Here, at the end of this post ("Clean ROM" section): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15391697&postcount=5
And I recommend you Titanium Backup. The free version just works.
i recommend the es file explorer as an alternative.
use titanium explorer
backup the apps you wanna remove and then remove them
even if you run into probs you can restore from the backup

Ok so i sort of made my own rom for myself to use i removed all stock launchers etc etc, i wanted to use launcher 7 as default laucher, not the se one. but when i full wipe my phone it deletes it as its a downloaded app which then leaves my phone without a launcher, so how do i build it into the system like adw is in the cm roms? so it dosnt wipe when i clear all data on my phone. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I would release this rom to public but its only based on 2.1.1.a.0.6 and most people prefer to use Floyo, Hackdroid etcetc. It dosnt have any extra features its just how i like it with all the crap removed lol, Different framework. Its just the launcher bit whats doing me lol.
install the application, then move it from /data/app to /system/app using root explorer...
restart your phone, it should works..
Ok thanks ill try that as soon as I get back from dentist

Did you also download the free version? Pro download is only the registration key! You need to install both.

No because in order to do a full backup you need R/W Access to the /system and /Data folders
See above you don't have to have root to read only to write.
most of the apps you will back up won't need write access check it out on the market or try it yourself

AFAIK You need root to read from /system and /data/data/ but maybe im wrong. i know for a fact that you need root to even read /system. go check with a file explorer that dosent need root
your right with what your say but for backup you won't need access you don't need to back up system apps anyway.

Correct and also you may need to turn usb debuging on if your having problems.
How to install Titanium backup pro on xperia play
1. Download and install Busyox after rooting
2. Download and install titanium backup
3. Download Pro Version key and install
4. Enable usb debugging (may not be neccessary works on my play without)
5. load program and enjoy

Not whole rom but all system settings, contacts, messages and application. For backup whole rom you need cwm but for me it doesn't work and I tried many times that's why I prefer titanium.

I suppose you are rooted. Then download titanium backup from market. And backup all the apps. Or if you want to backup your whole /system partition, then check out rudolf' s video of dumping system here. .

Why not just use a file explorer with root rights to uninstall system apps by going to
/system/app and deleting it?
Odds are you'll have a file explorer already.. don't see the point in an entire separate app just for that purpose.
You can't do that when it is preinstalled into the framework of the settings of a rom
