Hi,
I just got my new Jawbone Icon series Bluetooth and I use the Google voice search a lot.
When Bluetooth is turned on, I've noticed that I can't use voice search, the 'speak now' is not detecting when I am talking to it.
But when Bluetooth is disabled it will work just fine.
Sent from my DROIDX
I couldn't get my Voyager Pro to work with voice search or commands until I upgraded to .602. Then suddenly it works fine

bt headset w/ voice recognition
Nokia HS-12w works great w/ the jasjam. Push phone button to answer calls and if you push more than a second, will enable voice commands. Also has fm radio and buttons to control media player remotely!
1. look at my thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=283797
2. dont know
Any of you guys had managed to get the voice commands coming out from your BT headsets using MS VC 1.6?
i.e. you press BT headset to activate VC 1.6, instructions from VC 1.6 comes through BT headset, you give instructions through Mic of BT headset.
I tried searching in the forum and only managed to find one thread here but that seems to be only applicable to Hermes.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Working flawless on my wizard. did you setup VC6 to announce via BT? sometimes we miss the simplest things
EDIT: I'm using the motorola H500
From MS Voice Command troubleshooting
Bluetooth Usage Trouble
Pressing the Bluetooth headset button doesn’t do anything
You must soft reset your phone after you’ve installed Voice Command before the Bluetooth headset will work for initiating Voice Commands.
If this doesn’t resolve the problem, it is likely that you are trying to use the Bluetooth functionality on an unsupported device. Voice Command’s Bluetooth functionality will work on devices that include the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, that conform to Microsoft’s guidelines for Bluetooth driver implementation, and for devices that have the correct hardware implementation necessary to route system audio through the Bluetooth headset.
If you have a device that does not include the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, you may be able to route all system audio through the headset using the Bluetooth stack vendor’s Bluetooth control panel. If you can, you can use Voice Command over Bluetooth by pressing a hardware button on the device and conducting the interaction via the headset. The Bluetooth audio routing options will not work properly on devices that do not use the Microsoft Bluetooth stack. You should select “Announce notifications using Bluetooth hands free if available” on these devices.

You were right. I missed setting up VC 1.6 to announce via BT. BTW, I had since set it to 2nd option from top, i.e. Annouce notifications using BT hands free if available. When I received an incoming call earlier, I believe the notifications came through the speakerphone as well as my BT headset, and when I spoke, I believe it went through the BT headset. Is this behaviour correct?
If I set to 1st option of Announce notifications using BT hands free only, does it mean incoming calls will go to BT head set only, and nothing from speakerphone?
Thanks.

When you initiate a call with the BT hands free button, does the instructions from VC 1.6 come from your Wizard or BT hands free? If you give your instructions, does it goes through the BT hands free MIC or Wizard Mic?
I'm having an intermittant problem with the voice announcing. I can initiate the voice command with the button on my bt headset, I get the little beeps prompting me to speak, I give the command and then 75% of the time I dont get the voice announcement back saying "call soandso home?" but the contact will come up on the screen Every now and then I will get the voice prompt...cant figure out why its intermittant.
I'm using the plantronics 655 with the tmobile wing.
no matter how I try to make it work, I cannot get voice dialing to work over my bluetooth headset. Anyone having this problem?

I think EVERYONE
the moment comes with nuance, is there any way to rip that out and add it to the hero?
For some reason, I find it easier to use the Voice Search app instead of the Voice Dialing app. If I say, "Call Dennis at Home" it works every time. BTW, I'm using a Jawbone Icon Rogue earpiece, which now supports A2DP. I do have to initiate the Voice Search by tapping the icon on the phone, though.
Bluetooth voice dialing
I would love to see one of the devs tackle this one. I have had true tap your BT device and voice dial since I started carrying a smartphone, UNTIL I switched to Android a few months ago.
Please devs, someone tackle this one. Even my old MotoQ with Winmo did it perfectly. I know you guys can do it better. Look how good Google Voice is with the keyboard and search now.
I have tried to get Nuance Voice from the Moment to work on the hero, and the phones are just too different and Nuance is to integrated to the moment. It works great though. Thats the ONLY good thing about that damn phone.
finally fixing blue tooth
Saw a recent post on phandroid that this will be fixed in android 2.2 (froyo)
And I quote:
" •Voice dialing over Bluetooth
•Ability to share contacts with other phones
•Support for Bluetooth enabled car and desk docks
•Improved compatibility matrix with car kits and headsets "
Hi Guys,
I played with one of the original desire roms from my SD ages ago, and I used to be able to initiate Google Voice Dialer from my bluetooth carset. I have now switched my ROM to NAND and am using a Desire HD based version and that feature nolonger works even though I have added the voice app from the market.
Is there anyway to iniate an application from your bluetooth headset on 2.2.1 (well a desire HD build anyway)?
Cheers
Did you install Google Voice Search?
Yeah, but it doesn't trigger from the headset. Strange as it did for the ROM that i originally tried.
Edit:
This is the one I first used and it worked on....

Sorry, you said won't trigger from carset? What do you mean?
You have a car with the communications package that includes a bluetooth unit? You initiate the call on your phone via BT, by hitting the call button on the steering?
Or one of those aftermarket units?
Its an after market unit (a parrott). Its just like using a normal bluetooth headset. The button works in the same way and has worked for wm 6.5 using Voice Command, and has work for the Android Rom used in the previous link.
The phone is paired/connected to the bluetooth headset/unit, you then press the button on the headset/unit, that in turn launches a voice dialler app.
Hi,
Does anyone experience problems with voice dialing with bluetooth headset? I've got Plantronics ML20 and while it pairs correctly with my SGS2 (with latest nightly), it works only partially. I can receive incoming calls and it works without problems, but whenever I try to initiate voice function (like voice search in GNow, for example, or voice commands) application just hangs - GNow just states "Initializing" and nothing happens.
I've checked logcat and every time I try to use headset I get lots of errors:
Code:
/TinyALSA-Audio Input(1867): pcm read failed!
Have anyone else had such problems? Because apart from that (and camcoder, but that's a given) ROM works perfectly for me and I'd like to use it as daily driver.

It worked very well on Samsung's stock 4.1.2 JB and was very useful while driving. I switched Samsung's default voice commander to GNow voice search using Bluetooth Launch and it just worked.
