I think is caused by different signature certs
Hello
Just to see if I got it right.
I unlock my mk16i using the code provided by Sony. Now i can't update using PC companion or SEUS, because they both say, I've got modified software installed.
Will this fix this isue and allow me to install the upgrades directly from Sony?

Can't update
I can't update my Neo V MT11i......it says "Your phone contains modified software" while i update through Update Service .....what to do any suggetion?
hi guys is there a way to find out what the original network lock for the phone is...for example if it is originally on o2 before it was unlock. and how can i tell if it was unlocked via setool? when i bought the phone it was already unlocked.
So practically now if I flash for example .42 firmware with my bootloader unlocked and search for updates and get notified about .62 firmware, OTA Update it, when the new firmware is installed, my phone won't brick anymore? Or I have to patch it or fix it with this tool? I mean did Sony fixed their firmwares to work on unlocked bootloaders too?
great promises and dead links.
I hope the guy made trillons in donations.
would have been useful to tell others a lil bit how this worked and whether other models can do similar things.
but no, the secret went down togther with the op's website

Hey guys, Im a long time XDA user.
Just got the Arc few days ago. It's a Rogers 2.3.4 ; .42 version. The bootloader can't be unlocked.
I have rooted it using DoomLords method.
However I cannot find a Generic Firmward, so that I can unlock bootloader and get recovery to get the custom roms. All of the links lead to MultiUpload. One linked to a site which only allowed 1 download per day.
Can someone please lead me to a link that works to get generic a (pre/un-rooted .ftf a version that is also no .62 is preffered as it cannnot be rooted.
Thanks a lot.

Any free way to unlock rogers xperia arc bootloader?
Good day my friends:laugh:
I will show you how to relock the bootloader of XZ
Flashtool version used: flashtool-0.9.10.2beta
Download the latest Flashtool ( found in OG android development forum)
Install the Flashtool drivers found in the drivers folder
Connect phone in Flash-mode (phone shut down, volume down + power)
Press the BLU button
Press the relock option
Put a stock .tft firmware in the Flashtool firmwares folder (this is required!!)
Flash the firmware (this is required!!)
Done
You will now have a locked stock xperia z
Extra info by Flashtool developer:
A litte explanation :about relocking / unlocking :
When relocking the device, I save the unlock code into custom\DEVICESERIAL\unlock.txt
If ever you relocked using another method than BLU from FT (with a custom ftf for example), then you must create this file by hand to be able to unlock the device again.
This file must contain the unlock code. One line only, no carriage return.
i am not responsible for bricked devices
can you link to the Flashtool version you are using just to save any confusion
is it no any problem after using this method to relock Xperia Z???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162907
The OP describes more about relocking and then unlocking again.
Would this be enough for a warranty repair/replace? Or would, say, Amazon have access to a list of unlocked device IMEIs?

Version .266 rooted and no success on updating to .201
Hi there,
I have a Xperia SP build number 12.1.A.0.266, with CWM installed and rooted with Doomlord kernel.
Last week I received the notification to upgrade to version 1.201.
Via Sony Companion, no deal: there comes an error message (Error 2003) after the phone reboots.
Donwloading the new version directly by the phone and installing: Phone reboots, starts CWM with and error message (unknow package / unknow signature) and even trying to run that, I receive an error message and right then a warning, that root has to be rebuild.
I rebuild it, device reboots and nothing changes.
Any help on that?

Ehehehe, not really
I guess I couldn't make myself clear, but the phone didn't locked or got stucked on Sony Logo.
Right after I fix Root, it reboots normally and continues working.
But still then, It wont upgrade to v .201 - wheter by Sony Companion or downloading via Update Center and flashing it on Recovery mode.
Both ways lead to Errors and I'm still working on version 0.266.
I'd appreciate any further videos with instructions or a solution on that =)
Btw, I've browsed some further and found on other xda forum a Greek .ftf file with v.201 to flash.
Should that be safe in order to upgrade?

If you haven't already unlocked your boot loader, you're pretty much screwed and have to live with the terrible firmware Motorola released for it.
You can root your device now, and can uninstall bloatware, but you can't put a new ROM on there unless a boot loader unlock exploit is found.
