Well, I'd post mine, but it'd take an hour to upload the screenshot over 3G.
I get like 25-150k 70% of the time; 250-400k 20% of the time; 600-1000k 10% of the time.
Sprint's 3G is complete ****. iPhone ready whateverrrrrr.
Sad trombone

Yeah but think of network congestion in other places where the population is so much greater.

Absolutely. I'm in DC, I typically get full bars where I live, now I'm getting 1-1x.

Be grateful for what you do have. At least you have some signal and the phone still makes calls.
During Katrina, only SMS & Nextel direct connect worked... sporadically. Calling in & out of the 504 area code was impossible. Once I was able to get to Atlanta, I was able to make calls again; though receiving calls was very hit or miss.
Well it is more or less a couple days after a hurricane....
They probably had some towers or main lines go down/knocked out

Well I did suspect that this would happen. I didn't expect for this to happen.
Verizon and ATT are fine in my area. Tmobile and Sprint seem to be the ones suffering (of course they are both the cheapest). Get what you pay for I guess.

Ditto.
For about a month or so it's been painfully slow here in southern CO too.
So bad that I can hardly use it.
I have been getting 100 kbps down and 200 kbps up here where I live. When I did a side by side test with a friend with a Verizon phone he was getting 1.3 mbps down and 400 kbps up. This is in central California.
Its been days now. Speed and signal has improved but still getting .03mbps downloads.
Sprint has me for another 10months =[.

Lol, that's blazing? I'm trying out the sg3 on Verizon after being an att customer for 10 years, currently with the sgs2. I'm amazed at how slow the network is when not on lte. Itsonly slightly faster than edge. Hopefully it's just a bad area. Lte download was fast, but not uploads.
Will see how it is for the next 2 weeks.

I almost feel spoiled here in Miami. Those speeds are slow compared to the HSPA+ we have down here. Easily pull down 5-7Mb/ps.
Edit: to answer your question, though, it could be that AT&T is just upgrading their 3G (HSDPA<HSUPA<HSPA+; all 3G technologies) in your area. I assume 3G is better the closer you get to a large city and they're just rolling their network outwards and they've reached you.
Getting 20+ on HSPA+ here in Boynton.
I never get over 1 meg on 4g here in Colorado Springs with tmo. Ugh.

In Aurora CO and did these test out of curiosity. Sprint might be stepping up their game, because these are the best 3G speeds I've ever gotten. I know still pretty lame comepard to HSPA+, but nonetheless good enough for me.

Just interested in seeing some peoples speed results with specific carrier. I have Sprint, and I must say that speeds are suuuuper slow where I live. I just want to show people what a general good range of speeds are for carriers.
So I'll ask if you can post your speed test results, what carrier you have, along with City and state. Oh, and 4G or 3G.
Mine is from Riverside, CA (Sprint/3G)

But this testing I think depends (to get a real measure) of the area with good signal. That will give us a better results to compare it.
Strange that I'm located in okc but speed results prove best out of Kansas. Any thoughts? Also speed test says I'm closer to that location then I am to okc when I can see okc with my naked eye. Lol

Not sure why it defaulted to Yellowknife, CAN. as the closest server, but the numbers are pretty similar to speed tests using the AT&T server that's 5 miles from my house. Latency is a bit more though. 120ms for Yellowknife and 99ms for Anchorage, AK AT&T server.
From all around Bakersfield CA. Unfortunately only about 5-7 Mbps at home.
