Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. been stalking the forum for quite a while now and am finally getting around to posting. My EVO has been rooted since day 1 when if first came out. I love my device and will keep it till the power button falls off. lol.. anyway, Im feeling the atmosphere here and look forward to many many more posts.

Dont know. I was always on a mission to get in and get out. lol.. plus every question i would have was always answered so it was no need to repost what was already asked or said. i see people get reamed out for that.

I always wondered how you got senior status. I am older than dirt so I knew it wasn't age. I have been a member since March 2006 so it is not how long you have been a member. I am smart, good looking, and modest but no one could know that.
Then I hit 100 posts and I became a senior member but I did not get any bonus gift or anything like that. Old age is not for sissy's and life is tough.
Edit: Now it shows "OP". Maybe that means "Old Person".

The only playa I knew anything about are the playa lakes around lubbock but then I did the google thing and found that a playa could also be "Playa, colloquial spelling of "player".
Outdated player would fit fit me.
Getting a reply from the famous Toast was cool.
Edit: Also found out what l33t stood for. Now I can be a l33t outdated playa.

Yeah...I hate it when these dorks rag on you for asking a simple question know that one day they asked questions themselves...every question can't be answered by searching, and even still, if it's an Aria question why not have the answer right here in the Aria forum instead of diving through many different forums to get a simple answer.
But to answer your question. In my opinion Gingerbread is not "much" different than Froyo so I would say that yes it should be powerful enough to run it. Froyo on the Aria runs great and they say that Gingerbread is faster and smoother, so I can only believe that the experience should be the same on the Aria. Time will tell.

I'm just horsing around. I'm not offended and I'm just busting ass in return! I moderate several forums on various subjects and it's funny how people love to flame the newcomers who ask questions that have been answered before. Some questions were answered 10 years before. This is a little different and I will try to read through as many backposts as possible to get a feel for the subject matter!

Guys. Chill out with the pushing for AOSP, CM, and others to push out a GB ROM. It is completely inappropriate, and disrespectful to what everyone here has done for the community. I'm beyond sick of seeing frantic posts left and right about how "ZOMG I AM DYING FOR GB!!!!1111oneoneone" et al.
Enough is enough, please. and no, nobody asked me to post this... I'm simply fed up with that nonsense polluting threads left and right when the devs are people just like you and me. It's an insult to their talent, time, and efforts.

I second eliseexige. We all want Gingerbread and, yes, most of our devs work wonders when it comes to building ROMs but we must have petience. Devs aren't magicians, they are normal human beings, most of which have jobs.

I agree with the OP to some degree. Also, for all those who use the ROMs, I think that donations should be a no-brainer. However, I don't think its wrong to ask for news, we are all excited about the ROMS and are constantly checking the forums for them. I just don't see the harm in asking (demanding is one thing).

There's no harm, but it's relatively pointless to ask, since rarely are there ETAs for them. Plus, it makes reading through threads to be a bit of a chore when it gets constantly bumped with people asking "When is this coming out?!?!" (also it must be really annoying for the devs).

I have actively not been working on Gingerbread.
I have yet to set up 64bit for it.
I have instead spent the entire weekend in an awesome coma due to multiple alcoholic beverages.
I did pass my finals though. It was great.
Tomorrow, I set up 64bit MM.
Ok.
Now someone move this post to general.

I'm not going to be able to be on xda 24/7 like I usually am for the next two weeks. Just came in d/l, installed. Had the coolest Android green gears ani. I have ever seen. Haven't had time to check it out. Keep your eyes open for it, do manual check for it.
Yeah the new spinning gears inside the Android during the update were really cool. I kinda freaked out when they froze for about a minute at the end of the process. Still the standard Android boot logo after the update though.
New version: Acer_A500_4.010.13_COM_GEN2 (previously was on 4.010.11)
Does anyone know what this patch does? I happily report it does not break root access, nor did it break my Netflix library fix. Also, my same tun.ko still works.

Hey look im sorry but i was in a bad mood and maybe could have a bit more gentle. its just that i have been seeing threads ALL OVER THE PLACE about updates and there are sooo many dumb threads and duplicates that I got pissed off. Im sorry to you, the other guys can kiss my ass because they are behind (probably where they like it lol) because they are doing EXACTLY what I did if you think about it
I think there is a big need for more mods here.

I appreciate your response but it seems as a result of this whole thing I was put on probation because of the original ? post, kind of ticks me off to put it mildly ! No reason as to why. I completely understand when you have a bad day & respond the way you did I've done the same thing.
Oh to heck with it, who knows what or how the powers that be think.

Hey Johny, prior to this post in my posts, there was name then under that member. Since this thread I had member [ OP] , maybe I'm misinterpreting the meaning. I was really tired & irritable late last night. (grumpy old man syndrome) doesn't really matter today. I've always been curious what the letters designate & just assumed. Thanks for the concern.
