

the fruitcake .zip goes on your internal sdcard. BUT, before you start doing anything, please go through the stickied threads in this section and read up on how to flash ROMs to your phone. This will include how to wipe your phone using the fastboot commands and how to flash the fruitcake .zip.
start here, read this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600
then follow guides to
"HOW TO INSTALL FRUITCAKES ON 2.3.4 (GREAT SBF/RSD ALTERNATIVE!!!)"
and
"ROMs & Kernels:
FYI:
Before installing any ROM or Kernel I suggest you do the following to help prevent error, boot-loops, etc. Also, it's a good idea to flash a new ROM or Kernel on a fully charged device:
1) Download which ever ROM or Kernel you plan on flashing and have the .zip on your device ready to flash.
2) Backup your apps (not system data), contacts, etc. Also consider making a CWM backup of your device, just in case.
3) Boot into CWM Recovery
4) Wipe Dalvik Cache (under advanced in CWM)
5) Wipe Cache Partition
6) Wipe data/factory reset
6a) If you're using ROM Manager/CWM you will need to reboot the device after step 5, and upon reboot enter fastboot mode and enter the command: "fastboot -w" or "moto-fastboot -w" if you prefer using moto-fastboot. Then type "fastboot reboot" and upon reboot make sure to enter Android Recovery again, so that you can flash the ROM/Kernel.
7) Install .zip from SD Card (choose the .zip you wish to install)
8) If you installing a radio, theme, kernel, etc. on top of a ROM, I would suggest redoing the whole wipe process again between flashes.
9) Reboot the Device
- If you get a boot loop, try entering Android recovery and re-wiping the chace and data, and perhaps try reflashing the ROM/Kernel. Or if you made a CWM backup, you can always restore that."

Ok, sorry I wasn't that detailed in my other post and assumed you were on your phone (my bad). First things first, read the N00b guide.
1. Anytime you download CWM .zips, put them on the root of your phone's sdcard. You'll need them there in order access them from recovery. ( note: sdcard=internal sd card & sdcard-ext=external sd card for blur ROMS )
2. Fastboot commands are executed from the command line. Open a command prompt and navigate to the directory containing fastboot.exe in order to use it. The Noob guide should have links to all the fastboot commands you'll need.
3. With the Atrix's unlocked BL, holding Volume Down when turning the phone on will bring up a series of bootmodes to choose from. This is how you get into fastboot, recovery, RSD, etc. Navigate through the choices with Volume Down. Select one by pressing Volume Up. You should only ever really need Fastboot and Android Recovery.
4. CWM is used to flash .zips (ROMS, kernels, apps) while in recovery mode. Use romracer's to make things easier on yourself later.
Read through the N00b guide and this will all make perfect sense.
I have no idea what Im doing. I think because this phone has been tampered with so much already, it's making it extra tough to work with.
I managed to install CM7. Its the only ZIP file that actually seemed to take. I still dont understand fastboot , in the sense that I don;t know when Im supposed to see a command prompt. Also, now, CM7 is asking me to upgrade to premium and I have to pay for it. There doesnt seem to be a free way of installing it so that I can sync all my info through my google account. Ugh. Im not cut out for this but Ive been screwing with this literally since 730 this morning.
**CM7 with google apps packet installed. So far, so good. Im happy with this considering its pretty close to stock gingerbread, kinda like my G2. Now, Im hopefully done messing around. Would be nice if they release a solution for the fingerprint scanner or if I can get my gmail to auto sync but at least I can stop obsessing for the time being. Great help guys, thanks so much!!!!

Everything will be lost. Considering your phone is bricked there is no way to pull the pictures from your device.
Edit: you might not have to flash full stock, just the system.img that will allow you to overwrite the current system and maintain your sdcard.
i do not know if this is the best place to post this considering i am brand new (i hope so) but i have a soft bricked nexus s 4g that i am trying to fix.
it was loaded with the helly bean 4.2.2 custom rom from nexus hacks (sorry no links) after the reboot it went to a black screen.
what ive tried:
odin: flashing a new rom, this resulted in odin not finding the device (usb debugging is not on and i cant turn it on)
fastboot: (i have all the files but i cant seem to get it set up, i type in adb or fastboot (no device recognized)
nexus root toolkit: (wouldnt find the device and found no options to help with usb debugging)
dfs: (couldnt read the device)
plugging in the phone to the computer: it makes the noise that it is plugged in, comes up as f drive but it is greyed out and i cant click on it (says insert disc)
clock work recovery: i did a full data wipe and required wipes cache and delvik or something along those lines: it reboots into the rom and nothing has changed.. my guess is because there is no back up of the original rom and the cfw is trash, it just wipes the bad rom back to factory and that is still a problem.
pda net: wont recognize the device
galaxy nexus toolkit: nothing useful since the usb debugging is not enabled.
ive worked for 6 hours as of last night to figure this out. i have spent most of those hours in forums and delving further into this phone then id imagined (its not mine) so if there is anyone out there that can suggest anything id appreciate it. this has got me stumped and amazed how such easy fix can really be this complicated.. i will thank any and all answers given to me

You need to be in the bootloader for fastboot to work. Reboot to bootloader and try flashing a recovery.img using this command.
fasboot flash recovery recovery.img

ran sdk tools tried adb shell and nothing it wont read the device. we tried to push the .tar files to the phone using samsung galaxy nexus tool kit. it didnt work so hes going to take it to a repair but i think the device is toast on the account that usb debugging mode is no where in sight. if it does get fixed ill be sure to report how it got fixed. so anyone else who runs into the problem can get this fixed without a 20 dollar repair bill.

will my computer even detect my phone? usb debugging is off and i can't see the phone's storage from my pc.
Hey friends,
As I already informed you in the "geekbuying firmware" thread, I have ordered a Nubia Z17S with "gobal rom". See here where I got it from: https://nl.aliexpress.com/store/pro...hone/708786_32837057331.html?isOrigTitle=true. I have 2 subjects to discuss with you. One is FOR you, one is where I need help .
GLOBAL ROM UPLOAD:
I got the phone in, just a few days ago. But it appears it really HAS a stock global ROM with full Google Play support, everything works! It is the EN_COMMON v1.02 ROM.
If you like, I can make a backup from this ROM and upload it for you guys, in order to see if you can cook a compatible Z17 ROM from it?
The only question: How do I do this, WITHOUT rooting my phone, if you have a tutorial for me, I will try for you.
Mobile Iron not installing:
Why I ordered a Z17S with the global ROM, is that I am NOT allowed to root my phone. Why: I need to have Mobile Iron installed, a secure enterprise cloud service, used for my work email. See here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobileiron&hl=en. Normally on my other phones (for instance the Z9 mini) it was no problem to install this app, as long I had an official rom on it. It was always on a Android 5 ROM. However, now, the APP is not installing and gives me the following error: "Your work has set up a work profile. If you like to use [email protected], use the version with badge that has been installed on your device". The problem is however, that my company does NOT have installed ANYTHING yet on my phone. Searching around on the internet shows that also Samsung users with Android 7 have this issue, as there is a secure folder installed that is not allowed by Mobile Iron, see here: https://forums.androidcentral.com/a...galaxy-note-7-unable-install-mobile-work.html. So, my question here is the following: Does the official Nubia ROM have something like a "secure folder" option, or anything like that? And if so, how can I uninstall that? I tried to look around myself, but no luck.
In summary: if you could help me with the Mobile Iron installation, I will help you with the Z17S ROM (and even if you cannot help me with the Mobile Iron installation ).
flash twrp,
make a backup
flash official recovery.
Sorry but for twrp I need to unlock the bootloader, which I can't do.
Can you make the backup using the stock recovery? It would be great to get the ROM. I found this on an official Nubia forum: http://bbs.nubia.cn/thread-1079140-1-1.html But haven't tried yet.

Finally I was managed to get it working. Now my phone is rooted with just two or three steps. Really easy to do .
1. In your phone, Open settings, about phone, tap many times on a build number to access the developer mode and enable USB debugging, enable also OEM unlock!
2. Download this file: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aibwba12yUANjd4Ss0xEQErPtMrfTw
2. Unzip the folder somewhere to your disk
3. Run recovery.bat
4. Close the opened website and in the opened command line, press 1 and enter to install drivers
5. Press 2 and enter to install TWRP, after the installation is finished, the phone remains in a fastboot mode but you will see press any key to continue in the command line (don't press anything on the computer!) you have to press volume down on your phone to choose reboot to recovery mode and confirm it by pressing the power button
6. Voila, you are in a TWRP. In TWRP first of all, if you have a set pattern or a code, type in the code or a pattern, select language and confirm by pressing the blue enter button. You can also choose your language (for me English). Swipe to allow modifications.
7. Navigate to advanced, tools and root device, swipe to confirm
8. Wipe cache/dalvik and reboot to system.
9. Download root checker and check if you are rooted.
10. If you want to boot to the recovery again, I think this is a temporary TWRP installation. If I tried to boot to TWRP again, I just got into the original recovery. BUT the root still remains! And if you want to unroot the device, you just tap to unroot device in TWRP.
11. If you want to get into TWRP, again repeat steps 3 and 5 - Just open the recovery.bat and hit 2 to install TWRP, then get into it and make a backup.
MOREOVER, I was able to make the backup! So if you could make the backup (I skipped the data part because I think it is not so important since there should be just some apps data and other things not the system files), but please make a backup of your rom and upload it somewhere. Please give it a try
Thanks in advance
Thanks, but as I mentioned, I cannot unlock, root or reflash the device, sorry!
unlock bootloader,
flash twrp,
make a backup
flash official recovery if you want
lock bootloader if you want.
you are still not rooted so your iron will go on working. any many no zero operation done to ROM - system so you are still unrooted.

Once again, did you try my method?
I also couldn't unlock, root or anything else. But with this manual, you can do that. And then you can unroot your device easily if needed.

BTW. Guys, is there anyone who could make his backup even with the Chinese rom in TWRP?
I accidentally formated data and now the phone cannot boot again, the only thing I can do is get to the TWRP but I cannot do anything else. Please someone, make your backup and post it somewhere to download.
Thank you very much.

Sorry but you don't get me I am afraid ... I mean I am not going to risk my 600 euro phone to root unlock and reset, as the Z17s has no solid twrp and I do not have a international ROM to fall back at the moment. If something goes wrong, which is very likely (see your own situation at the moment), I will be stuck for weeks or longer, and having the risk to never be able to install Mobile Iron anymore.
So to be clear, I will be more than happy to make a backup of my system, but if this involves rooting, unlocking or reset, I cannot help you. Sorry!
My situation was totally different. It was just my fault that I did a full reset with all the data erased but I am back alive. Just flashed the old recovery and stock rom. So a quick and simple solution. Hopefully there will be someone who is not so afraid.
The method I posted is 100% safe. I have tested it and worked like a charm. I was managed to install Google Play and other services so I am happy now. Do not need the geekbuying rom. Because there are no updates which I would miss.
Anyway, thanks.

Thanks! Nice to see it is downloading from this site:

Too bad this "root folder" for the Z17S is forbidden. But nice to see the folder is named "europe & asia".

most probably, you can't
Please allow a couple of stupid questions:
-Is this ROM you linked ( NX595J_Z69_EN_VNG0N_V105.zip ) compatible with both the models? (6/64 GB and 8/128 GB?)
-Is OTA update possible once they're installed?
-Are they already equipped with google services and stuff?
Thanks to whom might answer
Hi, guys.
Today, my OP5 decided to troll me. I was using normally him, when suddenly it started to lags pretty bad. I restarted and he continued to lags and freeze. I made a wipe cache via stock recovery (i didnt made any change at all in it, no unlocked bootloader, no root). That's when my nightmare begins. It begins to bootloop. Sometimes i was able to start the boot animation, but then it just restarts to the beginning. I tried a lot of tips, wiping cache, system, etc. Then, i left it charging. When i tried to turn on again, it worked like nothing ever happened to him. I made a backup of my personal data fast, scared to him suddenly restart again. After that, i decided to made a Factory Reset, clean up everything. When i did it, he started the lag and freezes again. I was at lost. That's was when i decided to use the official unbrick tool, to make the cleanest OP5 ever possible. I grabbed the archives from this link and followed this tutorial. When i was executing the programa, in the userdate.img, he showed a error. When i saw it, i just stopped and closed the program. Now, my OP5 is hardbricked. The only sign of life that i get from him is when i connect him at the PC. I can identify it as qualcoom 9008, but when i try to run the program, he just fail and show me error 258.
Plz, i need some orientations. I have been read things for about 10 hours and didnt found a solution. I live abroad for any oneplus tech center, and i believe, for the other posts that i read, that online tech support wouldn't help me a lot. I really don't like to make this kind of post but i am kind of desesperate. I dont have money to afford another phone
Again, sry to disturb you all. Sry if i broke some rule of the forum too. And sry for my bad english, i hope that i was able to communicate right.
EDIT: I just tried in another computer. Same error appears. :'(
Hummm why follow a Unbrick Topic with tools for ...3T ?
Maybe you have a encryption problem, all your Tools/Topic are so old for the actual versions (Oreo 8.X OOS / 8.1 OOS)
I advise to you (in the first time), to flash this TWRP (using fastboot, very simple) just follow this guide : here
If you can flash TWRP, your phone is not bricked, you will boot in TWRP:
- Format Data > tape "yes" > Reboot in TWRP
- Copy/Past xXx 10.0 ROM to test, install and xXx Rom will fix/install for you the best OOS Custom ROM for your OP5 with a great Aroma Installer.
If TWRP with this rom work perfectly, you wil able to restore a official stock OOS for sure, just flash original/stock recovery (fastboot), wipe all data/partitions, install your OOS rom and it's fine
I think @cidsantiago says they bootloader isn't unlocked.
He needs to know that unlock the bootloader implies lost all /sdcard data and also installed apps and settings) before start the TWRP install process...

EDIT: Just tried this. My cellphone cant be recognized in fastboot devices. As a said, i am not getting any response for him, just when i plug it in the PC. Wipe your device data from the stock recovery.
You loss the settings and downloaded apps but not requires to unlock the bootloader.

I guess i have to do something to restore the basics partitions of my cellphone. Like recovery, boot, etc. But i just have the official tool to do that. There is another way? Like transfering directly by the COM port?

Don't worry though, it happens to plenty of people. It happened to me as well, and everyone eventually fixes it. It is unlikely that it is a hardware problem, so just following the correct steps should get it working. Keep trying stuff out, it's very good that your computer recognizes it as a qualcomm port, as far as I know that's all you need to flash the necessary things in order for it to boot.

Then i have to hold power and turn off the green led. :T Maybe i can use a linux to access the partitions?

yeah... But it is kind of weird. He was running smoothly, until suddenly started lag and freeze. He didn't fall or any of that... I think is just a defective phone. Doesn't find another explanation to that.
I think your best option is to RMA the device through OnePlus. Since you haven't rooted it or anything, they should repair it for you.
