app notification issue - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

everytime i update a new app, it always ask if i want to store it in my sd card..but i don't have one! it's internal memory. is there a way to fix this?

Do you have any file manager app installed? I have seen them ask where you want to install. The OS itself should not ask unless there is an option that I have not seen.

i have astro installed..would that be it? but i use it to browse for files and what not.

I just checked out the app in the market and a new feature is app to sd which is what I was referring too. Check your options in Astro to either set a perm default or disable the feature all together.

i cant seem to find this feature in the settings.

There are other apps that enable you to move most apps to sd card that generate such notifications. Perhaps google that and/or search for such apps in market and see if you have any of them installed. Also, check any app you have installed that has "app" as part of its name.

great! Found out it was Super Manager. Thanks!

[Q] Uninstalling an application that isn't in the Market anymore.

Hi everyone.
A while ago I installed an application called Fake Google Chrome icon.
Ever since I updated it it changes my homepage. Everyone is telling me to uninstall it, but it's not in the Market anymore.
How can I uninstall it if it's not in the Market?
I have an Evo...and I am using Fresh.
Thanks!
Menu -> Settings -> Applications
Find the app, tap on it, chose uninstall
I'd use Titanium Backup. It's a great program. Deleting apps is just one of many features. Some file managers (like ES File Explorer) allow you to delete apps also.

Thanks guys for all your replies. I went with using the app called uninstaller. Thanks again
I also just checked I can go to apps in the settings and I can uninstall from there.

I had the app backed up before the new update. So when I noticed that the app would change my homepage, I deleted it and used Titanium backup to restore the one previous to that update. So now I have the Fake Google Chrome (working without changing my homepage) even if its not in the market anymore. Thanks to titanium

I only tried with youtube, these other apps I dont will use and dont try with these. and I uninstalled it, these apps appears like youtube app in titanium backup
edit: I tried install google voice and google earth and no problem for me
I had a same problem on my Nexus S, what I did was, I navigated to /system/app/ folder on my phone with ES File Explorer, found the YouTube.apk and reinstalled it from there!
PS. Android Market and my phone showed the application as installed, and all options were greyed out (Open, Install, Uninstall)!
I fixed it with ep file explorer. Fix the youtube app
But still have problems with voice recorder thinkfree office and others that wont install and show up in my menu.

I cannot uninstall it with a free app. Google vpice or thinkfree are not even visible.
I can only see these apk files with ep file.explorer

My odd solution:
-Download GApps from Rom Manager...or wherever
-Flash GApps via recovery
-Reboot (Still no YouTube...)
-Go to Market
-Re-install Youtube from Market
When my YouTube "disappeared", it "appeared" in the Market as installed but the Open and Unistall buttons were greyed out. The icon in the drawer and the widget option were both gone.
I don't have that Think Free Office icon either in the apps drawer, but the TFO is installed in my phone. I was little bit confused about that thing, but now I see it's a common issue...?
I find it in xoom forum, thought it might help
If you have had a problem with the missing YouTube and/or Google Books applications, we have a workaround you can try.
Connect to WiFi network. (So far it looks like only WiFi Xooms have had this issue. Let me know if you have this on a Verizon Xoom.)
Go into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
Go to the "All" tab and then scroll down and select "Google Partner Setup."
Clear Data.
Reboot your Xoom. (That is, turn it off and on.)
If this doesn't work, perform a factory reset (Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset) and try the sequence above again.
Please let me know how if this works for you.

How? Was it the suggestion to clear data from the Google Partner Setup or something else?

Automatically check auto-update in Play Market for all apps

Hi all,
I've done my Googling, and I can't find a satisfactory answer to this. I'm looking for a way to bulk toggle all of my apps in the market so that they are all set to auto-update.
At the moment I have to manually set some of these, but going through each app one by one (huge pain!). These problem seems exasperated by changing ROMs and doing a Ti apps backup. I think that Play doesn't set these to auto-update for some reason.
I've tried checking the option in Play settings to Auto-Update by Default, but this doesn't do it. There is no option on Play Website to do this either...which I thought might be possible.
There used to be an app (no longer available) called "Market Autoupdate Bulk Toggle" which seemed like it would do what I wanted, but it's defunct from what I can gather.
Is this possible? Or do I have to do one by one? My phone is rooted so I can use root apps if needed, using JellyTime R12 at the moment.
Thanks.

When you install a new ROM and on its first boot, sign in on your Google account on the first setup..Your apps will be restored with their settings..
Hit the Thanks button if i helped you:laugh:
Thanks for your reply.
I always do that...and it makes no difference for me. Since any new ROM starts with data enabled, I would have thought this worked... but alas no. This is why I need a script or something to check all those auto update flags.

Huh?
The auto update in the market only updates the apps that are currently installed on your phone. And that is only if the developer hasn't changed any of the permissions. If he has, you must manually update the app no matter what.
Titanium backup is the best way that I have found, even though it is still not automatic.

I think I found the answer with help of other xda users. Ti pro has a market preference to set all or individual apps to auto update or not.

Disable apps from updates

Just posting a solution I found to work for a common problem.
Some people prefer an older version of a certain app, therefore they disable auto updates, which leaves it in your play store always there to remind you to update.
The solution I found that worked for me is to get the app apk, save it into your internal storage, uninstall the app, then download zipsigner from play store, find the apk in your internal storage, resign it using zipsigner, then reinstall the resigned apk. This will detach the app from the play store. Play store will not detect that you have that app installed.
Of course you will need the pre update apk, so hopefully you will have it in an old backup somewhere if you need to do this.

I've been wondering how to do this with Google maps. Thank you. I'll report to how it works.
Works absolutely perfect. Thanks again!!
