Hi guys, I bought a droid pro from the US but having come from the Nexus S, the motoblur customisation is too much to take over not having a physical keyboard so I'm just going to sell it on.
It's unlocked, rooted, running Gingerbread and has an 8GB SD card in it.
I have it on ebay item number 220864169230

Hey guys, glad to finally be on the forum (I've spent a loooong time reading but never posting ).
Here's my issue: Recently I bought a Galaxy S2X with Koodo on a tab plan, and so far I am loving the phone. However, recent news of the Nexus 4 has gotten my attention. Koodo has a 14-day money back guarantee on all their phones, and I bought the phone on Sunday past (the 28th) so I still have some time to return it. My question is, is the Nexus 4 a better phone? Because I can buy the S2X outright from Koodo for $300, and the Nexus is similarly priced. Is it worth returning the Galaxy, being phoneless for two weeks, and then getting the Nexus? I know nobody has had hands on experience, so it's gonna be hard to tell. I wish I could wait for some reviews to pop up about the Nexus 4, but I can't wait that long, a phone is essential (obviously).
What do you guys think?
Cheers, Tristan.
You can watch reviews of the optimus g, as they have the same screen, without the buttons, and spec sheet.
If your into androud development, have a phone to use during the 2 week wait, liker being on the latest android version, and don't like the touchwiz overlay do it because it is a beast.
If you're happy using your s2x, and like the way it is keep it, its a good phone too, and the 2 weeks without a phone would be horrible. If you want the $299 one it will have 8gb of storage, so if your used to the 16gb and expandable storage in the s2x don't.
I also own S II X from Telus myself. I am getting Nexus 4 for one of my family members to replace HD2 I guess it all depends your need and price you pay for it. No doubt Nexus 4 ' s price is very attractive. However I think S II X for 300 is also a good price.
If you do not mind the none-removable battery and no sd slot then you will love Nexus 4 no doubt. I currently have 2 spare batteries that I use in rotation for my S II X because android phones do drain quite fast and I want to save time connecting charger to my phone directly because phone has to be connected while charging. I am on the move alot. I also like having large collection of videos and music on my phone even though I can take advatange of true unlimited data plan to use cloud storage. ( I used over 10 gb last month, no throtlling and no cap).
I just gotta have battery option and sd card slot but its just me. It may not matter for you.
So I guess it's all up to your preference.
Thanks guys. I think I'll probably return the S2x and wait for the nexus, it looks snazzy and also Jelly bean looks good too.
I recently bought a HTC One X quad. am i'm returning it and waiting for the Nexus 4. I wondered why Google don't make micro sd slot and/or add 32 GB? I would certainly pay more for it.

My only possible thought is maybe it was an agreement with LG. After all, the Nexus 4, for the price, is superior in many ways, so there has to be SOME incentive to get the optimus G. That's my two cents!
Guys, I'll only be in the states till christmas before I head back to my home country. Since I was unable to order a Nexus 4, I'm now looking for alternatives with a budget of $450. Is there any unlocked phone that you would suggest?
Btw kinda impressed by the Xiaomi phone specs...anyone knows if its available in retail stores all over China?
Thanks!
The good old Galaxy Nexus still has plenty of life :]
I have used All Samsung Galaxies including S4 and using HTC one currently(AT&T Model). I really liked the G2. I am very desperate to buy this phone. So this thread is mainly to share the places where you can buy this phone, coupons if any. I am looking for AT&T compatible version only since i want to take advantage of the LTE. We can share places for International Version also.
Hopefully this an Unlocked AT&T Version Pre-order($619 only):

International Version Unlocked- available right now($900).. Removable battery and Slot for Microsd card, Not compatible with AT&T LTE, works on 3G though:

...and if your in the UK

Good post
Thanks for these information.
Mediamarkt in Germany lists it for 499€ http://www.mediamarkt.de/mcs/product/LG-G2-weiß,48353,464028,900020.html?langId=-3
It's the 16 gb version though. Compared to galaxy s4 which costs 519€ I'd say we are in for a very nice price like the optimus g when it came.
Where buy NY
Hello,
My girlfriend goes to NY in november, so where i can buy LG G2 cheaper?
I saw in bestbuy but, is very expensive. Here in Brasil is much more, i know, but, in amazon i found about 200 dollar less...and i want a physically store...Some Help?
I got mine on Sunday for $49 from Best Buy. First they price-matched the Amazon.com price of $99 (down from their price of $199). Then they had a promotion going with the G2 where if you traded in any old working smartphone they'd give you a $50 gift card to use towards the purchase. Couldn't pass up that deal.
EDIT: Damn, meant to post this in the Tmobile S5 section.
Hi,
I'm on an S2 T989 w/ CM rom on tmobile prepaid for close to 4 years now and I'm feeling an upgrade. My criteria are: New phone (or equivalent), $300 max, removable battery, SD card expansion, OLED screen, tmobile prepaid compatible, root and custom ROM available.
This limits my options and it seems the S5 is the best choice. I'm not really willing to compromise on any of those features. I don't mind having an older phone, obviously, it will still be a huge upgrade coming from the S2.
Is the G900T the model I want? I see stuff about locked bootloader. Also the Verizon variant reportedly works with tmobile, but maybe not on all 4G bands, is there any benefit vs the G900T?
I bought this S2 from Walmart for prepaid plan on a sale for $300. Walmart has the S5 available for $350, but I see this phone on ebay "new" at $250 and swappa "mint" at $200. As I've never purchased anything but a retail phone, what should I look out for? The ebay ones all say new but open box (so they can unlock, supposedly). I'm afraid they're just putting in refurbs or something. I saw one seller claim they're overstock contract phones and they guaranteed a clean IMEI, is this a safe route? I'm not sure if it would have manufacturer warranty, either, but saving $100 over walmart is tempting. At least I can do my own repair to an extent, I replaced my S2 screen and other parts over the years.
Can an unlocked contract phone be used with tmobile prepaid? I see no reason why not, but one ebay seller said they don't guarantee prepaid compatibility.
Anyone want to dissuade me from this path?
Thanks for any help. Sorry if I'm not breaking any rules here
Hey guys! Don't kill me for asking all these questions, but..
I'm currently using a Nexus 5x, but it's gone bad (Melts chargers, usb data connection melted, etc)
I'm really interested in the Moto G5 Plus, but, I'm having difficulties finding it in person, so i intend to order one online!
So my questions go:
I have only seen two varients, a 32GB-2GB, and a 64GB-4GB. Is this it? Are they all "Potter" And will work with this rom?
Is the bootloader difficult to unlock? i see some kind of scrubber and pasting of data on a website i found.. seems kinda simple but i wanna be sure ♥
Is it safe to buy one on Amazon? The 32GB Variant is currently on sale. Is it safe to use the "Moto Maker"?
I see "DTV for XT1683 model" is broken. What is "DTV" and which model is XT1683?
Thanks for your consideration! ♥
EDIT: Too late, bought the 64GB Varient from Amazon. Wish me luck!
I just picked one up for my wife and have been pleasantly surprised. Of course we are coming from 3 yr old phones, so anything is an upgrade. Having the finger print reader, fast charge, adequate camera (certainly better than the LG G3 camera), unlockable boot loader, etc all for $180 for the non ad 32gb version I feel it is an incredible bargain.
I hope you got the non-ad version from Amazon as you cannot unlock the boot loader on the ad version. That is the only issue to watch out for. You can get rid of the ads on the ad version, but there is currently isn't a method to unlock the boot loader (and likely never will be).
Enjoy!

Which G5 Plus did you buy? The cheaper Amazon subsidized version or the slightly more expensive non amazon subsidized version?
If you bought the Amazon subsidized version just note that the root process will likely be different than the non subsidized version. See this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/help/resolved-root-moto-g5-plus-amazon-t3652932
Its a good phone with one or two issues however. Moto is apparently rolling out today a potential fix (see this post in their support subforums) for the poor/garbled audio on Verizon, no word yet if it works or if it fixes any of the other issues (like low volume on headset) the phone has.
