A2SD vs S2E - EVO Shift 4G General

With all the talk of Amon Ra & twrp I have seen a lot of commentary pertaining to A2Sd. I have been running s2e for sometime now with very few problems, seems quick and responsive so long as app data isn't selected as well. Anyone done any comparison between these? I know s2e is CM7 only, leading me to believe it would be a better (read as: specialized) option for any of the CM7 variants. I have ran sucessfully on Shift-deck as well as Cyclonic.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Its similar to d.t.'s a2sd. Its an app though, I too as well just found out about this. I dl'd it from the market, got it set up, rebooted and it works well. My phone did get a little laggy for a few minutes after the reboot, but all is running smooth now. Running cyclonic rom...

Personally I avoid Apps2SD stuff that involves an ext partition. I like Google's with Cyanogenmod's enhancements version of Apps2SD, .secure. Personal experience with Apps2SD have been less then rewarding. Yes I had more space for apps, but in turn I lost stability and eventually my sdcard completely died in a few months. The built in .secure method hasn't given me any problems since I switched.

Damn drob, how much you got on your phone, don't think I've seen numbers that low.
This is an xda original script, the thread is still going:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...PK] S2E (simple2ext): app2sd for CyanogenMod7
Figured a before and after comparison would be nice. I move everything but the app data, which is about 85mb.

They did pull it. Only available for anyone with an N1 (or with a Rom that has the N1 market code apparently). If anyone has the USA N1 market code, i'll download it and post

Get Rooted stock, Radio/WiMAX/PRI/NV/Hboot updates in ROM Manager

Alrighty everyone, I finished up a little project I've been working on for the past few days.
If you open up ROM Manager on your phone, go to the ROM list, and scroll down to the bottom, you'll find "EVO Stock and Radios". This new repository has a number of 100% stock, rooted ROMs as well as flashable ZIPs to upgrade your Radio, WiMAX, PRI, NV, and Hboot (assuming you're S-OFF!). Hopefully this'll make things a bit easier for people just getting their EVO going and needing a hand upgrading their radios.

In addition, I created another repo just for the Google Apps add-on. From now on, if you or someone else forgets to flash the GApps, or just needs to upgrade for a new package, it's much easier! And once the ROM Manager manifest on koush's page updates, this *should* include Froyo/CM6 GApps as well! Nifty, eh?
Enjoy!
This is the epitome of awesome. Nice work man.

Best wiping before flashing

I was wondering what is the best wiping utility before flashing over a new rom? I always use to use OSHAKA Super Wipe for my other phone, I tried it on this and it didn't work, don't know why. Maybe its meant for just that phone?
I was going to go from synergy, to CM7 2.3 because I am sick of not having memory.
VR Superwipe, look in threads created by virus, you'll find it... By the way, wrong section for a question, prepare for some thunder and lightning.... Lol

You have been THANKED!
The best wiping Utility is in your recovery, if you use Amon Ra. You don't NEED Super Wipe scripts.
Honestly in the hundreds of flashes that I have done, I have never used a wipe zip.
I prefer to do it by hand each item 2 to 3 times to ensure a good and through wipe.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
I used to do it manually but now I just run a vr superwipe and then I just wipe the caches
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I have used a few (Calkulin's and Viper's) but I prefer to manually wipe each partition in recovery as well. I used Amon Ra and never had any problems, now I use the updated one that drellisd (I think that's his name) wrote and I just manually wipe each partition once and never have any problems. I always wipe everything but recovery, wimax, and android.secure.
