how to solve wifi problem (for me worked) - Xperia Arc General

some day ago i change my home adsl router-wifi ap, and i was looking into the wifi setting: there is the possibility to select the bandwitch.
i try to set 40 Mhz in both bands but i note that the phone disconnect itself sometimes so give a try to set 20 Mhz in both bands, the result is no more disconnection.
don't know if is only fate or if there is an issue regarding the 40Mhz bandwitch, or may be is an issue of my router.
this is my wifi network configuration:
-band 2,4 Ghz
-channel 1
-bandwitch 20 Mhz in both bands
-rate auto
-fragmentation 2346 (my router default)
-wpa2-psk
if you are having some problem with wifi try to change configuration if you can.
plese post if this work for you or your configuration.

i also noticed with my arc WiFi would not work properly if i was using mixed mode authentication on my router..

[Q] Widget to toggle 5ghz/2.4ghz

Hiya folks I am hunting a widget to toggle between 5ghz and 2.4ghz, I am running a Carbon Rom and my router supports dual although my lovely Nexus will only connect to my 2.4 network if on auto, I have to use advance settings in wifi and select 5ghz only, so I would like to turn on 5ghz whilst at home at a flick off a switch!
cheers all43
I have a dual band router, and it has 2 separate SSID's - one for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 GHz. Can you just "forget" the 2.4 GHz network on your phone, or do you only see one network?
My 2.4 has better range (of course not speed) and all my 'other' wifi spots out and about are 2.4 only, also when in auto network my Nexus only sees 2.4ghz.
Edit
Bad manners...forgot to say thank you for your reply.

5 ghz wifi

I have a problem with the 5 ghz band at my uni. Here my s6 always connects to the 2.4 frequency, even if that's super busy. I know that my uni wi fi has also a 5 ghz frequency (my roomate connects to it) but i don't know how to force the phone to connect to that specific frequency. Anyone knows how?

The 5G frequency will have it's own SSID, just go into your wifi settings and select it.

Why this phone does not detect 5 GHz frequency band?

My router broadcast on 5 Ghz Frequency but my phone does not detect it. Why? How this can be fixed?
I suspect the router configuration would be a good place to look. My phone picks up my 5ghz band just fine.
There're lots of channels in 5GHz band. And phones/routers of different customization might limit the use of some channels due to regional regulation.

Advanced Wifi - Auto vs 5 ghz vs 2.4 ghz

My download speeds at home on the 5 ghz band setting are around 225-235 mbps, which is the same as my laptop. On the 2.4 ghz band setting my speeds are 85-95 mbps. With my phone set to Auto it always selects 2.4. Can this be fixed? Should I set the phone to always run at 5 ghz? Or should I just forget about it and leave it on auto?

The question was for general purposes, like getting the best speeds when I'm out and about, not just for when I'm at home. Sorry I wasn't clear on that.

Question Nothing phone 1 wifi issue and power saving mode ON by default.

Hi, i have the phone 1 when ever I use a wifi 4 router internet internet speed is significantly low like 800 kbps to 2 Mbps on a 100 MBPS internet.
When I checked with router it says wifi power saving mode is on by phone.
Anyone know how to access engineering mode?
Can i disable wifi power saving some how?
Even I am facing the same issue. my one plus shows 65 to 85 Mbps but nothing phone shows less than 1 Mbps

Changed wifi to 802.11 n mode only and using 40 MHz band right now speed improved to 25-30 Mbps but never found a solution to this my OnePlus 7 next to me constantly hit 85-90 mpbs from same place and connected to same WiFi.
And i don't know what is causing this issue yet.
I seen only with wifi 5 GHz the phone wifi is working fine but if you connect to 2.4ghz speed is very bad.

Same it work for 1 to 2 times in speedtest results shows high speeds but drops to 1-3mbps instantly.
Currently I'm getting 30 Mbps by following above method can you try once and see if 802.11 n only not working try 802.11 G + N it is also working fine for me.

I am facing the similar issue.how did u solve ur problem?
I use a wifi6 router so my phone has almost 700 MBps download in same room with the router and between walls I have almost 600 MBps . ISP provider is set on 1GB . Those results are by default settings on my phone .
There is under developper options one particular setting about internet connection reffering to " limit network bandwith download " which is applied to all networks that phone is connecting to . There are some limits like = No limits , 128 kbps , 256 kbps , 1Mbps , 5 MBps and 15 MBps . Choose NO Limits .
Mine No limits is by default .
It is known that bandwith on 2,4 GB band is much lower than 5GB . Also router must know and deal with MiMo wich Nothing Phone is capable . Even more there are plenty of WiFi analyzer apks that help you to choose the best channels and/or band on both 2,4 GB and 5 GB band of router . I must say between 3 new phones I use now , Nothing Phone has the best modem radio chip .
I guess you all faced to some router problems . Phone is fine , except that limit set under developper settings which like I said is set to NO Limits but check it out
