Hey guys
So I've had the A200 for around a month and know it is pretty much the same as the A500 (hence why I posted in this section). A few days a go while listening to some music through headphones I thought I heard the sound coming from the speakers on the tablet but disregarded it as my imagination. Then I found today while using headphones that sound is coming from the tablet and the headphones(tried several working pairs) both at the same time which is extremely annoying meaning I can't listen to music etc without others hearing it. I've done a bit of research on the issue with many of the same cases involving A500's but none with 3.2.1 which is what I'm running. And people that have had this issue say the headset icon still comes up in the notification bar still and it doesn't for me which makes me think it's a hardware problem with the jack as the headphones aren't being recognized. So the question I wanted answered is do you think it's a hardware problem an I should take it back for a replacement or do you think it is software and the promised ICS update will fix it. Cheers
My sound just recently stopped working randomly.
Can anyone help me with this problem?
1. Multiple ROM changes
2. Checked volumes
3. Plugged in headphones (this actually produces sound)
No headphones icon
Current rom: Flexreaper

Could be hardware problem.
Does volume control work with rocker switch?
You could pop the back off and check speaker connections, wires etc.
Use a magnifying glass to check. Especially contacts around headphone jack.
Maybe a little careful poking around with a pencil eraser while the tablet is playing sound.
Good Luck with your problem
Sounds like a hardware issue.
You could try rolling back to HC3 via TD's V.4
But probably a hardware issue.

Im having the same issue coming up from hc3 to the new ics slim on A500. sound was out before upgrade just went all of a sudden, has yet to return but head phone jack works fine. tried every thing too, want to isolate the chunk of programing that controls audio and flash random potential fixs in.
Sound pop/crack
I have installed pjsports version of Android 4.3 [CM10.2 Unofficial] Build 6 on my a500 tablet.
The sound works great until i put the tablet in sleep mode. After waking up the tablet the sound system is broken. The sound is coming out but every second I ear loud pop/cracking noise and the video (or application) slows down to a crawl.
Does anyone experience similar problems ?
I believe I have read that this happens when too many apps running in the background
So I just got the Nexus 10. I can't use either of the two mics. Or Bluetooth headset, or mic plugged in to capture sound. I've seen other posts about the mics being crappy, but I get absolutely nothing. (the sound-wave graph doesn't twitch) I've tried ButteredMantaAroma. CM10.1 and CM10.2. ParanoidAndroid. Omni. And am now back to stock.
Now, I never tried it before I rooted and flashed my first rom (never even thought about it)
I'll call and look for a replacement (got it free with Solar panel install on house... so not sure about replacement issues) but Since it doesn't work with on-board or Bluetooth or plug-in mic... I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts...?
Am I just missing something stupidly simple?
Thanks for any help

Hi all,
I'm a newly converted Samsung lover.. dropped my iPhone and have a Note 3. I want to shoot a video for You Tube and realize the built in microphone will not be suitable. I 've tried to plug in an external microphone but it does not work at all.. as if blocked. No sound at all coming from the microphone. Somebody said something to me about a Kernel.. don't even know what that is. Could I get some "sound advice?"
Thanks so much!!

Hey guys, ive been using my note 3 for a long time with Temaseks CM12. yesterday everything was working perfect, until i couldnt hear any audio from the speaker. tried headphones, same for those. so I rebooted and rebooted until the players/whatsapp crashed when triyng to hear audio messsages or to make new ones. after a while i noticed some sounds like "interferrences" from the speaker, EVEN when the phone was off. (of course only with battery).
same thing with the headphone jack, tried also some speakers...
today it doesnt want to start at all. just this noises when attatching it to usb. no vibration atg all, display stays off...
I also tried debricking it with the debrick img, used 2 sd cards (2GB and 16GB) none of them worked.
the display just stays black, only the speakers are making funny noises.
No warrianty, so no support from samsung, latest rom was 9.5 or 9.7 from temasek (CM12.1)
please help mee :x its difficuklt to switch from 5.7 to 4 inches. thanks in advance and sorry for the bad language.
(P.S: i can upload a video to youtube if you want to.)
