Clockwork Recovery 3.0 Corrupted My 16gb Sd Card

I had just finished installing Myns New Rom and Flashed the combo radios aswell, I ran Titanium Backup and installed my apps. I opened Rom Manager and said I had to flash Clockwork Mod and it updated to 3.O. I then proceeded to make a back up of the rom and then my phone went straight to boot loader, It would not reboot and would not enter recovery just reboots back into boot loader. I finally removed the sd card and rebooted after 10 mins it went back to my rom. I then tried to open my sd card on pc an nothing shows up, I tried 2 others and nothing, cannot even format. I borrowed my friends evo and went to recovery with sdcard in to format it say error can not mount and nothing. I tried within the phone, with cm6 installed and it said the sd card was blank or wrong something, (I forgot) No luck. I think it might have destroyed my sd card, Im trying to find a software that may allow me to do so any luck.

-cannot mount or format on phone or recovery mode.
-16gb Micro Sd card Sandisk class 2, bought when touch pro came out for 110 from bestbuy (got 100 back from Htc Touch return so really only 10)
-Had partitoned earlier to run mikifroyo app2sd, unpartioned by formatting.
Please any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Ok when I Insert My SD card it just boots to loading and reboots over and over again. Any ideas?

try looking in the forums for the lastet recovery in .zip format.
Copy it to the root of the sd card. (if you think that you have an issue with the SD card, then take a fresh SD that is formatted to Fat32. Make sure it is not NTFS. If you formatted on the Mac, make sure the partition format is MBR and not GUID, if you don't know how to do this, I can explain further. The easiest way would be to make sure that you do it on a windows machine)
Start your phone, and hopefully it will install the recovery automatically.
After you install the recovery, and get your phone booted into android, you can locate a pre-rooted rom of your choice in the forums here or at the "other" place if you prefer.
You can read more about it in this other section of the forum. The information below is from that forum, in case you can't find it or are too lazy to search.

Thanks, I was planning to do this but Im more concerened about my sd card, The phone boots well with out the sd card now, So I was planning to install the zip later. Thanks though I really appreciate the help and thoroughness of your answer which is great. But do you by anychance know what I can to do to recover the card back?

[Q] Nook doesnt boot shows loading forever even to get to cmw recovery

Hello there i am just asking for some asistance i am new to nook i upgrated to phiremod 7.1 by doing a full wipe and now that i tried to backup my room it just doesnt boot or passes the boot screen i wiped all my system,caches,data,boot like i do with my phone now it desnt let me boot not even in clockwork recovery it just sits there any help will be highly appreciate it ...

What version of CMW are you using? Make sure it is the latest 3.2.0.1.
I had your same problem until I used the image from eyeballer. (Look for his thread in the android development section)
Here is my method that finally worked :
Burn eyeballer 's data image to SD card using win32diskimager. Use external card reader. Run as administrator.
Then copy whichever zipped rom you want to use on that same card.
Make sure nook is off. Insert burned SD card. Power on nook. If you haven't already done so, format data and system (in the mounts and storage section).
Then install zipped rom.
After rom is installed, Before turning off the nook, replace SD card with another unburned SD card. The rom usually will not boot without an SD card inserted.
Then select reboot on CMW. Usually takes 10-20 minutes for a first time boot.
Hopefully this will work for you. If not, you may have a faulty SD card

Why is everything force closing?

Just bought the parents some nook colors and I've been trying to rom it up with no luck...
The nook came with 1.3.0
These are the steps i took:
I used Win32DiskImager to write the 1gb_clockwork-3.2.0.1-eyeballer.zip image to the boot SD and booted into CWM.
I removed the SD card and formatted it. Then added the rom zip and gapps zip to the sdcard.
I then reset to factory settings, then installed the rom and the gapps, then i reset factory again.
Then i would remove the sdcard and reboot and the rom would start to load...
I tried 3 different roms, cm7 mirage, phiremod and an ics rom... all 3 do the same thing, extremely slow and practically everything force closes... I cant even reboot to recovery, it seems like it stayed on the sdcard and didnt install to the nook...
Noob questions:
Should I have rooted it first?
Does it have to have an sdcard?
What can I do?

I don't think this for the "Android Development" subforum.
Anyways.. unless you have a Sandisk Class 4 MicroSD, or cards with similar performance characteristics, you will see stuff like that if you run from SD card because the card is just too damn slow for small writes.
Look for "4k random write" benchmarks. Get a card that scores high on that. It's important for approximately everything that's not a large video.
You can benchmark yourself under Windows with CrystalDiskMark for example.

You don't need to root first. You also shouldn't be booting to CWM after burning the image or reformatting afterwards. Your description is vague so it sounds like you may be trying to make a bootable SD card instead of installing the ROM internally. Certainly the crashing issues sounds like a slow SD card running a bootable ROM.
To install internally start with a freshly formatted card. Burn the 3.2.01 CWM image to the card. Then copy and paste the ROM zip (CM7, CM9, MIUI or whatever) and the Google apps zip files on the card. Do not unzip the files and do not put them in any folder.
Safely eject the card from the pc, insert it into the Nook and power up. Wipe data/system, clear the cache partition, go to advanced and wipe the dalvik cache. This ensures you are totally clean for the ROM.
Next choose install zip from SD card. Then flash the ROM zip. Choose install zip from SD card again and flash the Gapps zip. Then unmount the card in the menu and remove the card and choose reboot. Or you can hold the power button for a few seconds to power down, remove the card and then power up.
You should now be in your new ROM installed to internal memory. Follow the official thread for the detailed instructions.

thanks, but thats the problem, once i burn the cwm img to the sdcard, i cant add anything else to it... no rom, no gapps... i'm using the Win32DiskImager to burn the cwm img to the sdcard... where am i messing this up? thanks again!

Are you using an internal card reader to burn the image? Use a cheap usb card reader. And be sure to use win32diskimager in administrator mode.

What @leapinlar is saying is that the built in reader is part of the problem. Get a little <$5 reader and use that to make the SD card.

The problem is the OP doesn't provide enough info. Before we offer help, pls do tell us what your intention?
1. Install CM? into eMMC (a.k.a. internal memory) or
2. Run CM? from uSD (a.k.a. external memory card).
Provide solid info then you will get more help that lead you to the right direction.

Maybe. Others have had problems using an internal reader. Just try a cheap usb card reader and see.

ok... so i'm i just used an external scard reader and the same thing is happening...
once i write the cwm img to the sdcard it makes it a bootable sdcard and i can access it or move files to it...

I have installed phiremod 7.2 on another nook color and it wants to close android.process.media. Force closes. And it doesn't have the status bar either. When I try to go to Play Store, it force closes android.process.media again. Any help?

thats how i did it initially... i'd write the img to the sdcard, boot up in cwm no problem... take out the sdcard, format it, put the roms in the sdcard, then put the sdcard back in the NC... install the zips... installed fine... then massive force closes... i will try again, when i get home...

And we are using CWM 3.2.0.1...

CM7/Honeycomb w/o apps

Hey and thanks ahead for any help.
I've been trying to figure this out the passed 24 hrs (bout 4 hrs of sleep) but I'm stuck.
I have a micro sd card (8GB class 6), I have the downloads I've read on here to unzip and write the images WinImage and WinRaR.
I have nookhoney04 (honeycomb), HoneyGApps.v2 in one folder I have generic-sdcard (cm7) and update-cm-7.1.0-encore-signed and gapps-gb-20110828-signed on the second folder. I can get both OS running just fine on this card (obviously after I erase 1 OS and write the other). However, everywhere I read tells me to take out my sd card and copy over the unzipped ZIP file containing the apps I assume to the card but my computer will not allow me to do anything until I reformat the sd card (erases everything).
My problem is I can't seem to figure out how to get google play or android market on either OS. I've watched numerous YouTube walk throughs but I am not very tech savvy. If anyone knows my problem or can walk me through it I would love you forever. Either one will do. I mainly just want to be able to get a nook app, kndle app and netflix app.

After you have the CM7 installed (don't use honeycomb, it is not stable) you should be able to put the SD in your PC and it should be able to read the boot partition. (If you can't, try a different card reader or a different PC). Copy the gapps...zip file to the boot partition. Put the card back in the nook and boot. Hold the n key until the boot menu comes up. Select SD and recovery and continue the boot. Gapps should install automatically. Then reboot and you can register the gapps. Use Market/Play Store to download your kindle, etc apps.

Thanks for your help.
No matter what I do, every time I reinsert the sd card into the computer after installing cm7 onto nook, it ask me to format it then refuses to allow me access to it unless I format the card. After I write the cm7 onto the card, copy the update 7.1.0, I can eject the sd card and place it back in and it reads it fine but after installing onto nook and placing back into the computer it makes me reformat. Does the nook write anything onto it?

The solution is to start over and put both the CM7 zip and the gapps zip on the SD at the same time. It will then install both. If there is not room, go to my tips thread in my signature and get my updated image. It has been expanded so there is room for both.

Alright, I erased the card, wrote cm7 onto it. After about 116mb remained. I copied the cm7 update to it and gapps (total is about 106 mb). I inserted it into the nook. Penguin showed, blue text scrolled. Said gapps was found and installed then said preparing to shut down. After it powered off, I turned it on and it went straight into the Nooks standard OS. Like if I didn't have a sd card in it lol

[Q] Restore to Stock... Or anything really...

Hi, so I've tried everything I can think of to restore my Nook to the stock 1.4.1 but nothing has worked and I've given up before I break anything else...
This all started when I was trying to install the CM7.2/CM9 dual boot from SD card - I burned the image to the SD card and booted but the device just hanged at a black screen (for a lot longer than it should have) after the CM "loading" startup screen.. I tried removing the SD card after holding the power button to turn it off but it then refused to boot to the EMMC stock OS... Somehow (I've only ever used SD card CM ROM's) an old CWM install (v.3.0.2 or something) was installed on the internal memory that booted when I tried to launch a factory reset (Power + N + vol+).
I then followed an older guide to restore to stock by formatting the /system and /data and installing a .zip from sd card (the nookcolor_1_4_1_signed.zip) but it failed with a (bad) error....
Now I don't know what to do. The device now hangs at "Read Forever" and the internal CWM is gone, as well as everything else I'm assuming... It will boot into CWM if it's installed on an SD card, but without that it will just reboot into Read Forever when I try to turn it off...
An aside, but now that I've checked with external CWM again, it appears there is now a "/system1, /system2, /data1, and /data2" file on the EMMC...
TL;DR: How do I restore Nook Color to stock 1.4.1 from CWM installed on an external SD card without flagging a "(bad)" error with the install?

I had successfully dual booted the CM7.2 and CM9 for months until my old 16GB card broke... This was the new card I bought last week and it's been nothing but problems, exacerbated by myself, probably :/

Easy solution. Go to my tips thread linked in my signature and make a bootable CWM card per item A10. Then flash my format 567 zip. Then go to item A15 and download my 1.4.3 stock ROM and flash that. Boot up, register and you are golden.
If you want to put a ROM on SD go to my updated SD instruction thread also in my signature.

EDIT 2 - so... booting from the SD card still doesn't work... It just hangs at the Cyanogen7 boot video looping over and over (left to go to the store, got back and it was still looping)... holding power button down just resets the device while the SD card is in, doesn't actually shut down for more than 4 seconds or so....
Should I post this as a new thread? I'll try searching for anybody else having this problem in the mean time...

Are you using Racks' dual boot SD? If so, how recent is it? You might want to go to his special CWM and clear dalvik cache and try rebooting again.

Yeah, I used the Dual Boot image I downloaded a couple days ago from Techerrata (I used the one at the top of the list that had the most downloads, connection I'm on is blocking Techerrata so I can't get the exact name ATM) with burned with Win32DiskImager, popped in the card and turned on but it just hangs. I'll try clearing the dalvik cache with his CWM image and see if it fixes anything..
EDIT - Ok, I tried clearing the cache, but it gives me the following error:
E:unkown volume path [/data]
I checked the Mounts and Storage Menu, and it looks like I still have "/system1, /system2, /data1, and /data2" directories, did the 567 format.zip not take care of whatever file structure or partition these were kept on in the EMMC?

The format 567 zip was for clearing the partitions on internal memory (emmc). Those partitions you are looking at are on the SD card (system1, etc).
You might just try clearing cache with his cwm rather than dalvik cache. You also might get a better response posting your dual boot question on the dual boot thread. I don't know a lot about the dual boot.

Sounds good, I'll try that. Thanks again for all the help, though!

One thing to note... the initial boot does take a while and sits on a black screen while the cache image and formatted. Racks has put that into the dual boots with loop mounting so each bootable system will have its own cache space and avoid overwriting cache data from nother ROM.

Good to know, but should it really take more than 90 minutes to initially boot? I let it boot up to CM7 on a freshly burned Class 10 card and left for the store, when I got back it was still at the boot video, watched it for another 5 minutes and it still didn't do anything... I don't really know what the problem is, could it be the card?

I have seen it take up to10 minutes, but 90 is definately excessive... I would suspect the card being the issue... class 10 cards are not good for running any operating system from. While they have exceptional sustained read/write speeds... they (generally) have poor random small read/write speeds, and this is the types of files used by an operating system.

Oh.. ok, well good to know! I'll pick up a different card today and see if that will work.
I got the Mirage 7.2 to work, by writing the "generic_sd.img" to the card, the coping the .zip download to the boot partition (renaming it to "update-cm7-mirage.zip" so the generic loader would see it)...
I inserted the card, booted, and Tux showed up and it ran through partitioning the card, expanding the mirage zip, and shutting down. However, when I turned it back on, it showed the Cyanogen mod bootloader, and I selected "SD Normal" but Tux showed up again and it went through trying to partition again (which it said was not needed, so it skipped) and finding an update- / .zip file (which it deleted when it expanded it before), same with the SD recovery boot option... Should I just try a new card?
EDIT - So, I was sick of messing with SD card booting, and realized I really don't care if I have the stock OS on it anymore since my warranty is about to run out anyway, I just rooted it an installed Mirage 7.2 and it works! Thanks for the help with the SD Card problems, though!
