Hi guys there's been a lot of movement in WP7 development for the HD2, I just wonder which is the best WP7 rom, that you guys have tried.
Thanks for your feedback.
I tried some custom ROMs. My favorite is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953078. really a top Rom, fast, no bugs found, and all were detected sd cards
It's honestly tiring reading these posts, why don't you just simply try out each rom and judge for yourself which is the best for you?
I'm not bagging on you but is it too much trouble to use 2-3 minute to flash a new rom? Find one out there that you think suits you the best because everybody has a personal preference.
Sorry bazinga I just think that it takes 2-3 minutes plus a little more time to really evaluate the features of a rom, you know, battery drainage, wi-fi, among others, that’s why I’m asking to the people of this awesome forum to help me with their experiences. That's all.

Oh in that case, I personally use Football's WP7 Rom.
With the battery registry tweak and using the 2.12 radio (on the TMOUS HD2), I've been getting pretty decent battery life, somewhere around ~60% after moderate use over 12 hours. The Wi-fi works flawless as it can connect to both secure and open networks. Phone and SMS works as usual and the zune integration is such a nice feature. Get an activation from M$ to start using all live features.
I haven't switched to other roms, although at least 4 have popped up this week, because there simply isn't a way to backup/restore SMS and other apps after flashing a rom. For you, you should check out the other ones but for now, I'll stick to Football's rom. No problems for me
I've tried a couple roms, but to be honest, they're all pretty much the same. There's not much to be changed in wp7 yet, and all the custom roms have the same tweaks and fixes done to them. The only one that seems a little different is XBoxmod's rom, as he does some changes to the icons, so I've been sticking with his rom because he seems to know more about the inner workings and tweaks for wp7. He also has a stock version available.
I don't really see the point of all these other people releasing roms that are no different from roms already out except maybe having a different lock screen.... but hopefully as things are learned, the different roms will become more customized.

Thank you so much guys for your fast and useful response, now I have a clearer view about the WP7 roms for the HD2.
Thanks again .
I've tried quite a few and currently running one (HD7 T3982 or something) which is pretty good, the builtin jailbreak helps as Chevron no longer works on the cpotulla nand...having said that, the original is much faster and to my eyes, has supoerior colours, might be first love syndrome.-)

Vibhu
Ok, Which one is the best rom in 2012 so far?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=977 look here and first 4 topics.... this is most used ROM's in moment.... differences between is small... only problem can be in incompatibility of sdcard's
My two cents.
Let’s imagine you’re like me : you have an EU HD2 with 512 Nand space. You like to download apps; after all, it’s Android, not WM6.5 or WP7. So you’re like me and have around 150 apps on your phone using an ext partition. You also like “stock look”, whether it’s Cyanogen, MIUI or Sense. Also, let’s imagine you’re not a newbie : you know how to handle partition size editing flash.cfg files, how to install various A2SD methods, how to read changelogs and instructions, etc.
You have to agree this is not an excessive profile; just a guy with 512mb Nand, like his apps on EXT and his looks clean…
So, what's your daily stable ROM ? Answer is easy : none.
Since a month or two, Android on HD2 has been going downhill if you consider these points. Let’s “review” ROMS by category (and not ROMS in particular, I don't want to blame in particular)…
- Stock Android/CyanogenMOD :
they used to be great. They still are actually. Fast, stable and editable as you wish. You do have some FC from time to time or need to reboot but that’s ok. Even Hyperdroid now with its CM-based version can be themed to stock. And they got great darktremor A2SD support with a lot of space on NAND and EXT.
Problem ? Since several releases, there is a huge bug (see my sig) that causes incoming calls to be just silent or a “shhhh” whether it's stock or cm. You need to pull out the battery and wait 10 minutes for the reboot. Great when you are waiting an important call. No fixes around, no chefs really caring to fix it either.
A smartphone than can’t be used as a phone is just “smart” and pointless.
- MIUI :
I don’t like it’s Iphoney style but it’s fast, editable and some features are nice.
Problem ? Try to find one with really working A2SD in the long term ! Since SD days, this has been an issue. Whether it is darktremor’s method or A2SDkiller + data2sd installer method, you get either in a bootloop after 5 restarts, either the apps on EXT won’t show, just blank icons. And I tried every MIUI rom out there !
Next !
- Sense :
it used to be slow but stable/working (rafpigna), now it’s fast but buggy. Sense chefs are like kids with the new Sense 3.0. As soon it was released, they rushed into the store leaving behind their previous beloved toys/roms. So instead of a full working old Sense, you get 37 versions of instable 2.1 or highly buggy 3.0, or a mix of both.
Imilkaaa’s ROMs all suffer from a major A2SD bug that leads many apps or games on EXT to FC. And as many recent Sense roms are based of that A2SD method, they all have the same bug. No chefs seems to care about that. Cmylxgo’s ROMS leave not enough space on NAND for apps, etc.
So ? Well Rafpigna 4.0.2, a two months old ROM, still not really optimized is the latest fully stable Sense Rom. Slow but stable.
You see my point. Let’s be clear : I know chefs are working for free, I know they don’t owe us anything; I even donated to several of them.
But my message is : chefs or devs, STOP updating your ROMS daily for matching the latest line of code released and start working on stabilizing your ROM(s). We need our phone to call, to be called and we need our phone to work.
Experimental builds are fine of course but today, they are too many and it has become a nightmare for someone who just wants to have things working. Of course, I could flash two months old ROM for that matter…but I had the naivety to believe that chefs do care about offering a stable experience to the community.
I prey for charnsingh_online call to be heard : we need devs to work on optimizing/stabilizing the experience, not bringing new bugs every day or two.
The solution for now ? Learning to cook my own ROM (I might work on that but I have 0 knowledge and not much time unfortunately) or go back to WM6.5. You can imagine which one I’m considering now.
Please, let this be a discussion and not an trial.
Why didn't you just stick with a build you liked?
OP obviously works at Microsoft.
Hmmm,
well, I´m using still MDJ´s oldfashioned CM7 2.7 (and some fixes from that thread) and don´t know what you´re talking about.
I have a stable, fast, goodlooking and reliable ROM on my HD2.
I love Android
Since you have tested/used enough Android ROMS and your knowledge seems extended as I can see, you must have concluded to the fact that WM6.5 is a joke...
The solution for now is to stick to the ROM that works for you best, either it is NAND, RAM or SD. And since you're satisfied with it, don't flash every other day a different ROM. This way you don't have the time to actually 'use' the phone and appreciate its huge capabilities.
I was a WM user since 2004 with Windows Mobile 2003 SE, so I am happy I have gotten rid of them.
thinking the same thing...
A lot of roms but not one which is just stock and clean. (except typhoon, but which suffers by bugs too).
Don't understand why everybody just must "tweak" their roms so madly...
I see your points and obviously I could stick with a ROM that used to work and I will probably. I spent part of the day flashing all the ROMS from the Nand section's first page and I will now spent the rest of the day flashing old ROMS to remember the ones that were doing it for me.
Don't get me wrong : I'm ok with things not running perfectly. It's Android on a non-native Android device after all. But I'm frustrated to see the general level of stability/usability going down and even to loose some features !
Ex : if you want recent and fully working stock Sense with enough space for apps, your only choice is imilka's Incredible Sense with its major a2sd and wifi connectivity bugs. CoreDroid is heavily themed and Cmylxgo doesn't leave enough space for apps.
And while I could revert to rafpigna outdated but stable work, it's hard to do so when you tasted the speed of the latest build.
I have the impression that some chiefs just "hit and run" : "Bam, here's the newest features ! Don't ask for support and see you in two weeks for more new features and news bugs !" I'm joking...
I guess I should start learning how to **** ROMS. I've spent my day messing around with .zips content, I might take the big plunge...
Maybe you'd like to try Typhoon CM7 v2.7.6. I was using it for a few months and found absolutely no problem with it. No bugs whatsoever, everything is fast.
I've switched to Lady MIUI now.. Just for a change but it still has some quirks. The CM7 build I've introduced though is really solid, surprised that I didn't have any problem with it.

I never used to have a very stable build, until I tried MIUI.
I HATE the iphone look, so I use MIUI, but with Go-Launcher EX.....then it looks nothing like an Iphone and is 100% stable.
To be honest, i'm just VERY VERY greatful that I have been lucky enough to have DEVELOPERS on this site, who work their asses off and give us all these lovely ROMS and greatful that they have enabled us to have Android.
Otherwise, most of us would have got rid of or HD2 by now.
Can you imagine how much it would cost if one of us approached a developer not a member of these forums and asked him to build a ROM for us.
How many hundreds of dollars would that cost - scary!
If it wasn't for Devs working their butts off, mostly for free, apart from donations, then this subject wouldn't even exist.
OK, you said "you like apps stick with WM6.5"
Right, here is a list of just a few apps I have on my phone.
If you can provide me with a link to a site where an equivalent app exists on windows mobile 6.5, then, well....we'll see.
1: Swarm Torrent
2: Battery Left Pro
3: Fast Burst Camera
4: Talking Tom Cat
5: Sheriff Droid
6: Appmonster Pro
Awaiting your reply......

matt
i use motoman mytouch4g for daily usage and it very stable and i like it
i also love to try others roms
lately i tested new bulid of wp7
had bad experience with it ie luncking taking long time
connect to marketplace too running camera twice in a row dont boost the time that take it to load so i backed to android
I am due to receive my device in the coming days and I already know the ins-and -outs of the flashing process.
What I can't decide on is whether I should flash the VegaComb 3.2 build 8.1 rom which is honeycomb (what I originally wanted) or whether to flash the Corvus 5 rom with honeycomb theme which allows me to overclock and use as a USB host device.
Anyone willing to help? as of yet I haven't had a chance to try either of these roms personally,
many thanks
Im using vegacomb love its smoothness and layout but its really self preference you have to decide what you wil use the vega for then look at wat rom will suit your needs either way welcome
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Thanks, wondered whether vegacomb was fast enough for intensive use
Mind you I could flash both and keep a nandroid backup of each, thanks for the help
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Vegacomb is more than fast enough far everyday use. I am sure the usb host will be added in future updates. You could always get a dock if the host mode is a must. I will never go back to a froyo based rom. Froyo is for phones and it shows!!
For me Vegacomb is a must for the vega. Hats off to TeamNewCo, they have done a fantastic job.
Take it easy.
Hi there, I'm a long time Lurker on these forums but just thought I would put my two pennethworth in! I just got my Vega on Wednesday and after some messing about/research I followed a YouTube vid and flashed to Vegacomb and all I can say is WOW. It does so much more than the stock, the games work well and the films I've watched at work have been spot on. It also looks very smooth and has upset some of the Apple fanboys who think they own the rights to this stuff (NOT!). No complaints from me with this lot.
Also a big thanks to all those who are putting so much into developing it!
No, this is not one of the usual 'What's the best ROM out there' threads.
I am looking for something specific and hoping all you people can be of help.
I have been using a MIUI NAND ROM for some time now and been very happy with it but am now looking for a change with all the new stuff I see out there.
However, one of the reasons I am using the MIUI ROM is that it was one of the few at the time that supported WiFi Hotspot. The Gingerbread ROMs at the time didn't work.
Do any of the newer ICS ROM's support Hotspot working? If so, which ones have people used. I would perhaps like a move back to a Sense ROM if there is one our there to recommend, but this isn't a prime requirement.
Before you all shout at me, I have looked through the current threads on ROM's, but the issue of working Hotspot is not one that crops up very often, hence this question.
Thanks for reading, and looking forward to all your recommendations
If you read carefully you'll find that in most cases its NATIVE Wi-Fi hotspot that doesn't work, whilst third party hotspot apps do. No I can't recommend one, never used it.
+1 really wanna push this thread....
I basically got stuck with 2 (/3)
NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 V1.1 tytung <--my old favourite, had this installed for 2 days (until I broke my "new" phone - but will work again this week)
PACman HD2 v1.1 [PA/AOKP/CM10] Xylo <--my new favourite, from what I read
(EvoHD2v10 ICS 4.0.4-full HWA "Fastest ICS ever" ) <--whats with good old ICS?
convince me. I want a stable running daily use OS. shouldnt have major bugs (like reboots/having to restart/phone etc.), like in tytungs ROM, I once answered a call and there was just a "brrrrrrrrrrrrrr" <--"phone" not responding do you want to close it, pretty bad
If its very customizable/technical (like xylo) - fine, I love to be able to engineer my own things (I dont care if minor bugs)
so what do you guys think? which one do you enjoy the most and why
Hello to all...
I'm working some months by now, in a mobile games developing company (for both iOS & Android).
So, I had to own both OS' devices, to testing my work of our games (in the devices); I bought a used iPhone 4 16GB and now I need to buy an Android one. I've checked and a nice 'n cheap Android's choice is about $150 or so.
Well, I thought to use my former device, a TMobile USA HD2, to port a NAND Android rom.
The problem is, I stopped dealing with my ex-HD2 since I had ported the "Energy" WM6.5...
So, I don't know what's the process to port a NAND Android rom - I mean a modern one, a new build.
Also, I need a suggestion for such a rom; I want a very stable & fast one, "all-in" rom. I don't want to deal with the Android, I won't start searching for apps and such - just I need a fast/stable/"completed" Android device, to install our games there and checking my work.
Kind regards to everyone who likes to help me on this issue.
Hello and welcome,
First, please use a descriptive title
The HD2 is quite an old device, so if you are to build heavy games, don't expect them to run on the HD2, or at least run well.
As for the ROMs, almost all the roms on the first page (ICS) are fully working, just make sure to double check the first few posts to know what's going on. And you can find how-tos almost everywhere, a quick search on google/youtube will help you.
Good luck in everything .
Thxs for your answer.
M8, I'm working on CASINO's games. Therefore, are not so "heavy".

If you want a complete rom try Tytung NexusHD2 Ics 4.0.4 rom.
It is the best rom you will get for tmous hd2.
I am using the same rom and very happy with it. :good:
I did, thxs - but not the "HD", the "ice-cream" of him.
The other one is more "new", maybe more slow for the "good-old" HD2.
