Root - G2 and Desire Z General

Plesae ... i need very easy root for my HTC Desire Z Android 2.3.3
Soft. version 2.42.405.2 CL84109
With no brick chance thanks.

Did you even try searching?
Here is the downgrade guide, which links to the root guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912
As far as easy goes, its not too difficult, but if you want a one-click solution you're out of luck.

Is this procedure unrootable? Can i return to the stock root 2.42 genuine after this?

yes, the unroot is fairly simple.
flash stock 1.34, temp-root with psneuter, restore part7 backup with gfree. flash stock 2.x rom.

you can downgrade and root your device as mentioned above and then flash a rooted 2.42 rom (some one should have already done that)

Why you want to unroot buddy?
> I think you can unroot by installing official ROM by using Goldcard method or u may try RUU also but i dont think so that'll work
if you install a ruu, it'll revert to original s-on, because alpharev makes a fake hboot and s-off

how to get root?

i only want root access on my otherwise stock htc desire z from bell. is there a simple easy way to do it? superoneclick freezes for me
Follow the XDA Wiki Guide
If you have to downgrade, you can find some pre-rooted roms to flash so you can keep the stock rom.

Now it seems that the lack of people concerned about this issue. G2's other models are not updated or do not have this problem?
wouldn't tot to zve, manually updating to zvg/zvh and then rooting again work? If there is no root on zvi and you need it, downgrading to an older version looks to be the only option.

I am also stuck on ZVI and I want to root, flash TWRP, and run custom roms.
I have not seen any guides to do this that don't require root already. Many thanks will be given if you know of a way to downgrade the version on a stock phone. I have fasboot/ADB up and running I can easily flash something just let me know how or what.

to restore back the ZVE version (the last KK version) and OTA to ZVG (LP), then root, at your own risk.
Zvg and zvh root and install twrp with no problems using the lg one click root and autorec apk. If you want to install custom roms, stop at zvh and root. Don't go to zvi.

Reliable DOWNGRADE stock instructions

I have a Verizon S5 (SM-G900V) currently on 6.0.1, Baseband version G900VVRU2DPJ2. Build number MMB29M.G900VVRU2DPJ2.
Looking for instructions on how to downgrade to 5.0 on this phone without bricking it.
If this is possible, please provide instructions or a good URL to do so.
Thanks
I think all you need to do is Odin stock PB1.

Yep, just got done. Worked like a charm.
Also, I am thinking about root and custom rom to get rid of the bloat....but I don't want to brick it.
Looks like i will follow these instructions....http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/guide-painiacs-essential-guide-to-t3319848

I have a GS5 with the same baseband version and build number. Were you able to root or load custom ROM?

So, to follow up on this, I downgraded to PB1 and was able to achieve root using instructions I found in the forum. Turns out I have the Toshiba version of the phone, so I'm unable to unlock the bootloader and can't upgrade to MM without losing root.
Still, the information in the forum is very helpful. Just takes some reading and patience,

HELP with rooting

Hello. I'm new to Android and all of this rooting and stuff but I want to try out flashing a custom ROM but I don't know how. Do you need to be rooted? I know about custom recoveries and stuff but I need to know exactly how.
EDIT: My model number is WAS-LO3T
My build number is WAS-LO3TC654B198
EDIT 2: I watched the One Click Root video. Is it safe? Is kingroot safe?
ANYONE? pls

How to root link below (includes unlocking the bootloader). Follow the steps very carefully as this is your first time rooting. I am not to blame nor anyone here on xda if you end up with a bricked phone. If you use android pay this will no longer work, some bank apps will not work either FYI due to root.
At present there is only one custom rom available however this is not specifically made for our device but for the p8 lite. When I flashed it about a month ago there are some bugs still like camera not working. Hopefully some talented people will buy our device and develope a custom rom for us.
