Life After Ice Cream Sandwich - Epic 4G General

If you noticed, Android's Tendacy to choose sweets for builds has become evident.
Cupcake
Donut
Eclair
Froyo
Gingerbread
HoneyComb
Ice Cream Sandwhich
The next *should* start with 'J' but what could that be?
Jam? Jelly? Juggernaut? (Ok maybe not that last one, but feel free to post your thoughts...)

So, any details about what ICS will improve from GB and what got pushed to Jelly Bean?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium

From what I read in the article provided, ics is bringing the tablet and phone closer together, and jelly bean is for game changing stuff. I could see the ps vita from sony running jelly bean.

I guess we have to live with it......... better than nothing.
CM8 and ICS MIUI will be awesome alone. I personally prefer the AOSP style ROMs.... they seem quicker and stabler.

The only reason we are hearing about jelly bean is because some features of ICS wont make the deadline...
Its cool to know, but I will look into it more when I have a phone that I feel confident will get it. If ICS is in question for the Epic, I can't believe Jelly Bean is even in the realm of possibility.

There was a rom that had a booting honeycomb, but it was abandoned, basically because it wasn't practical.
So to answer you, no.
The thread can be found in the dev section.
you may want to wait until Android 4.0 codename "Ice Cream Sandwich" is released, as I'm certain there will be ROM's created for the EVO and other devices. It will be for both phones and tablets, and it will be nearly identical in appearance for both.
Honeycomb is only for tablets.

Jelly bean possibilities

Just wondering what everyone thinks of the wonderful 4.1 world to come and if people will leave tw or ics behind for some jbs. Also if ICS roms like aokp or remics along with others will make the move or if we need some all new ones? Thoughts?

To add some substance to this thread and prevent lockdown, I'm going to say any ICS ROM with a large user base will be ported over. Not going to JB doesn't make sense because its ICS... but better.
I'm sure once Samsung releases JB TW for the GS3 that ports will be made.

So instead of bashing on someones post how about you answer it or just leave it alone? Gees it seems like I cant't view a thread anymore without people thinking they are so awesome, if you think you are so cool on xda look at this:

That's what I thought too. That ics was a convergence so that there would no longer be separate versions of android for tablets and phones.
Now I'm just plain confused. I thought ICS runs on phones only and honeycomb was still the standard tablet software. So maybe KLP will run on both phones and tablets?

ICS was a merging of phone and tablet Android into a "unified" platform.
JB was an inclusion of features which were "not yet" ready for ICS, which means that they probably were ready but just didn't make the cut in Google's case since they tend to be on the next thing by the time they show you what they do have.
Whatever the next iteration of Android is going to be, it's going to carry that same unity across both platforms the same way, as it's not likely Google would throw that away after they managed to achieve that.
