I've been doing some reading, and it looks like it isn't very good. I've read that it is missing some drivers for things that the play the play, as well as missing the psx emu. Note that I'm unsure of the ages of the articles that I've read, but I still couldn't find it on the official CyanogenMod web page. Does anybody know anything new on this?

I made a post on their forum a couple of months ago regarding any updates with this phone, but I got no replies so I just forgot about them.

Everything works bar the PSX emulator, and seemingly QR readers... Plus it has a much longer mileage than 4.0.A.368. You probably read old articles which stated that the camera wouldn't work, since it did not until recent builds. In the last GSM build touchpads were added, which were sort of the last big thing left.

In the latest GSM version, everything except QR readers are working. The new CDMA build which enables touchpad support and 3G data will be comeing soon.

I have stock cdma, so as of right now, is it worth getting? I use tethering, so data will be necessary.

In the newest GSM version everything seems to work flawless for me.
QR Readers do NOT work, Google Goggles fixes that for me though (since you shoot a picture and it scan's it afterwards.. Takes a little more time but it works).

I can't speak of tethering, but data most certainly DOES work in the current CDMA build. That's to say version 25. The only thing I'm aware of not working is the touchpads (which are working in the GSM now in version 26).

But, if I open it from the root of the forums....without using favorites...it works.

Same here. I can access everything fine until I login. Then every thread I open produces a force close.

Yeah well it's not fully compatible with Froyo either. Unfortunately the XDA app is a piece of crap and nobody seems inclined to fix it. You'll find copies of this thread in practically every tablet device forum on these boards. I had the same experience with my Viewsonic GTab running Froyo. These XDA crashes go back at least as far as last October.
Some people say if you buy the full app that it doesn't crash, but why would I spend money to buy something on faith when their "trial" app is crap?
</rant>
So, if you want a specific forum app, go buy Tapatalk and forget about it.

Just noticed,
The new updated Facebook app (V 1.6) is no longer compatible with the Xoom. I.e. if you don't have FB or if you've uninstallrd it, ouch!

I think they are trying to push tablets back to the unified touch website interface. The only thing that sucks with that is you can 'send to facebook' and sync contacts.
Know of any other apps that handle just that?

Install it on any other device then move it via astro backup or something. I did that and it works fine.
I use Friendcaster... not the tab optimized version though because it lacks a lot of functionality. Does look pretty however.
I just installed the 1.6 update on the Xoom and it force closes when you try to search. It's defiantly not made for the Xoom. Here is the APK if anybody wants to try it.

I suspect this has to do with the fact that good Android devs are hard to find; good Android devs with Honeycomb experience are nearly impossible to find.

Just got a Skype update. It now supports video calling for certain phones. I can't remember all that were listed but nexus s and a couple from HTC were there. No mention of the ATRIX. I can't see any options or indications of the feature anywhere in the program and I have no one on my list online to call. If its in the app I assume it should be able to be enabled for the ATRIX with a little tinkering.

THE PATCHED HACK DOES NOT WORK.
it doesn't work on either froyo or GB, has been tested over the last 2 days. it only works on a few samsung and HTC devices, most likely related more to the processor and NEON capabilities of the device, which our phone lacks.

Play with your xoom for a while then this. I would install the tiamat rom but I don't want to wipe my xoom.
I've decided to skip roms and tiamat or whatever. Looking at threads some are WiFi version only. Then some are different firmware version. I just want stock Verizon with whatever current version its at instructions. It's just to big of a mess for me to spend time digging through literally hundreds of posts researching on what should be closed threads restarted with fresh instructions. Not 4 month old threads. I'll just root adb, use setcpu, and wait for 3.2 uupdate. Then ill join in since ill know where other people are starting from.
It really is a mess. With my Droid x it was simple. A few ways to gain root and all the Roms nicely laid out ripe for the picking. Instruction clearly labled if you have firmware xxx do this, xxy do this. No wonder people are afraid to root. I am, now.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Ok I can't quit that easy. Looked at xoomforums. I think my whole problem was forum layout. Viewing this forum on their premium app jumbled everything together. Seeing everything laid out rom, kernels, ect, much easier. I'll go with launchpad 1.3 then try tiamat. At least I don't feel lost. As long I'm not browsing through their app.
