what is it doing or not doing?

Looks like you are using compression to create the zip. You need to zip in a non compressed format...

Interesting, I get a larger file size when I create the zip...

What did yo use to make the desc.txt?
Notepad sometimes doesnt' work too good.
I tried to make a new one using Notepad++
and it seems to be good. (tested and it's working)
Here I uploaded it, just rename to bootanimation.zip

[Q] How to place a sound in bootanimation

How do you place a sound in a bootanimation?
I know that the sound name should be andorid_audio.mp3, but I don't know where it should be placed.
Thanks for any reply/help you can provide.
Astro
I'm pretty sure that the sound should be placed in the same directory as the bootanimation.zip, but not inside the zip.
as far as sence roms go, it should be in either /data/local, or /system/customise/resource

I tried inside the data\local directory, where the bootanimation.zip is placed, but it did not work.
Can you confirm that the naming is right though , i.e. that it should be called android_audio.mp3?
Thanks for your help flash.

Thanks AndroHero,
I'm running the Aurax so a sense rom.
I haven't tried the system/customize/resource folder so I will give it a shot, since the data/local folder did not work for me.
Thanks for your help man!
Astro
If your using auroxtsence then it is /system/customise/resource, i used to use that rom

[BOOT ANIMATION] Bubbles. And Bubbles and Particles Ring

After posting my custom boot animation for Oxygen, I’ve been asked to bake it with android to make it more universal.
So here I come
Two version, with and without particles ring
Hope you like it, this is the video of the PNG sequence with the particles ring
And this is a video of the PNG sequence without the particles ring
PNG is 394×394 pixels, but you will see a full width animation (nice trick!)
Files can be found here
Animation is also available as a Live Wallpaper in my apk here
Hope you like it. If so, use thank button or donation (I'll appreciate it. LOL)
can't download the zip file nothing on your site no zip file to download
are you sure? File has been downloaded 311 times in less then 12 hours.
Try again.

Love the circle with bubbles, would be great to have the android replaced with oxygen as I also run a blue theme. Let me know if you decide at anytime in the future as this is the best bootanimation I have used.

Renamed it to bootanimation.zip and copied it in /data/local but no luck... Any other way than ADB ?
Which rom are you running? Try system/media. Or search your rom for bootanimation.zip and replace it.
Are you running a sense rom?

That is the first thing I did. It first asked confirmation for replacing a system app. When I gave 'Ok' it says 'Application not installed'. Because of this only I tried copying the files to system/app folder.

This is not the one. I'm talking about the Nexus One's default wallpaper, which will be available in LG P500's stock froyo ROM also. I think it will be available in the first set of apks you provided. But I'm facing the issue of installing.
Anyway thanks for your help mate. I'll try to install those apks somehow.
Try Nexus Revamped Pro on Market.
And what about Microbes live wallpaper from Nexus? It has been ported to SGS, so is it possible to have this in OO?

try renaming the name or extension (so that you still have the file there in case anything goes wrong) and then try installing the apk. i had to do that for one of my system apps

Please use the 'search' tool..
Plus VigiDroid recently typed a guide for resizing .xml's.
A real dev should know what to do instead of opening these useless threads.
You shouldn't be too harsh to him. He was either unsure or confused on what to do.

Look at the other threads he have opened. The answers to all his questions are just somewhere at XDA (I think he can imagine that) so the next step is using the 'search' tool.
I think everyone can do this.

Wait did you even read my guide...? Nothing about values-mdpi... If you read the guide correctly you would learn that to resize you have to edit the values in xml files in /res/layout or /res/layout-mdpi or /res/layout-port or /res/layout-land
And it doesn't just happen all correctly with one change of a file and majority of the time when you change something you notice nothing has changed, this happens to me all the time, it just takes patience to get it right!

Sorry my friend but i must correct you the .xml files that you must edit are not in the res/layout or res/layout-mdpi folder they are indeed in the res/values and res/values-mdpi folders unless i'm mistaken but as i resized your lockscreen for SenseOnFire rom those were the .xml files i edited

Are you questioning my experience? haha
Now you see it seems I have overlooked lockscreen (which is why I could not get it to resize) nearly every other app you have to modify the .xml files in the layout folder but as a general rule you should just go and look into every .xml file and try and note if anything might be related to a layout..

Editing XML wierd characters

Hello!
I'm trying to edit one of the XML's of the S Health app so hopefully I can discover some way to hide some info from the widget. However opening the said XML file in Notepad++ gives me a bunch of weird characters.. How do I procede?

Hi,
You cannot just pull out the file and edit it. You need to learn to decompile it first and then edit. When done, recompile. Hope this helps ?

Ahh I thought it was the same as when replacing images, just change the file in 7z and resign the app.
How would one go àbout the most easy/fast way to decompile? I am no developer, I just want to edit out some text that is displayed on a widget by removing a couple of ljnes in the XML (I guess), nothing fancy. I don't want to be installing SDKs and what not..

The easiest way is this mate :
1. Download tickle my android.
2. Download java applet 6U25.
3. Framework.resapk and other abc-res.apk.
4. Run tickle my android and decompile.
