[Q] HELP ASAP!!! Software Update Failed and won't read SD Card:(((:(( - HD2 General

Before I succesfully flashed Custom Windows Rom and had Android in my SD card root folder. I also flashed HSPL and MAGLDR113 and CWM Recovery v3.2 trying to install Nexus. But I couldn't copy the Nexus...rar file cause I didn't locate the file on the computer.
So I decided to flash back to original ROM for my HD2.
I copied LEOIMG.nbh to SD card but then it said "File cannot be located" so basically it partially copied and when I rebooted my phone and it showed white screen with a message of an update. I cancelled update but nothing happened it just came back to the same message and tried to update software but it failed.
So now I stuck in tri-color bootloader with a message:
SS-B3
SPL-2.10.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(Touch) 0x40
I doesn't even read the card any more so I CANT DO ANYTHING!!
What's weird too when I checked SPL version it was 2.08 but now it's 2.10.
WTF is going on? Can anybody tell me? Is it fixable at all?(((

Ok this is what I would do, I would back up my SD card on my computer. Then I would do a full reformat of my SD card with Fat 32. then re download the Windows Mobile stock ROM for your HD2 and copy it to the re formatted SD card. I would only have the ROM on my SD card and then put it in my HD2 and boot it up into bootloader.
The ROM you tried to flash is what changed your SPL to 2.10.0000. Cause the SPL flashes before the ROM does. So that means it was something wrong with the ROM and it could not flash it.

Yeeeeaaaaayyyy!
I fixed it, man!
What I've missed is to launch bootloader pressing down button, then it showed USB mode at the bottom, after that I could flash stock ROM to my HD2!!!
Now it's all good.
The only thing I wonder now: what HSPL should I flash?
Is HSPL 2.08 still ok?

You must have flashed a official update for your HD2 so I would say yes cause you are still on official stock software. But I still suggest you do a little double checking to see that the ROM you have is a ROm that was released for your specific HD2.

Yep, I don't remember what link I used but I put in my IMEI so it referred me to a particular rom!
Back on track now testing some new ROMs.
Do u have any suggestions for Android ROMs?

Hello to you all,
I have some sort of the same problem. First my original windows 6.5 did not start up any more. That made me look on the internet to see what options there where to fix it. After finding a lot of options I choosed to install android on my system. That worked for a long time but unfortunately it also hung itself up. As a reaction I tried a hard reset and it looks like that was fatal for my phone because I cannot install anything anymore. The only thing I can come in is bootloader menu but when I want to install anything, it stops before finishing.
Is there someone who can help me with this problem? By forehand thanks!
Kind regards,
Jaimy

Big problem with my HD2

I think it's taken a knock and now it won't boot. I just get a white screen. If I try a hard reset it gives me the text that I'll wipe all personal settings etc.
I've flashed to a duttys ROM and a 2.x.50.x radio and I'm on O2. Is there any way I can fix this as I'm guessing the ROm update voided the warrenty. As the Hard reset shows text I can see something is working but even plugging it into my PC via USB gets no response.
If anyone can help it would be a major relief.
Let it do the hard reset and see what happens. So you'll lose what ever MMS/SMS you didn't delete, the programs you have loaded since putting the ROM on, etc etc. Your not going to lose all your numbers unless they are stored on the actual phone and not the SIM card.
You could try doing a task29 on it and see if that helps. As for the warranty being voided it just depends on whether or not it can be wiped and loading with a OEM ROM back onto it with the correct HSPL before sending it back. You haven't bricked it if you can get into bootloader or hard reset.
I have tried the hard reset but no joy. It runs the reset but then on boot back to white screen. I'm not fussed about the contacts etc as it's all backed up. Have removed the SD card too.
Do a task29 on it. Flash a new radio and ROM(would suggest OEM) and then get back to us. Worst case something got knocked loose inside and it needs to go to HTC for repair.

i've encountered this lately for some strange reason ( being a flash junky) but found my way out of it.
flash your stock ROM via sdcard method, this will reset the spl to the original. (you can easily flash hspl anyway afterwards when you tire of the stock rom).
Ignore my post below. Have drained the battery overnight and this morning have been able to boot to:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPl-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x30
SERIAL
From here I'm hopeful I can do something.

Sorry guys - but I don't understand how I am meant to do a task29 or ROM via SD card method when I cannot link by USB/ActiveSync or see anything on the screen.

The microSD method does not require your phone to connect to the computer.
Here from the newbie guide to flashing a ROM:
Download a shipped Rom from *HERE*
- Rename the extension to .zip
- open it with winzip and extract the RUU_signed.nbh file to a folder
- Rename it to LEOIMG.nbh and copy it to the root of a microSD card thats been formatted to FAT32
- Insert your storage card into your phone
- Enter Bootloader and follow onscreen instructions to flash
This flashes your phone back to warranty status - it replaces the HardSPL, the ROM and the Radio.
Once your phone is repaired, you can always HardSPL your phone again.
I've tried using the HSPL tool to re-install back to 1.41 and other SPLs. The application says it's successful but when I restart the bootloader still reads:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x30
have tried Flashing ROMs and running Task29. Everytime the Bootloader switches to the updating progress bar then crashes out to Error [262].
I dont have a card reader to try from the SD card but even if I did I'm starting to feel doubtful.
are you sure, that the radio is compatible with the rom?
i'm pretty sure its the same fail.
DN41
OK - booting from FAT32 formatted microSD.
Stock ROM failed
Radio_2.08.50.05 failed
maybe a corrupt image file ? try downloading another one and see if that helps
I've tried 2 images. They get to different points at the radio install then fail. Try to get another img.
Starting to despair a little now. Trying to get just the radio on to start with.
This radio installs up to 100% (instead of about 20%) then reads:
00018003
LEOIMG.nbh - FAIL
Radio_V2Fail
Update Terminate
UPDATE FAIL
I really am getting desperate now having spent almost all day working on this.
Try using the supplied 2GB microSD card that came with the phone. Sometimes there are problems with using larger cards.
Thanks for the idea however I'm using a spare 1GB.
Silly question, but it is an O2 original ROM (assuming that is what your phone originally had on it) you downloaded and are flashing and not an HTC stock ROM (ie 1.66 WWE)?
I have tried both.
I am on the same issue here. Have read almost anything i could find to fix this. Am able to change spl through hspl2 successfully but showing the same spl 1.42 hspl in bootloader. The thing is only unable to flash radio. I can flash a custom rom with sd card but after flashing when it boot up only a white screen is showing. When i try to install a official stock rom it shows that the radio v2 not installed successfully. So its probably radio problem. Hope some one could help us fix this. I tried installing a radio with the sd card and still gets the radio v2 fail. Tried installing custom rom and radio with the usb but doest go beyond 0% and error shown in the pc. HELP HELP HELP

With the steps I describe here I was able to recover the device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=668347
But only if you follow the exact steps!
I tried many stock roms first and all were stuck on the radio.
Only the method I describe worked for me.
Good luck.
for you guys across the pond, don't you have to flash a .51 radio, not a .50 that you were using for the custom ROMs?

Bricked? Stuck at gray loading screen

I've been hacking/modding/flashing for years with numerous devices and have never been this far down this path...I searched around and haven't found an answer or the same situation so I'm sorry if I overlooked a similar thread.
I've been running WP7 on my HD2 for a few months after running Android from the SD and NAND for a few months before that. Yesterday my touchscreen started getting VERY difficult to use, with it being both innacurate and unresponsive. It got progressively worse so this morning I reflashed the WP7 ROM without any problems. Even after that it continued getting worse to the point where the phone was unusable because the touchscreen would not respond to anything so I couldn't unlock the phone. The hardware keys worked fine. So I decided I would try to go back to WM6.5 in an attempt to isolate whether it was software or hardware. I'm on my work computer so it doesn't have the proper drivers for flashing, so I formated my SD card, put a TMO-US WM6.5 build on the root of the card, renamed it LEOIMG.nbh and put it back in.
I booted to the tri-color screen, pressed power to confirm the flash. It flashed the progress bar and then went to the loading screen. It stayed there for around 30 minutes so I pulled the battery out and attempted to try again, but then a screen comes up for a half second that says "Software update Failed! Please Try Again" and then it goes back to the loading screen. If I try to go back to the Tri-color screen it shows it for a second and says "ROM code error Please try again" then returns to the loading screen. Anybody have any advice? Anybody seen this before?
Got a full filename for the rom you flashed?
In bootloader what's the full spl line say?
What size SD card? The stock tmous one?
wow.. unless some how the flash to wm conflicted with magldr that should had worked...
When you start the phone holding down the volume key... Do you have the SDcard still in it and it just kicks you out of the bootloader? Technically ad long as the boot loader shows up it should be fixable but it kicks you out.. that a problem

This is the ROM I was flashing on the SD:
RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.1_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship.zip
I got it from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=655653
The bootloader says 2.08.0000 then MicroP something. It just flashes so it is hard to read too fast.
I am using an 8GB Class 4 card. I also tried it with the stock 16GB one but it did the same thing. When I tried flashing it, however, it was the 8GB card.

That's what I'm gathering as well. In my experience I've never been afraid of bricking because I've always been able to get to the bootloader. In this case, I can get to it, but it won't let me stay in it.
I finally got the phone to stay in bootloader mode, however when I try to flash any ROM, whether Task29, radio, stock, or cooked 6.5 it goes through the ROM Update Utility steps and then it stops at 0% for a few minutes before giving me an update communication error. This is what the Bootloader says:
PB81120 SS-B3
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
Upgrade ROM code error
Please Try Again
Thanks again for the help.
YOU donT have HSPL... Thats why flashing a cooked rom isnt working aswell ad everything else... flash a stock rom to get it up and running
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Yep, there's the problem. Any spl ending. 0000 is stock, you have 2.08.0000, you actually need 2.08.hspl.
Don't feel too silly though, its the most basic error there is, but still turns up daily.
When you flash a stock Rom from the SDCard it removes the HSPL... So you can try flashing a Stock ROM to see if the screen issues continue or put HSPL back on and flash something to it
also, what size is your SD card? Quite often, SD Cards over 2GB in size fail for rom updates via the SD Card method.
You could also go here: http://psas.revskills.de/?q=node/ and download the free version.
Run The program and select:
Menu-Hardware forensics-WINCE SD Utils and get your card serial number. (needs a windows mobile phone connected via activesync to the pc (with the card in it) to work though)'
Once you get the code, PM it to me and I will make a goldcard.img for you.
That way you can flash any rom without having hspl on the phone.
Again, this will only work with a card under 4gb. 1 or 2gb is recommended.

[Q] HELP!!! I might have bricked this phone trying to flash a stock rom via SD

Hi all,
I would really appreciate if someone can help me reverse this process. I have an HD2 that i need to restore it back to factory ROM/condition and return it to US T-Mobile. I previously have WP7 on nand, Android on SD, Radio 2.15, with Mgldr 1.13 with HSPL 3.
I followed the procedure for flashing through SD as it will remove the HSPL. So i downloaded the ROM from TmoUS website, renamed the file to LEOIMG.nbh, and put it on a 4gb class 2 (FAT32) card. Enter bootloader mode by holding down volume/power button. Then it said loading and ask if I want to write over the image, select yes ... then it start the process. Though, half way through i receive the error message! Now when i turn the phone on i can't get past the bootloader mode. Just the error message even when I try to flash again via SD (the process doesnt even start - just said "loading" then "not allow" error message). When i get it plugged in to flash via desktop, the device is not recognized by the update utility. I'm not sure what could have gone wrong .. but any help or tips to reverse this process is greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys!!
What does it say in bootloader now?
If i just power it on I get the blank screen that said "error installing rom" with the triangle and the exclamation mark in the middle. If I boot into bootloader mode it will first get to the screen where it said "loading" then shortly it will say "error" and "not allow" then take me back to the bootloader mode. though, I noticed that the SPL is now 3.03 instead of 2.08 .. but other than that, I couldnt find a way to flash it by SD or USB. Any suggestion on this? Thanks for your help Macgnolia!
Sounds like it flashed the correct SPL and may be failing on the ROM flash, it sounds like it may be flashing the correct radio too.
What I would do is keep your phone completely off for about 3 hours, then turn it back on into bootloader, then try the flash again.
It might have some random overheat thing going on or something. Since you're back to stock SPL, go ahead and flash via RUU instead of SD and see if that does anything, it should let you since it's a stock ROM you're flashing.
Yeah I am with Orangekid here it might help to let your HD2 rest for a while so the internal temp is reduced as it my be some kind of freak heat issue right now. The HD2 hates heat incase you did not know this. I would still like to know what the top line of your bootloader says so we will know if you have the right device I.D. and that you are not one of the unlucky people to get a their device I.D. mysteriously screwed up by a stock ROM flash.
I'm at work and can't really play with it but definitely I will try it again jz to see if its the heat issue. Also, you think it could be the issue with the card by any chance? I was reading on flashing with SD and there were some conflicting opinions about the class and format for SD. And this is my wifes hd2 .. she'll probably freak out .. hehehe ... Thanks guys '-)

card shouldn't matter as long as it's 8gb or less from my experience. Once it's off for a few hours just try to reflash stock via RUU and see what happens.
And yeah, go ahead and load up bootloader first to see what the top line says.
I just tested it again .. same problem! at the top right corner it says "RUUNBH" then the series of lines in the red portion of the screen as follows:
PB81120 SS-B3
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
Upgrade ROM code error
Please try again
and if I just power it on it goes to the error message .. then "loading" screen .. then "error" .. then "not allow" .. then back to bootloader mode but the third line now say MicroP-Wrong Platform (0x0)
any suggestion guys??
I thought it might have been that the download rom was corrupted .. went to tmo and download another one .. I tried to flash again .. get from bootloader mode .. then to loading mode .. and just stuck there ..

Have you try with different micro sd card?
battery pin check, whether it is bent.
Battery capacity should at least 50%
Did you rename the RUU_signed.nbh to leoimg.nbh?
When you transfer it to sd card, did you using card reader?
Anything is possible. Please take a look of the above check list
I'd be tempted to try a full change of spl, use hspl4 to drop spl from 3.03.0000 down to 2.08.0000 or 2.10.0000, then try first the 2.13 rom and then the 3.14 rom over USB again.

Done!! THANK YOU!!!!!
For some odd reasons, my laptop (win7 ultimate) always seems to have connection issues even with chevron for wp7. I plugged it in to my wife's laptop (vista ultimate) and it connects. I was reading your comment on a similar issue in another thread and along with your suggestion here .. I figured it must be HSPL issue. I first used HSPL4 to reinstall 2.08 and immediately mgldr popped up. Then i flash the Tmo stock ROM over it. Then use HSPL4 to flash over (twice) with 3.03 (the one without the HSPL).
It took away the Energy boot screen, now I'm on 3.14 with 2.15 radio. I checked bootloader and it saids the following:
PB81120 SS-B3
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
Which is a problem because I checked on the refurbished device they sent and it has SPL 2.10. And so, I put HSPL 3.03 back on there to flash via SD again. Now i run into the same problem I orginally did .. about 20% into the update process and it stops and said update error. Could this be something obvious that I'm doing wrong? and also is there a way to get spl 2.10 without SD flash??
Thanks bud
Edit: I did it again a couple times via SD and it worked! I checked bootloader and it said spl 2.10 so I guess everything is back to stock now. I guess I'm gonna throw it back in the box and send it off. Thank you everyone for the fast reply and for all the help on this issue ... you guys are awesome! Thanks

[Q] Returning HD2 from android back to stock, HELP!!!

Hi Guys,
I am getting desperate with my HD2. I've read and tried most of your advices here on XDA, but I can't get rid of HSPL from my phone and return to stock ROM to send it for repair.
When I tried to flash my phone directly from SD card with renamed .nbh file, it would always get stuck at some point of installation and would leave me with phone that wouldn't boot, neither Android nor Windows. When I flash the phone thru USB while in boot loader mode (i tried few roms and radios, most recently radio 2.06.51.07 with HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2 rom)
It would install correctly and even boot the Win Mobile, but once restarted it wouldn't boot again and would get stuck on a blank white screen. Also the HSPL is still shown on the boot loader screen.
when I repeated the process and installed both radio and rom again, the same thing would repeat and I'm stuck on blank screen again.
My boot loader screen shows this:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
cotulla HSPL 0x40
The phone was from UK Virgin mobile, but came unbranded and I'm not sure what the stock rom was. I tried flashing it with SPL 2.08, but that wouldn't get me rid off the HSPL.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Get hspl2, and choose 1.66.0000
Retry the wwe 1.66 rom again.
Post results.
Spl 2.x is tmous spl, and doesn't like to let itself downgrade, which is what the 1.66 rom is trying to do.
thanks for the reply!
Just tried and it went without any error logs (only took couple of seconds) and claimed it was successfully installed, but when restarted, the boot loader screen still says SPL-2.08 HSPL.
any other ideas?
stuck radio then, most likely, which often prevemts spl from changing too.
no definitive answer as to what exactly causes it, , corrupted nand most likely.
when you say it sticks part way thru the flashing, , does it stick around 8-10%? if so then its definitely a stuck radio problem. do you get 'radio_rsa fail' or something similar?
sadly there isn't any way i know of to fix it. all i can suggest is you try various troms from sd. i read one thread (out of hundreds with teh same issue) where the OP finally found one stock rom that took.
dont forget that it needs to be teh correct stock rom, not just any stock rom. so an O2 uk hd2 must use o2 uk stock roms. 1.42, 1.72 or 3.14.
locate your correct stock roms and try them all.
Yea exactly thats what I get when flashing from SD card, stuck soon at around 10% and brings up the radio fail log.
When I do that and try to flash them all from SD card, shall I install radio first or it doesn't matter when flashing ROM from SD card?
Any idea how to find out what's the stock rom for my hd2? I tried HTC site but you can't download anything from there for HD2 since they updated their site.
Also, shall the SD card be formated with ext3 system partition on it (the android setup) or just use an empty FAT32 formatted card?

pretty sure virgin phones came rom unlocked, so look at teh filenames of teh roms, , you want 'HTC-WWE' where HTC means unbranded, and wwe means world wide english.
example
o2 branded rom filename .. RUU_Leo_S_O2_UK_3.14.206.1_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
unbranded rom filename ... RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
ALso, see the green numbers? thats the same for all same roms, so all o2 roms are 206 and all unbranded wwe are 405
Also, shall the SD card be formated with ext3 system partition on it (the android setup) or just use an empty FAT32 formatted card?

shouldnt matter, but again it cant hurt to fully format the phone to fat32, full format, not quick format.

Thats because you are not booting into the right bootloader. See pt 4 below.
No need for all the hassle, there is a really easy way to do this. This will revert your phone ENTIRELY. Remember to have at least 50% battery before doing this:
1.Download official ROM and extract with winRAR or WinZip.
2.Rename the *.nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
3.Format a SD card with FAT32 and put the LEOIMG.nbh file in the root directory
4.Insert the card to the phone and enter bootloader (While phone is Off:Hold Volume down & press power button)
5. The bootloader will recognize the .nbh file and ask if you want to flash it. Follow instructions
6.Wait a few minutes and you are back to WM6.5
Tried, doesnt work. Explained in the first post.
why are you sending it for repair in the first place?
I dropped it once and since then has the screen got some weird yellowish/greenish colours. seems like some contacts got fu**ed up, but there isnt any mechanical damage visible, so they should repair under the warranty.
But only if in bootloader the spl says 1.42.0000 1.66.0000 or 3.03.0000
Anything else will be rejected.
What you mean by 'not the right boot loader'. I did get it to start installation and recognise the file, but after a while it would come up with a error log saying something like radio failed or something like that...
Yea I know, thats why Im trying to put it back to stock.
what size sd card are you flashing the .nbh file from? you will need to use a 4gb or smaller sd card.
what he meant by the right bootloader i think was to be flashing the .nbh from the tri-color bootloader, not from MAGLDR or CWM Recovery.
If you are using a 4gb or smaller card and it's still failing at the radio, then you might as well try flashing a few different radio's by themselves and maybe you'll get one of them to take, then possibly be able to get out of HSPL
well yea, thats what will be trying to do next.
it wont let me to MAGLDR or CWM, seems like these files got corrupted too so yea, im using the tri-color bootloader.
and its 2GB sd card im using
so i guess the only way now is to try flash different roms...
dude 2-3 days back even i was facing the same problem, and here i am writing , how i get through this. i guess you already tried this, but still i am writing so that you get some help...
1)i use hspl2 and select 1.42.0000 to remove my hspl 2.08.
2)extract stock rom using "7-zip" and in the extracted folder find "RUU_signed.nbh" rename it to "LEOIMG.nbh". copy that file to your formated fat32 micro sd card.
3) reset the your hd2 while holding vol down and end call button.
4) first a tri-color screen will appear, keep pressing both the buttons, then a gray screen will come with written "loading".
5) after that 1 more gray screen will appear, loose the vol down button now, rest everything will go smooth, u dont have to do anything.

5) after that 1 more gray screen will appear, loose the vol down button now, rest everything will go smooth, u dont have to do anything.

but if you return to hspl 1.42.000 the you cant flash your rom ..you need hspl 2.08 only to flash
Thanks zaaaan but I got bit luckier and virgin replaced the phone for no extra charge. I was 2 weeks before the end of the contract and I gave it a shot, sent it to virgin. They got back to me saying that they cant repair it and will therefore send me a replacement phone. I got new desire, bit smaller, but android on it runs really nicely and most of all its built for it, so no more flashing and killed hours of running in circles.
then I got 20£ discount just to stay with them on no contract. they got me
should probably add that the phone still had hspl on it

[q] help htc hd2 stuck on bootloader screen

i have spent countless hours on this and still have no idea how to fix it..ive searched many threads but none have helped..
i have a htc hd2 and had it on android NAND and just yesterday booting the windows 7 phone onto it.. after it finished the phone rebooted and was stuck on the maglrd screen where it had usb flasher and tetris and all that.. soon i then realized that the maglrd had to be on version 1.3 in order to put windows 7 on it and i had version 1.1 from when i put android on it.. so it was stuck on that screen.. so then i read from a forum that to unistall maglrd and android NAND download a stock ROM for your device then run the setup while your phone is on the tri-colored bootloader screen.. so i downloaded RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50 .07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship.exe and ran it while on the boot screen after it finished my phone rebooted but then it booted straight to the bootloader screen.. then i downloaded RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2. 15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe and tried the same thing but no luck.. im still stuck.. on the screen it says
PB81120 ss-B3
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x50
maybe that helps.. i dont know what my radio thing is
i admit im a noob i just need HELP
You just got REAL lucky,,, PB81120 is a tmous, right? Red end key green send? Says t mobile below the earpiece?
If yes, then that second rom you flashed is the only non tmous rom that wont DESTROY the phone.
Do NOT flash any more stock roms that don't say TMOUS in the filename.
My suggestion, get tmous 3.14 rom and flash from SD card. Assuming that goes well, then flash hspl magldr etc.
Yeah it's a tmobile phone.. But how can I flash from the sd card when it doesn't even show up on my computer.. I can't select the USB drive mode on my phone for it to pull up on the comp unless there's another program I can use to explore my phone
ah right, no card reader?
well, id get the three shipped tmous roms (2.10 2.13 and 3.14, , you already have the 2.10) and try flashing them again, see if you can get any of them to boot. If you can't id suspect the stuck radio/spl problem, meaning something isn't flashing correctly (usually the radio), but the best way to see this is by sd card flashing, so if you have any access at all to an sd card reader (another phone, perhaps?) then sd card flashing will show you on screen each section as it flashes.
Don't be confused by hspl not being removed after a flash, it won't be. We'll come to that later.
Don't forget you need a 4gb or smaller sd card for flashing.
DO NOT use ANY non tmous stock roms, you will end up with a brick.
EDIT - actually, a good test for the stuck radio/spl problem is to try running hspl3 (or hspl4) and changing the spl to anything other than it currently is (2.08.hspl). If it seems to go OK, but nothing changes in the bootscreen, then that's the problem, but be aware that you could potentially end up with no HSPL installed and no way to re apply it, so if you can get your cands on an sd card reader, go for that first.
thanks i already tried the tmous rom i already had with the 16gb sd card and also an 8gb.. i guess i need to buy another one.. i have a 3.14 rom but its not a tmous one.. where do i go to dowload them?
so first i need to get a 2gb sd card and try flashing with a tmous 2.10, 2.13, or 3.14 ROM before testing the stuck radio/spl problem correct?
maybe im just doing the flashing wrong.. first i extract the file using 7-zip .. then i rename the .nbh file to leoimg.nbh then i copy it to the sd card then unplug and turn on and let it run and press the reset button on the back when its finished.. and it says on the tri-colored screen that my the spl is 2.10.0000 now and underneath it now says MicroP(LED) and MicroP(TOUCH)
You need to use a 4Gb or smaller sd card to flash a rom using the sd card bootloader flashing method. Get your hands on one of those and you'll have no problem flashing a stock TMOUS rom.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

ok well that all looks ok, and your spl has changed from 2.08.hspl to 2.10.0000 .
Did you take note of the blue writing on the phone screen when you sd card flashed? looking out for ''rsa_radio fail'' or some such)
It says radio v2 ok. rcust ok. Boot loader ok. Splash ok. os ok. Configdata ok. Ruu wallpaper1 ok. Ruu wallpaper2 ok update complete update success .... And it still didn't work with a 2gb micro sd card and a tmous 3.14 rom
and how would I even change my hspl to 3 or 4 if my phone doesn't even show up on the computer.. It wouldn't connect to active sync
what if i plug in my phone and instead of flashing with the sd card just click on RomUtilityUpdate and let it run?
yep do that. You can flash from teh bootloader screen, doesnt have to connect to activesync, so long as it says USB in teh white bit of teh bootloader screen.
it's still not working.. I've tried 2.13 and 2.14 ... I'm about to try 2.10 .. But I doubt it'll work
Nope still nothing..
looks like a warranty issue then (assuming its still under warranty?) at least the spl is now warranty safe.
So what does that mean.. do i take it into the store then an they fix it?
won't they just tell me to go since i tampered with the system?
so long as the spl says 2.xx.0000 (the 0000 is the important bit) and you cant see anything like magldr, , , are there any obvious signs? it doesnt boot does it? (im on my pohone one handed, im not checking back thru the thread )
Right now it's 2.10.0000 an it still doesn't boot
Then there's no way anyone can tell you've been flashing. Anything a tech does to make it work will wipe any evidence.(unless they forensically examined it, which they don't)
Gotta be out of warranty by now tho? And if its a paid repair it doesn't matter if you've been flashing.
Oh i see.. and yes it's out of warranty.. i guess i'll just take it to the store then
They basically said the phone is no more.. but i was just talking it employees at the place so maybe i need to talk to a tech person or something..
bootloader problm
is there any software which can put my hd2 tmus into bootloader...as i cant get into boolder by holding vol down key....wat can ido....
