Hey guys/gals my speaker is torn using xLoud i did't use it much only 5-10 mins 2-3 day...
So i say please don't use xLoud even a second!
Request at ROM DEVs please don't include it and don't give an add on!
I will be posting a sample...
Sample here
(The sound in sample is the same as my speaker)
I warned people against this long ago..
You can hear it crackling at higher volumes.
I even said that I guaranteed people would be reporting blown speakers.

Many people just keep xLoud on i just use it like 5 mins in 2-3 days when i m in collage coz of noice around...
yeah, true that, but it really helps when your listening to music with headphones.
Our X10 hardware is very delicate. I sometimes worry that my processor might get blown away due to overclocking. So I havent messed up with UV or OV my CPU.

Lol UV would save your CPU, it couldn't possibly harm it.
If you don't overclock, but still undervolt, this would be good for the chip
---------- Post added at 07:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:03 PM ----------
Voltage = Current * Resistance -> V = IR . CPU
has a fixed resistance and is having a fixed
voltage applied, so I = V /R. Decreasing V will
therefore decrease I proportionally.
Also, Power, P = VI = V * (V /R)= V ^2 / R, so
decreasing the voltage also decreases power
usage, and therefore heat output.
thanks for the report
I read on xda that xLoud has nothing to do with headphones...but only speakers.
It definately damaged my speaker a little bit. It dosen't sound as clear anymore though I've disabled it long ago.

Dev already informed that xLoud is not suitable for x10 speaker HW. Any damages it on thier own responsibilities (i can see a lot of peoples asking for xLoud to be ported into any rom that they are using). Anyone who dont want to take the risk, just off xLoud.

Yo.. i'm not shocked.
I remember saying the same thing.
Even the DSP alone could push the limit.

I keep the option just so it looks cool being there but NEVER switch it on. Ever.

I'm curious as to how that's possible...
I don't think the Dev will allow this to happen. With DSP my u20i auto adjusts the volume to cater for the changes made. however xLoud doesn't seem to keep it's setting. I'm using MiniCM7 Pro V20. Any Ideas how to keep my xLoud setting?

Modded default file a little to my liking volume wise, this is very much a work in progress, if your Transformer burns up a speaker or the sound card, don't hold me responsible, BUT on a good note it works for me and volume is very decently increased, so if your feeling lucky (punk) give it a try. You just might be pleased with the results. Good luck and happy modding! =]
Also as a side note, I have heard stories of blown left speakers, so be extra careful with the one with the speaker fix, as this is unexplored territory except from one user who did have good result's, so only use if you are aware that it may damage your HARDWARE for good...
Confirmed working on voodoo sound, but I would suggest using the medium one, no higher.
KEEP IN MIND THIS ALSO INCREASES HEADPHONE OUTPUT, BE CAREFUL SO AS TO NOT DAMAGE YOUR HEARING!!
This file was in the same folder, however I don't understand it's function, but incase you had it and erased it, here it is:
http://www.multiupload.com/EXJZ50M6IN
Original config file: http://www.multiupload.com/MRJ2V98G3W
Risky one (full output potential):http://www.multiupload.com/7L8S4I6GKF
Medium Risk one (Recommended): http://www.multiupload.com/WVKJVU5U7A
Risky one with speaker balance mod (SOMEWHAT UNTESTED!!): http://www.multiupload.com/61HP5V3M0U
Medium risk one with left speaker fix (ALSO UNTESTED!): http://www.multiupload.com/MFI035ZL65
You must reboot for the changes to apply.
If you take it for a spin, please post your opinions on sound quality and volume so others can get a good idea of what this file does
All credit to xda members freeza and verkion for the balance fix file, I simply edited his file.
Edit: you will find the stock file in system/data
Edit: Be sure to backup your original file, and if you don't know how to replace the file, you shouldn't be playing with this lol
Edit: If you hear distortion, lower the volume, as distortion will blow speakers faster than overpowering them
Also as a side note I run the full output one with good results, full volume is now usually to loud lol, does sound *SLIGHTLY* tinny, but once you get used to it, the increase in volume is worth the trade off, and if you miss the stock volume, either turn it down or re-apply your stock file.
If you like this, please click the thanks link =]
If you have any issues feel free to contct me at my personal email at [email protected], but only if it is important please.

I advise people to be very careful with volume on transformer. I blew my left speaker using configs etc and just received my transformer back from warranty repair (thankfully fixed
I really dont advise using configs like this but there is a need to make volume higher.
I have tried everything and found the safest way which is what i use now is a small app from the market called 'VOLUME+' , link below.
I set my speakers to a +5 boost in options, nothing else and volume is much higher, crisp and safe.

Wouldn't it be wise then to create a few modified files and label them according to how safe they are? (eg. Dangerous, moderate, safe) that could potentially work...

Link fixed, I apologize, also this will work for headphones as long as you don't run voodoo sound, if you do I'm not to sure, but without voodoo sound it also boost's headphone volume as well, and quite a bit on that note while still retaining clarity.
I fixed the balance issue with my left speaker (tweaking the config file) But there are times I am scare that the left will dead. There has been people that have blown out the left side. I ended up getting a portable speaker Monster ClarityHD (yeah I know Monster....) but the speaker is pretty good. 6 hrs on bluetooth and battery life is not that bad.

This also boost's headphone output so it wil increase the volume of your portable speakers as well, but possibly for the worse.

That was my fear in releasing the one with the left speaker fix, but the bad is the only way to know how the file will afffect it is to wait to hear from more user's on the result's they have.
by the way we have to restart the transformer before it takes effect?

Correct, Xloud was around 20% louder in the previous update.
This means music/movie playback through the loudspeakers are noticeably not as loud.
However I do believe there are hack/apps that allow us to increase the sound output?
Thing is you have to be rooted...
No big deal though, sound is still good enough...
Not Doomlorded yet.
these are the problems im getting:
app2sd causes reboots
data conflict (fcs)
and those 2 things are effing huge man! im going to need a new FTF
They probably reduced the volume of xloud because they found out that it was damaging speakers, Just like when my friends used VLC on his laptop and forced the volume 300% higher than it was meant to go... needless to say his laptop speakers now dont work haha.

boys and true, and xloud been downgraded and now and 'almost nothing compared to 2.3.3 which was really powerfull. Please Doomlord wants to put his to improve it and hopefully we can do :-(
the original xloud was an overkill anyway.. i wouldn't use that level of volume if you ask me, i have 2.1 speakers lying around!
That's why I'm still enjoying my xLOUD now while waiting for 2.3.4 OTA..
As for PSxperia I don't care if it's not working anymore coz I'm using FPSE for PSx games..

Aww. I thought this was a free pair of Beats Audio for Gingerbread users.
Darn it ... I've been waiting for this, but I'm on ICS
I would post in the original topic asking for help, but my posting privileges don't allow me yet so here it is. I tried flashing that zip using OpenRecovery on my Motorola Milestone with CM7, but I keep getting an error: Status 0 and then "Installation aborted". Can I only flash that using CWM, or is there something wrong with the files? I already renamed the zip to "update.zip" just in case.

In the original topic, someone already responded to this question: you first need to mount /system manually.
Turned off equalizer and tuning in Poweramp and listened before and after flashing this. Undoubtly a huge difference, at least I like it
Problem is its an equalizer with settings non changeable .
Does it make any difference ???
My tests 50% No 50% maybe .
But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and placebos can also work for some .
Nandroid backup install and try is all you can do as its not removable .
Further tests
Volume level is probably up by 1%.
Playback is the same as my current setup apart from a bit of distortion at the peak with louder sounds . A bit like standing next to the instrument rather than in the audience .

Also possible that your zip file is corrupt. Download again.
In the original thread they mentioned they tried it on CM7, MIUI and CM9, and claimed that it even works on ICS.

Holly f*ck, it works like hell with Voodoo LOUDER, Mixzing and the Eq on it and a AKG k518DJ
You don't have any icon, if you want, just check with RootExplorer "System/bin", you'll see some file like this "basimage_ibeats_isolo.bin"
So yes you can flash the zip with any GB (mine is Hyperdroid with Siyah)
---------- Post added at 05:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:46 PM ----------
If you have a good Eq AND you know how to set it, you'll not have more bass!
It feel like a filter, the bass is deeper, clearer, the med also and the trebble too
-> It really makes the sound clearer
It's makes a huuuge difference with a 320 Kbps mp3 or FLAC and a real headphone and with high quality earphone, and it's even better with voodoo LOUDER wich hacking the hardware of my phone
Who said for GB only?
I flashed it before my work was over, so I was able to directly hook it up to my car stereo. I am running AOKP (ICS 4.0.3 AOSP), so I didnt expect it to work.
So, I fired up PowerAMP and played right away. It wasnt much of a difference, since the PowerAMP EQ and Tone-Filter were still active. I know how it sounds without those 2 options, since I drive alot within the week and my Phone is hooked up to my car stereo like every time.
I listen to heavy tunes, bass-focused, mainly Dubstep and DnB.
So I switched those 2 options OFF within PowerAMP and WHOMP!
I mean, really! There is a pretty significant improvement in sound quality.
It sounds better than with activated EQ and Tone-Filter from PowerAMP.
Very crisp bass, but with more force and power.
Mid-Tones are clearer when heavy bass lines kick in.
I was like "WTF"...
Then I fired up Simfy (german edition of Spotify) and even there I got a significant improvement in sound.
I am pretty surprised, since I didnt think it would work on ICS since its been promoted for Gingerbread "Only". But I can say, there is a difference, and if not, I must be high on crack or something ....
PS: I even have the imagination it increases the default Volume Levels. I usually have a pretty fixed setup while driving and listening music (Volume Levels) and I really had the feeling that it was louder in general...
As I have said earlier, I guess supercurio confirms it on his twitter.

Reminds me of the SE Bravia nonsense that was floating around. This is why companies like Bose and Monster Cable make money hand-over-fist.
You're likely listening to 192 kbps (or less) MP3 files on a set of sub $20 headphones, no amount of compression/EQ can help that.
Improved the audio quality quite a bit. Specially on WIDE effect in settings. Crisp & more clear

However Voodoo Sound is not just about boosting volume. I had it on my SGS1, and it greatly improved the overall sound quality as well. I cant really explain it as I am by no means an audiophile, however all I know is that Voodoo Sound left me with a smile on my face whilst listening to music.

I used voodo on SGSII and that just boosted volume, in saying that it actually boosted it with no sound quality loss.. Not like volume+.
That mod does exactly what vodoo did on the SGSII im very impressed by this mod, the fact that it boosts over all sound on the phone is great.

Hello together,
i don´t find a similar Thread for the One with my Speaker problems. So i start a new one:
I got the following problem:
When i play a Sound with my Phone after 2-3 seconds the Speakers do a "klack" Sound in front of the shut down.
example:
When i press Volumen + or - the Phone plays a Sound, around 2-3 seconds later the Speaker do a "klack".
the problem seems for me similar with the problems the Galaxy Nexus got.
Someone can confirm that?
I get that with my Nexus 4 and almost every other Android phone i have used. I can mostly only hear it if i used some sort of volume boosting mod/app or if i hold my phone close to my ear after a sound is played. I think its normal, but annoying.
Wow, i thought i was the only one. I have the same issue. After playing a sound file (ring tone, music, anything), if you put the speakers to your ear you can hear a shhhh sound, then a "click" which almost sounds like the speakers "turn off". For some reason the same sound sometimes appears when opening a music app (such as HTC Music), as in the speakers get turned on OR some sort of amplifier gets applied. Turning off beats audio doesn't help. I got O2 (germany), 1.27 Stock rom. I'm tempted to try 1.28 custom rom to see if it's a software bug, but i am a bit afraid i might need warranty to get this fixed...
that is the sound of the amp / dac discharging. happens on my one x with and without earphones on

So it's normal? Can it be turned off or fixed via software?

I doubt that's possible on stock Rom, is it?
I have it also, not all devices have the problem but HTC is aware of it and working on a fix.

although it does click, but clicking to the point that is audible, i think something is wrong somewhere.. u might as well email htc about it
It's audible in a quiet environment when i have the phone close-ish to my face. Question is whether it's fixable via software update or whether i need hardware fix. I don't really feel like sending it in already...They'd probably say it is within tolerance anyhow.
I just wonder, tons of ppl complain about stuff such as "corner is too sharp, tiny gap etc", why don't more people complain about this noise if it is "normal"?

I have heard it's fixable by software
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Is it like the click of death heard when a hard drive is about to die? lol! Sorry just curious but don't have my HTC One yet.
You never had a decent amplifier, had you?
It's dedicated amp. All those devices "click" when turned on and off. There's nothing to be fixed, although the sound should be very quiet.
It's like hdd click of death indeed. Sound is quiet but audible.

Like I said, it's an amplifier turning off (and on as well to be precise - but usually this sound is more subtle).
I don't think this is an issue. It's just a fact of life with speakers.

ah , it shouldnt be that loud too, unless you're using earphones and u hear the click then it's fine. but if hearing it without speakers, i think it is insulated badly. like i said, try emailing htc
My Asus D2X Sound Card for my PC does that, always wondered what it was.
