Apple Lossless alac possible? - Atrix 4G General

is it possible to play alac music files on android, i have ALL my cds saved that way, and cant play them on my atrix, using PowerAmp pro if it makes a difference. If anyone can tell me how (if its possible) i can ammend this annoying flaw id be very happy

If you mean the .m4a format, my Atrix plays them fine. I use Winamp but it also works with the default Atrix music player.
If it's .m4b, you'll probably need to strip the protection off with a program like QTFairUse. That program hasn't been updated in a while though so if you're using a newer iTunes, it probably won't work.
Not sure what else is out there to strip it.
I know you can pay to upgrade your iTunes library to the m4a format but it can be pricey depending on how big your library is.

I just confirmed that Lossless doesn't work. My files were lossy. I ripped a cd in Lossless and it doesn't play. Same file extention as lossy (m4a).

Found an app called 'Andless" available on Android Market that will play them. It's an ugly interface though.

Help with video/music

This may seem a stupid question to all you clever people My previous phones have sort of integrated the music and video's from my storage card to the video and music icon's on the phone.( never had windows phone)

Can anyone help????

Ok don't panic.
Good on you for taking the plunge.
It is not like itunes which is a clunky, crappy way to do things.
Do you have a pc?
If so, use Windws media player to convert cd's to mp3's.
Or use Nero.
I personally use Nero, but there are many ways to convert files to mp3.
If you already have mp3's then all the better.
You can copy them to your sd card and then go online and the HD2 will find album cover art for your music.
pm me if you want help.

How to play iTunes music on Galaxy S4?

Why my Galaxy S4 can't play iTunes music? The iTunes music format is MP4, and the Galaxy S4 support MP4 playback, why Galaxy S4 can't read iTunes MP4 music? M4A is a problem too.
Convert and transfer iTunes music to Galaxy S4
iTunes files were protecting by DRM, if you want to play iTunes music and movies on Galaxy S4, you have to remove DRM protection. You can use Aovsoft Media Converter to convert and transfer iTunes music to Galaxy S4.
Play iTunes movies on Galaxy S4
You can try Avosoft Media Converter to transfer iTunes movies to Galaxy S4.
Just upload all your iTunes music to the Google Music Manager so it's synced to the cloud and use Play music to listen to it. Or download to a sd card and listen to it.

Doubletwist will work to but you have to pay for the app, and as I said Google's Music Manager will work better and for free.

Try TunesKit Audio Converter
Yeah, if you want to play iTunes music on Galaxy S4, you need to get rid of the copyright protection first. TunesKit Audio Converter is also such a powerful that is able to remove DRM and then convert iTunes music to MP3, FLAC or other common format, so you can listen to them on any device you like.
P.s. TunesKit Audio Converter is now on sale for Christmas at up to 50% off, you can get the same lifetime license at half price now.

[Q] Google Play music format?

Yes, I have searched, I'm guessing I'm using the "wrong" search terms...
What format is the music files downloaded from Google Play?
mp3?
I can't see EVER paying for an mp3 file, EVER.
I'd rather buy the CD itself, and make my own rip.
Guess I'll continue this way...
Looks like 320kbps mp3 files.
Though I thought I read somewhere that iTunes were lossless AAC?
Anywho, I will pass, cannot see buying a (lossy mp3) sample of a digital source, which itself, is a sample.
I will continue to rip my own, I like buying a physical CD to have anywho...

[Q] Lyrics Not Working with mp4 files?

So lyrics to my songs have been added via iTunes and when I put them in my phone, none of the lyrics display. I also noticed that songs that are mpeg files will display the lyrics but yeah not mp4. Is there a reason behind this? Is there a way to fix this? I don't like using other music players so please don't suggest others (just prefer using stock). I love lyrics and this is a feature I hope Samsung will resolve one day

i download and bought from itunes an album , format aac , extension m4a
i have noticed that the player does play ogg vorbis , mp4 but not aac at leat in this format or extension
i tried to scan all my folders , nothing
and about the lyrics may i know which metadata files does it read ?
thanks
A. Install another audio player or
B. Convert all files to accepted format
I have the same problem.
Only Poweramp works for me + it has build in equalizer and you can change themes.

hi
try blackplayer ! it's free
but i'm bored to install other application for simple tasks , i mean at least the p8 player should play aac ! i have to open with the video player
[Solved - sort of]
Just to add to the confusion, I have a slightly similar/different problem. My P8lite plays m4a files bought and/or ripped via iTunes stored on the SDCard, then it wouldn't find newer ones I added. File explorer apps show they are there at
SDCard/Music/NewAlbum/Track1.m4a
SDCard/Music/NewAlbum/Track2.m4a
etc, etc
I like that the P8lite native MusicPlayer will look for and play random folders, except that the ones it can't find do show up in the VideoPlayer. ??!!?? I have another 3rd party app also called MusicPlayer that worked well on a previous phone, but it too cannot "see" the missing folders. These files seem to have been grabbed by the system and tagged as video. WTF? Is there a hidden limit on the number/size of audio files? How can these files be re-assigned as audio? Fishing round the AppStore to find a player that works seems a doozy way to fix what looks like a system fault...
[Edit] Problem comes from Apple, not Android: iTunes v.12 and later tags file info as "Purchased AAC", previous versions were merely "AAC". There's no DRM 'cos they will play on Android devices that play m4A, just they don't show up in many players' menu. I'm now using RocketPlayer, works for me. I haven't got any CD handy now to rip with iTunes12 to see what it does to that...
