I wonder if you can help as this is now driving me crazy.
I have my HD2 running NAND MDJs Gingerbread Cyanogan mod 7. Its been great but the problem I have is that on moving games to the SD card they never then run again constantly force closing. Any games I want have to be run from the phones memory....which is getting very low.
I want to know how to be bale to move apps/games to the SD card and them still actually run.
I 'believe' the device is rooted but am nto 100% sure btu when i try to run z4root it sticks at the 'attempting to apply root' phase and never gets any further.
Also one final MAJOR issue here is that my USB port is dead so I have to use an external battery charger this means I can't reflash and start again I am stuck now with this rom whcih is fine cos I'm giving the phone to my gf, but she will want to play games.
Please help....sorry for asking a fairly newb question.

I am a linux fan and I am using Linux for a long time.I bought the HTC HD2. I saw some youtube videos about Android Froyo on HD2.I want to try it but they were showing that you have to put the file on the micro sd card and you have run it from there.My question is if I do it can I run windows mobile after a new boot ?or it will boot android for all time?I just don't want to let windows go because may be i will switch back.Can any one please help me?
Yes, you can easily get into winmo, every time you shutdown android you have to load winmo first and then use haret to load android, so no worries .

You can also get a boot loader from XDA and choose which you want to load at start up. windows or android...

Thanks for quick reply.Do you know which devices will not work on HTC HD2 if I run Android?Cause little confused here .Some people says wifi does not work ,some says camera does not work.Do you know actually what does not work?
That was a loooong time ago^^
Now, EVERYTHING WORKS, unless:
- You have an inappropriate Kernel (some still have issues, but the latest one works flawlessly)
- You have an inappropriate ROM (there's been reports on CM6 not being ok with all Kernels, hence the 1°)
- You have an "Exotic" rom (Desire HD, Desire Z...) : these aren't fully supported ATM
However, there are known issues with:
- Tethering, especially Wifi, it's not yet always 100% ok
- Kernels, they are all being tweaked, but IMHO, go for it, I don't boot WinMo anymore
- And other small annoyances, but that depends on your device, rom, kernel, etc etc etc
FOR YOUR CONCERN:
- Booting from an SD card is far from a flaw (to me) : Copy aside your data.img, and copy a build over it. You'll never loose your personal data by flashing again
- Hence this : Don't ask for "the best Android rom", all you'll have will be personal opinions, and may not suit you. Try them, it's damn easy, you won't loose your personal data, it's a matter of days
- Ask about the really important stuff : Kernels and Radio, and things like that, but AFTER getting through the other post and thread. Nothing more annoying than a "noob" (and we've ALL been through there, but...) that didn't (at least) try looking for himself.
->Try asking questions, starting with "I've been looking for this, found this, understood this, but need help about that" and you'll see how people will be grateful ^^

To be honest, i just (finally) being able to install Froyo on my HD2, after a lot ROM changing, Radio ect....
I must say, is not really easy to finally find the perfect combination so u can use Froyo as your daily OS (at least for me)...but u will always got XDA, and from my opinion, all the hard work (flashing, changing rom/radio) is really worthed....
so far i dont have any problem running android on my HD2...

Hello everyone, first off let me start by congratulating the great team XDA-Developers for this awesome web page and the help they give to total NOOBS like me. Also I wanted to point out that if these questions or this thread are in the wrong place, please move it cause it's the firs time I ask for help.
Ok, so a little background, I'm not a complete noob on computers or cell phones, just on the HD2, I've had in the past a Nokia 6600, an HP 6515 running wm2003se, an iphone 3g and a 3gs, all of these were tweaked and hacked or jailbroken etc...
So now on the the questions, I just got myself a used T-Mobile HD2 cause I wanted to leave behind my iphone and have something with more power and customization options. Now I have this incredible phone in my hands and I have so many questions and plans for it, but I need Knowledge before I attempt to do anything and I can't seem to find the answers for my questions in any thread, so here goes !
1. should I update to the latest T-Mobile ROM from their web page ? Or should I at least download it to have it as a backup to flash back to stock ?
2. I think this device has already HSPL cause it had android on it before, how do I check the HSPL and should I use that or go for SSPL ?
3. As far as wm6.5 goes, I've been planning of flashing an Energy ROM, is that a good choice ?
4. Now, after having a cooked ROM on the device, I want to try android, but I want to be able to boot it from my SD card, I've been reading about Exceller's Android Loader, and according to what I've read i could have wm6.5 on my device and be able to dual boot different versions of android, an I gonna have issues with that ? are the android versions on the SD card gonna work properly ?
5. OK, so lets say I can have wm6.5 and 2 other versions of android on the SD card, how would the loaded apps get organized on the SD card ? can I choose when installing apps where they should be installed so I can keep the SD card organized ?
6. Whats the difference between NAND and RAM droid ? If I load Android through the SD card will it have less functionality than if I flash the device ?
7. Is using android from an SD card like emulating ? does it make the device slower, take up more ram, drain battery more ?
8. Does flashing a device with Android delete all traces of wm6.5 ? I ask this cause I want to try and know what is the fastest and more powerful OS i should have and keep on my device.
9. Does changing to android take away functionality from the HD2 remote (skip songs/pause/play/answer calls) ?
Well that's it for now, I have so many more questions but probably by now whoever is reading this has fallen asleep ! LOL

After installing android (2.2) on my Omnia2 i noted the following problems:
- Does not recognize my SDCARD
- Does not recharge the battery
- Wifi malfunctions
- When trying to download from Android Market always says not enough space when in fact I have 2GB of internal storage available.
Anyone know how to get around some of these problems? tks

hello everyone,
android after I installed 2.2, my phone began to no longer receive calls and then I saw that your IMEI was reset in android, reboot the phone and the imei in WM, was 000000000000000, how do I get my phone, got it since December 2009.

I'm without my phone, and I researched and could not find any way to solve my problem.

I updated ROM HD20 v1.24 but i couldn't play some game on Xbox.Ex:The harvest,when i joined the game,i could choose new game and then have a trailer,after that its return to Microsoft's logo,again and again.I dont know why,although i could play that game on Pdaimagejam Rom.Help me,plz!!
no help for this... H2DO rom seems not fully unlocked how he says.... many stuff not work: some MS games, backup/restore settings in apps...

Ok!I will,thank you..but im afraid Pdaimage ROM doesn't have long battery life like HD20...cry..TT_TT
i'm also running the HD2O rom and what i noticed this happening to me was that if i opened an app or game after installing and it sent me back to the main menu, i just had to reboot the phone.
if that didn't work, it was my SD card. i was running a PNY card for about a good week and when i switched over to a SanDisk, everything was smooth sailing from there.

My HTC HD Mini was left and unused for few months after replacing touch-glass.
There were some issues like ie. not working wifi, vibra or sound.
Today it works. BUT. I left device becose i had SE Xperia X10 mini and i hate work on windows.
Nowadays, as my X10 died, i decided to go back to HD Mini. Luckily i found that there is a way to run Android on it.
So, i downloaded some quite old version (and then some newer CM7 - tried both), put it on sd and tried to load. It hang up for more than 20 min, so i rebooted (as it schould 5-10 min).
Now it reboots after status bar goes to 100% - so it takes about 20-30 seconds.
I got an idea to upgrade my winos (OS: 5.2.23103, ROM: 1.36.479.1), but when it goes to flash mode, it says 'starting', waiting for few seconds, and then "i can not upgrade your device" or whatever. Device only reboots.
Ofcourse i've searched forum and google for something simillar, but, maybe, i do not know how to ask.

about SDCard, it could be problem of your sdcard is bad, bad sdcards won't work well with android.
and the NAND, Not sure about that, but you may try another ways or use the newest CWM that also works with schlund's ROM
Yup, I'll try with another SD (i have 2GB one which cames with X10) and will give info.
About NAND i prefer to run droid from SD at the moment - just do not want to risk installing OS that may not work on my device.
It works with ADATA 16GB, 10.
Did not try with windows update. Just installed Droid on NAND.

Ok, i can not drop any post on main topic, so i will write here:
I read main topic, but it will last...
1. YES!, we need instruction (easy howto) about installing new ROM (i made it somehow, but i have some experience with X10)
2. Battery is messed up, but it works. It even last more than a day. Had some issue with 99% CPU usage - found some info to flash update - AGAIN! - we need howto!
3. My Photon freezes sometimes. I changed sleep time in screen section, and it helpes somehow. Maybe, again, battery issue? As i have less problems while battery over 50% or Trebuchet?
