I apologize if this has already been posted, I did search and didn't find anything about it.
That little click sound that plays whenever clicking a link or something drives me nuts. I realize I can just turn down my system volume and it will be quite, but I like to have that volume up most of the time if I'm not at work.
To get rid of that noise you can rename the /system/media/audio/ui/Tw_Touch.ogg file to Tw_Touch.ogg.bak, then reboot and it will not click any longer. I believe you'd need to be rooted to access that directory, I used root explorer to change it. I haven't noticed any negative side effects from doing this but will re-post here if I do.
Can't you just do Menu>Settings>Sound and Display>Audible Selection [uncheck]?

No problem - happens
There's separate settings for keyboards as well - so, for example, if you turn off that setting swype will still click unless you change its settings. There's a million little things with these phones, both good and bad ... Guess that's beauty of it!
LOL, I'm not laughing at you, but thats just to funny.
Dont worry I've actually deleted files on my G1 and got stuck nearly in a boot loop because of a wrong file.

Hi guys,
Is it possible to change the contact's default picture which you can see below in the attached file to an green android man like in other phones? I am sure it is, I just would like to know how.
Thanks in advance,
Go into contacts. Select the contact. Menu/edit contact. Tap the picture space in the top left. Follow prompts. Save.
Swyped on my rooted MyTouch4G
Well, I know that much, that's not what I meant. I want it to be changed systemwide, not per each contact. Like the one in the attached image.
There is no default picture. The image in the OP post is the default. No way to change that (that I know of). The droid contact pic is something somebody added to an individual contact.

That's incorrect. That is the default when the contact don't have a phone pic on a lot of full sense ROMs. We would have to dig in the contacts apk and change the png for it. Let me look..
OK, its in there. It's called
common_icon_default_avatar_300.png. we'll need the one from the evo, I know it has the Andy avatar. And maybe it's as simple add replacing it and naming it properly

Thanks man. I was going to correct the other person about him being wrong but I was not 100 percent sure. I would think it should just be a simple fix.
Ninja-morph?
I was gone try last night, just got track down the png we want. I'll probably have to download a evo rom and get it there
After downloading 3 evo roms, I found the png needed. Changed em with ninja morph but they didn't stick. Idk
thanks for trying man.

ADB Push attached Phone.apk to /system/app and let me know if that's what you're looking for.
Make sure to nand or at least save your original phone.apk

K, I tested it on outgoing calls... it's a little too late to ask people to call me.
It's not a full screen pic neither, like OP has, that would require some serious xml edits, and then, people with actual pics would look all stretched, that happened with G1's dialers back in the day. Looks much better then that bogus original pic.
Good job bro, it works for in call. How about the contact default. Without a assigned pic?

Hey
I was exploring my phone's system directories when I found some strange weather like ogg files wich contain different sounds. They're located in system/media/audio/ui/
And are called breeze.ogg, forest.ogg, light.ogg, mist.ogg, morning.ogg and rain.ogg.
My question is: What are they used for? And where can they be used for?

Umm.. If I am not mistaken then these all are sounds of some Alarm app. I have seen these 6 sound names in this exact same order in some alarm application in the past, though can't recollect the name of that app.
Oh alright, just realized that these all are alarm tones of the Default Alarm app that we get in stock one.
they are for"smart alarm"you can set in the alarm clock.

This is a fix for music player making the albums split up.
I am talking about these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16305193&postcount=891
"Album folder shows multiple albums with the same titles.
Songs on Albums containing different ALBUM ARTIST will separate them."
As you can see, I posted this issue on GingerDX way back long ago.
And then I found its solution.
To fix these issue, we need to add "libjumper.so" to our /system/lib (download on the attachment)
1• Download and unpack the zip file to the root of your sdcard.
2• Copy libjumper.so from your sdcard. Paste it to /system/lib
3• Fix the permissions to rw-r--r--
[V][V][O]
[V][O][O]
[V][O][O]
4• Reboot
5• Use Google Music to make this work.
And violah! Problem solved!
Tips:
• Use Mp3Tag for you to rearrange the tags on your mp3's. You can add album art to make it look good on ICE SCREAM SANDWICH Music App or any other music app.
• FOR BEST RESULTS AND CORRECT ID3TAG READING: USE GOOGLE MUSIC APP.
Clearing an app's cache:
• go to settings>applications>manage applications>all tab>look for the app you wish to clear>clear data>clear cache>reboot.
Easy app's data and cache clearing and uninstalling, use TITANIUM BACKUP (TBA)
Manual Uninstalling System Apps (App that can not be uninstalled using the normal uninstallation)
• use root explorer.
• go to system/app, set it to R/W
• all of the apps there are now deletable. you may choose which one will you delete. do not forget to back it up! (copy first the apk to sdcard, somewhere there, and proceed deleting)
• after deletion of apk, reboot to recovery and clear the dalvik-cache.

Note:
I am not responsible if this "fix" will actually "brick" your lovely device. You are responsible for doing backups before you proceed doing the above mentioned instructions. I posted this fix because it truly works if the instructions are followed correctly and has knowledge on how to get this things done.

This bug, in the CM7 roms
I think it is because of our DPI being different from the other devices DPI. In some apps like Active Launcher (tested on GingerCruzt, i don't know in other roms) we don't have that bug The active launcher was made for a device with same DPI i think, so the explanation is simple, that bug happens because some apps are built for different DPI
Sorry for my bad english

did you set the permissions?
AND Refresh your music app cache. or maybe uninstall and install your music app.
Thanks, I did wonder why it not properly shown.
After i did everything including the permission. It still split up my albums, however when i edited the "Album Artist" field in Mp3Tag, everything is where as it should be. So i guess its just the labeling.
As far as we know, there is no documented way or API to change system-wide volume on WP8, however...
It looks like author of the Quiet Hours application found an udocumented way to do this! Probably he is using ISimpleAudioVolume interface but I really don't know...
Any thoughts?
P.S. Guys with interop-unlocked handsets: could you please install the app and download/post the executable/assembly?

I tried this app it didn't work for me i set time but it can't set my phone in silent mode.
I'm really interested that this app can change system volume.
I remember there was an app for fully unlocked wp7 devices to change system volume but now i can't find it.
Maybe Ativ S users with Interop Unlock and Full FS can help with this. They can get app files and upload them to check how is it possible.
I looked for decrypted xap file but i didn't find that

Try to pin app first, and manually toggle the volume by tapping tile (you don't need to wait 30 minutes).

I tried waiting over 1 hours to be silent but didn't work .
I know Pin tile work it has no problems but working with time is better .
Adjusts the volume by the number of steps specified either up (positive) or down (negative).
Code:
HRESULT Shell_AdjustVolume(int numberOfSteps);
I also noticed that if you set the volume to 0, and play a WhatsApp voice message, it plays on full volume although it is set to mute. Anyone know how this is done? It would be cool to be able to use this to set important reminders

What'sApp voice messages use the "phone call" volume (/10) instead of the normal system (/30) volume. So it doesn't matter if your system volume is muted the app will use the headset phone call volume...
