What does it do? I tried turning it on while using DesiredInc and nothing happened.
It's supposed to to make the icons/widgets on your home screen tilt when you tilt the phone. It doesn't always work for me and it's kind of annoying when it does so I never use it.
-xdadevelopers-user
I've also seen it get stuck on after you turn it off, and it doesn't always return to "flat" when the phone is flat, so you're stuck looking at a screen full of widgets and icons that are all jacked to the side like some ghetto sleigh with hydraulics.
It's a lame 3D gimmick. It was cool for the first time seeing my phone do it and then annoying thereafter so I never use it anymore.
Well, mine is stuck on, but literally nothing has change. Naturally, I want to see the effect, even if it's horrible. What rom supports it?
I know it works on Nils business gingersense. I wouldn't call it 3d so much as a waterbed effect, it simply bends the perspective of the clock and icons. Best way I can describe it
3D
It's a feature that makes your friends go WHOA!!! Apart from that, it's just dumb.
I enable it to show off my phone sometimes, but thank goodness you can kill it if you want to.
I personally like newtoroot's Incredible 3D v1.1. I like the rom for other reasons besides the 3D tilt, but that was pretty cool too. Didn't have any problem with turning the 3D off an on.
Its probably more impressive on evo 3d but nothing amazing still.

I haven't really seen much mentioned about it, so maybe I'm more bothered by it than you guys, but the newest Hero leak's rosie is missing the ability to grab the thing at the bottom and quickly flip through all the screens. Seems kinda ironic to start calling it TouchFLO after you take out the part that makes it touch flow!
To me, that's one of the things that made it so sweet. With out it, its just another 7 screen home (minus the fact that you get the widgets with it and all). Using 6 swipes to flip through your home is annoying as hell.
But that aside, it still is (for the most part) the same speed as the beta version (when ported to the G1, that is), and still has no landscape mode. Taking those in to consideration, you basically have the same thing, but with one less feature.
HTC you f'ed up.
Sorry, I needed to rant.
I also find my self missing that feature.
Oh well, you can't have everything.
lol only thing I miss is the reliability of all other ROM's not Rosie related....
I think JACHero 2.3.3 is the best ROM which is out atm.
Rosie is useable, and really, I never used this thing at the bottom, it was too fast.
I only use 3 of the 7 hoemscreen:
The middle one for icons and 2 toogles.
Middle-left for WeatherWidget
Middle-right for Bookmarks widget.
That's all. And with this configuration, Rosie works really fluently.

Pretty much this.
Had my aria for a month now and never recognized this...
On your homescreen click to add a widget to it. Now look at the top of the list..
You can download additional HTC widgets not listed. There's a battery widget that shows percentage and, takes you to battery info when you click on it. Along with a dozen other widgets. Apparently its a list that gets updated at HTC's choosing.
Clicking menu gives refresh list and setting options
Damn I love HTC
Yeah, I discovered this a while ago.
Still a nice surprise--I was particularly delighted to find a Profile widget, which I felt was one of the things that was missing from the phone. Sure beats long pressing the power key to switch profiles.
Just as a note, this only works with the Sense UI. Or, at the very least, the option is not there with Launcher Pro.
Noticed it first day and had battery widget but it lacks the functionality of the battery widget by geekyouup free in the market.
Nice that HTC is thinking of its users though!

Cool thanks didn't even notice it!
Thanks! I had not noticed it.
Awesome find I never noticed that now I know 4 people with the aria and all of us are missing the outer camera lens that keeps stuff out of the camera hole, has anyone noticed this? The att store demo phone is missing it as well

The notepad/post-it widget is really good. I definitely suggest it. I use it everyday for quick notes and as a To Do list. Best of all it sets on your screen and gives you 10 pages you can flip through.
Thanks, I'd missed that, good call.
I like how the notes app will let you draw on the screen, nice touch.

dam i missed this on my GF's aria haha
I found that juss from being bored and digging around in my fone Lol

Love this widget, but want to run LauncherPro ... is there another widget like it on the market? Thanks!
So i've been watching videos of both stock android (Nexus one, G2) and videos of the Desire HD rom with Sense on other devices. Something that's become quite apparent in the sense rom is that HTC decided to strip a lot of the nice animations that make stock android pleasing to the eye.
Examples include, when you open and app you get a zoom in effect, and when u close it u get a zoom out. Also when the keyboard pops up it sort of slides from the bottom. Another is when you open the app tray, the icons fly in.
But on sense there's no animations. Everything just appears instantly. That really is sort of putting me off Sense, and that's a big disappointment considering i like the look of HTC's widgets.
Has anybody else noticed this? What do you think of it?
Agree to disagree...
...
Must say, you are right, but aren't the guys from Cyanogen Mod going to do something about that?!
CyanogenModders only work with stock Android, so whatever magic dust they decide to sprinkle on the DHD, it will not have Sense in the mix
Next week is looming large... Im gonna take a day off work to show my new baby some love when it arrives)))
I had a nexus and the zoom's are really nothing to write home about

Im sorry to say but you are wrong. If you go to the display settings and under animations set it to 'All' you will get keyboard sliding animations, screen transition animations, the only thing you dont get is a 3D effect with the app draw, but it does slid nicely into view from the bottom and is just more professional. However as mentioned previously its android, customise! Add all the animations you want!!

could u tell me what all the options are? thanks
The Desire HD Sense has a fade in/out effect by default for both Sense tabs and applications unlike older Sense versions ... its actually very pleasing and runs smoothly on HD2 so definitely will be awesome on the actual HD
Animations are nice eyecandy, but everytime they play you have to wait till they are finished. After some time they'll only anoy me. I am happy with as few animations as possible, so I turned them off. Just my humble opinion.

Call me picky, but does anyone know how to make the brightness fade in/out smoothly or not happen at all on the Vibrant? It's the only thing I miss about my days on the iphone before joining "team Android." When I click the home button to lock the phone it does the 50% brightness, then black. Looks like crap..This is on AOSP JK2 that I just loaded...maybe it's a ROM thing. Anyone know? Thanks a lot
When I press power mine fades quickly and then to black.... Personally, I've NEVER even noticed this... if this is the ONE thing you miss from iPhone, I think you chose correctly.
Hmm, it must be ROM-specific then. It's not a deal-breaker lol. Just something I can't figure out in the settings. It really looks like crap -- so contrary to the rest of the smooth-running android interface
Try Axura out... I think you will like it, very easy on the eye and very cool animations/boot screen. Power button makes it fade slightly too.
His .5 release should be out soon, but I would go ahead and try .4.
Awesome, will do. Checked it out -- looks solid!
Right on man... I am a BIG fan of his ROMs now. I hear the .5 update brings some more speed too. I would encourage the BlackFroyo theme on top, very easy on the eye.
okie...so my hd2 is completely dead...and im gonna assume i can't bring it back to life...so i'm in the market for a new phone...
things i would love to have with a phone...
-must be pretty/cute
-i like big screens (bigger than my ipod 4g would be awesome)
-shiny screen..
-touch screen
-a slider would be nice..(but only optional)
-oooh an awesome camera...just as good or better than my hd2
-i love to have apps.
-i love the android logo thingy (just too cute)
-wanna be able to watch netflix on it..
-must have my precious youtube
-text friendly
-comes with pretty pictures and stuff kinda like my ipod
-durable
-able to connect to wifi..
-something like facetime would be nice too
-if anything goes wrong..easily fixable..
-don't want the phone to freeze on me mid-text
hm...i think that's all i can think of i would love to have with a phone..
maybe..
-customizable...?
-something that can help me attract a nerd/geek...(i have a nerd/geek fetish)
-also make geeks/nerds jealous..
-if it comes in purple/pink would be great..
erm...i have no idea as to which phone i want..but i'm not very techie..but love all the fancy techie stuff..especially the newest and latest stuff...and i like to have a phone that i can accessorize with (say..with a fancy case)..fit into my purse..and pocket..without taking up much space..
so..yea...any suggestions..?
=^__^=
I'm guessing your on T-mobile? Mytouch 4g slide seems like a good choice for you but I think the screen is smaller than the hd2. It has a keyboard and supposedly one of the best cameras.
