Hello...
I've cooked my latest Android ROM for my super HD2, but i've the same problem with market app (Vending.apk) since my first Android ROM.
The problem is that the market doesn't start for nothing! If tap on market icon, i see the white screen less of 1 second as if it want to start, but afterwards it close automatically!!!
I use "cyanogenmod_183" with "tytung_kernel_r12_beta"!!!
I've tryed to change build.prop in system folder with "Typhoon_build.prop" that have more specifics for HD2, but without positive results...
I've also tryed to overwrite root permissions with the kitchen (superuser + su) but nothing to do!
What i've forget to do? I need to activate specific setting for market?
Help me please! Thnx...
If you are usa send me a phone number and I will help!!
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA Premium App
I'm Italian... sorry... Thanx for the availability!!!
I need to know if there are any specific setting that needs to be enabled. The market don't have download problems or similar... in my ROM the market doesn't start for nothing!
What i can do?
To make the new market work do this:
1. Download the new market.
2. From root explorer change the cache permission to 777
3. Delete the vending.apk in system/apps
4. Paste the new market inside system/apps and rename it vending.apk
5. Reboot and enjoy.

Wonder if anyone has any ideas about how to fix this: I rooted my Kindle Fire, installed root explorer, everything's working fine. When i place GoogleServicesFramework.apk on my device and install I get a message that it won't install. I've tried placing the apk in the system/app folder, still no install. My ultimate goal is to get the Android Market working. I've been all over the threads in the developer's forum for the KFire ... no one has posted that they've not been able to install GoogleServicesFramework.apk. I must be missing something obvious ...
I'm having the same issue... even tried to "reset device" from the settings menu... but to no avail!
I am having the same issue!
You need to copy the file to /system/apps and change the permissions to 644.

How to change the permissions with ES Explorer??
I'm a complete noob at this. I see Root Explorer can change permissions but it is on the Android Market and I can't get to that until I get all of this installed

I got Root Explorer from Amazon App Store (not free) which I used to get the android Market APK copied to system/app and change permissions. Works great now.
The system is telling me I cannot move the file to /system/app becuase it is read only. When I try to make the directory writeable via root explorer, it does not work (will not perform the function after selecting it in the upper right corner).
I am getting really frustrated with this. I hate to ask but would someone PLEASE dumb this down for me. If possible please provide step by step commands of how to change this file permission. I visited the link and did not get it (feel like a retard right now). Not sure If I should be using ADB, RE or something else.
I have rooted 8 phones, flashed tons of ROMs and for some reason I can't accomplish this. I am about to throw this Kindle POS into the FIRE AAAARRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
I had the same problem, but I had already side loaded some other Google apps, so I did a full factory reset and it installed just fine. It was the first thing I loaded on it, just to be sure. I never had to play with permissions.
It does depend on what version you use though, and there are a few flying around. I used the one from here
Also really frustrated
I am having the same problem where I can't install googleservicesframework. I also can't change permissions because root explorer doesn't show up in the android market. THis shouldn't be that hard! Already spent 4 hrs messing with this today.

DId a full reset. Rerooted Kindle. Side-loaded Root Exporer and installed on Kindle. Changed permissions on system and on apps. Moved GoogleServicesFramework.apk to system/apps. Also changed permissions on the apk. Still won't install???
Update
Working now. I loaded a different GoogleServicesFramework.apk and it installed right away. Weird. All is good now!

Can you let me know which version and where did you get the googleservicesframework.apk that finally worked for you. I still keep getting the same irritating "application not installed" message. If I see it one more time I might do some serious damage to my KF
Why don't you push the market to your device using dos commands

What exactly happens when you use the factory reset button on the KF? Understand that you lose root but what about all the apps that you have installed from the market, are they still on the device or do they need to be reinstalled as well? May be trying this as I can't get some things to sync, or wait and do it after the next update.
Thanks.

i believe you lose everything in the /data folder, so yes that includes apps you installed from the market.

Problem fixed
Had this problem too but turns out I wasn't using the right framework apk. Download the one from the pcworld turorial! Google "install android market on kindle fire" and open up the tutorial, there's a link in the post to the google apps package!
The just tap it in root explorer and install!
How we know we can find in xda the new market 3.4.4, and if you want put it in your rom ICS you need to do this if you can't install it as a normal apk:
The first thing you need to have Root Explorer
Download / Put the market in the SGS in the folder Download
Now we go in system/app and move the file Vending.apk in sdcard (root explorer must be in Mount R/O)
We come back in data/dalvik-cache and look for the file [email protected]@[email protected] and put it in sdcard, too
Now take the new market that you have in the folder Download (rename in Vending.apk) and move it in system/app
Press for a few seconds the file vending.apk
Select the option Permissions
Select / check the 3 boxes Read and the box write / Owner, the other boxes must be uncheck
Turn off your SGS
Now turn on your SGS and you have your new market working
Actually, u can just install like a normal apk... -.-
Anyway, thanks for ur kindness...

Hi there, i am using the Redux2 HD2 rom. And it still uses the old android market. And i woul'd like to update that one. So i downloaded the latest marktet .apk and tried to install it. However it does not install it. It jus't gives me: "Application not installed' . I've tried resetting and stopping the market. I've tested other .apk's. And i still have the same problem
you can't just install it, you need to manually replace the market application.
just flash the REVERT-TO-NEW-MARKET-V2-CWM.zip in CWM or take MarketUpdater.apk and vending.apk and place them in the /system/app/ folder on your phone.
Hope I have been of help..

I want to post this thread to "[GUIDE] Install Full Android Market on Kindle Fire (Compilation Master Thread)"
Because I don't have enough post, so I can't post it in there.
This android market v3.4.4 solve 2 problem that I have before.
1. Market Force Close when I try to download apps.
2. Download problem: it stuck at 0% and never complete the download.
Hope this can help you guys that have the same problem like me.

This is what I do to remove my old market:
1. I use es file explorer to open system/app folder.
2. Long press vending.apk to delete it
3. Done.
This is what I do to install my new market:
1. Rename AndroidMarket_v3.4.4.apk to vending.apk
2. Using es file explorer, move vending.apk to system/app folder
3. Change vending.apk permission to rw-r--r--
4. Click vending.apk to install it
5. Done.
Hope this helps
Thanks
I finally found up to date version of the android market =)
KFU
U should just download kindle fire utility and one of the options downloads Android market for you
pretty easy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qis5I6Pp_jE&feature=channel_video_title
I don't have any problem with older version of android market, but having more recent version certainly helpful. using KFU is easy, but sometimes I wonder of each process and step involved (just in case I need to solve certain problem later)

man its auto updating to fu*ken play store pls help
i hope that s worx,i have searched many ours to help you,so try this 2-3 Methods, one of them must work,i think.
Method 1:
Installation:1. Download files below, do not rename them! Transfer to SD Card.
2.* Use any file explorer and mount system as RW and delete file name (Root Explorer works nicely)‘Vending.APK’ and ‘MarketUpdater.apk’ from /system/app/. You can also delete folders com.android.vending and com.android.vending.updater in /data/data.
*Do a reboot.
* Open File explorer/ Root Explorer and Mount your file system as RW and copy ‘updater.apk’ from SD Card to /system/app/ and do a reboot.
* Now, mount your file system as RW from explorer and copy ‘market.apk’ from SD Card to /system/app/ and Reboot phone.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Method 2:
delete all previous updates, the market updater and vending.apk
after this move the com.vending...2.3.6. with rootexplorer to system/app set permission on rw-r--r-- and reboot, when not working try to rename file in Vending.apk.
i hope i helped you:good:
