So we know sense 3.5 has been ported and is "out there". It's been proven to be problematic getting all the kinks ironed out...anyone care to elaborate or build upon what knowledge thus far?

I tried it yesterday, Wifi was not working, devs are working on it. Around 90mb free memory after install without sd partition. Will be better after partition.
Good news is has a fancy home screen and all. Looks very pretty. Very unique widgets for sms, mail etc.
I am waiting for the stable release.
3.5 was made so that older phones, like ours could run the newest version of sense smoothly. No matter what you do on any of the 3.0 roms, it doesnt run smoothly because its not optimized for our phones. 3.5 was made to run using less system resouces and because of that, runs way smoother on our phones compared to 3.0, plus it looks prettier too. With that being said, Wifi doesnt work, bluetooth doesnt work, MMS doesnt work, SMS splitting is broken using stock sms app (use handecent for better results). These things are due to the rom port itself, since the code came from a gsm phone, not a cdma phone like ours. Devs are working hard though.

Not as smooth as 3.5 does, I can assure you that.

Probably because half the OS isn't working yet. We'll see how it performs under full load when that happens.
I think its the best Rom I've run overall. There seems to be a slight memory optimization issue where a lag will occur occassionally but its negligible. I hope the momentum sticks.

This rom is great so far. I'm getting 180 mb of memory using beta 4 and landscape mode is working. .MMS, wifi is working as well. Plus the loudspeaker is incredible!

I have flashed this ROM and it is now my main one but how do you get landscape to work. I have the lastest version: beta v.FIVE
Edit: By landscape, I mean the home screen. I know in other apps landscape works, but they have a picture of the home screen in landscape. It seemed cool to have landscape on the home screen.
That's the dock app, not the homescreen

The first Bliss Rom I downloaded was beta v4. For some reason I was getting the phantom voicemail notification (you know that bug that happpened way back when EVO's upgraded to gingerbread). I wiped and reflashed but still got that diabolical notification. Today I wiped, and then flashed beta v6. STILL I get the phantom voicemal notification. Can anyone please tell me why this is happening??

Its not sense 3.5. Its mysense like the mytouch roms.
I am waiting for a CDMA phone to have this. It will eventually come out. But the devs working on this port will give them some experience with the code.

You have to backup your voicemail on a Rom u had it working on with titanium backup then install the same vvm.apk (same update number) on ur bliss ROM then restore voicemail with ttb

First off, thanks for your help. But yeah I did that before downloading beta v.4 and got that phantom voicemail notification as soon as the homescreen finished loading after setup. I thought maybe downloading the vvm.apk and restoring my data using Titanium would have fixed that but it didn't. I even't re-provisioned my voicemail by sending a blank voicemail to [email protected] still didn't fix it.
I wiped, wiped, wiped, and did a nandroid restore back to stock android 2.1. Then rebooted it to the stock android 2.1. Then shut it down and went into recovery (the latest Amon Ra). I wiped, wiped, wiped, wipe.zip, then flashed beta v.6. Rebooted and as soon as I was done with the setup, that damn phantom voicemail notification came up!!!
Anymore suggestions anyone?? Thanks in advance

Dunno how long it's been out for, just giving us non-senseUI (the only real way to use a Hero ) users a heads up that it's available.
Edit: oh yea, and for the sense users that don't check often..
If you update and it gives you ****ty (my bad), worse service or whatever go HERE and look at either the OP or the 2nd post for links to download older PRL versions.
Must be relatively new. Wiped back to factory and rerooted on Wednesday. Did all the updates 3 times to be sure and mine is still at 60671.

The comment about nonsense being theonly way to use ahero isn't true anymore. The new Sprint ruu that nfx modded is better than aosop. Cm and all the rest. I've tried them all. Runs faster.no fc. Better batterylife. And has all the sense goodies. No lag at all.

Mine runs plenty fast, no lag, no fc's ever. I'm running a custom compiled CM6.1 rom. Battery lasts longer than I need. More internal space as compared to sense for installing apps. LauncherPro's widgets look nicer and run smoother imo, I can set it to have only 2 homescreens without the extra bulk UI on the phone. Native a2sd. Slicker stock keyboard.
CM addons/settings are a plus too. Notification power control widget, lockscreen controls, UI color edits, etc.
umad?
But to be serious and all that; I'm partial to aosp mainly because I can compile it relatively easily and the android SDK is aosp. So it's practically all I've used for the past 8 (i think) months.
As you said - it's not particularly true anymore since there are senseUI roms that run extremely smooth and quick. It usually comes down to what exactly a person is looking for in a rom.
I still use lp over sense with the new ruu. But I ran cm and aosop for about a year. And I never went more than an hour without some kind of problem. That's why I was so happy that the new Sprint ruu runs so great. It even has aps2sd. And launcherpro adds some extras that you get from froyo. I honestly can't tell the difference. Not to mention my iheartradio would not work on cm or aosop. I'm so happy to have rovers morning glory back. I'm not mad. Lol. Just letting you know that there is a better Rom out there for heros than the cm6.

If you have been following Cyanogen on Twitter you will see that he is working on merging 2.3.3 into CM7. http://twitter.com/cyanogen/status/42355275310706688 Besides the NFC improvements( Which don't affect us) what do you guys think he is planning on adding?

Lol, ofcourse cyanogen is going to update cm7 to 2.3.3. Hes good at keeping current.
I just dont get why nfc doesnt apply to the slide. I dont think it needs special hardware

I am pretty sure it needs to have a certain Bluetooth frequency, which I know for sure the Nexus S has.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
After doing some reading, nfc is different from straight bluetooth. The frequencies are WAY different. So my guess is that out bluetooth radio wasnt built to operate out of the standard 2.4-2.5Ghz frequency.

Nightly 11 is 2.3.3!!!
one major i thing i heard that 2.3.3 was supposed to fix was the random reboots, i've gotten them before on my slide, and my dad's incredible does it sometimes. no reboots since i updated *crosses fingers*

Yes CM7RC2 is 2.3.3. Browser works normal for me. But GPS doesn't at all. Having issues with wifi too. It will only work after I reset the phone and even then will only work for about an hour or so before it will crap out completely.
Other then that its solid. No FCs at all. Great battery life and fast.

same with me also. wifi is alittle buggy right now. other then that it is great.
Ive been running cm7 for about 3 days now and have had no issues what so ever, Wifi issues were fixed for me by reflashing the radio, the only thing I wish it had was HTC sense.
I tried using GingerSense5122-Alphav2 and I love it... aside from the bugs including NO wifi yet... but once it is complete It will most likely be my ROM of choice..

Might be a noob issue, but every time I've flashed CM7, it won't boot. Just stays there on the Cyanogen boot screen forever. I clear my cache and all that before I install the ROM, but I have yet to get it to load CM7 RC2. I used CM6 just fine but this refuses to load. Any suggestions?

I don't know. To my knowledge I've never flashed a new radio. I did get CM7 to work last night however. I had to do a factory reset in addition to clearing the caches, and that made it boot correctly.
Okay, I'm creating this thread so that all users can post their experiences/bugs here because its annoying some of the devs when people post questions in the dev threads. So all you guys like me who need to ask questions or talk about this ROM please post here. I hope they will be kind enough here to answer everyones questions.
I flashed this ROM 3 days ago and I have to say im pretty goddamned impressed. A few words and questions.
First off, I love the stock look from 2.1. 6 Bars for signals, stock moto launcher. That has got to be the most important for me because everytime I flashed a froyo build the launcher would include just the app drawer and no dialer or message buttons like in stock 2.1. The haptic feedback is crisp and works in a few places. Like the dialer and 4 buttons below. The thing I love most about this ROM is is the built in moto LED notifications. I always missed that on the froyo builds and tried using apps like LEDme now and others but it just didnt cut it. The media button works. Its really fast and overclocked its a beauty. The only problem I found with the dialer was the number format and I dont know WHY that should be a problem for anyone. A cool thing I noticed with the dialer was you can block calls from inside the dialer. Love the stock appearance. Okay I dont know what issues you guys have with SMS. All I did was install keyboard for gingerbread longpressed the text input space and chose the input method. It replaced the stock keyboard and everything is fine. The SMS has nice solid black background compared to the grey in dexters and CB's which I assume saves battery. Also you have extra SMS options like pop ups. All apps work great and fast. Over clocked at 1000 mhz, 74 vsel it works as a charm. I use autokiller at moderate and never felt any lessening of RAM or slowing of the phone. About the APN settings yes I cant choose them but for some reason it picked up the settings itself and my data connection is active. I have an unlimited plan so its always on, for those who dont theres a power control app called switch pro you can turn off data along with another bunch of functions. Its basically an extended power control menu. It also has a nice UI. Camera works nicely and over all I just love the stock feel. I have had no signal problems its actually really good. WIFI signals are keeping well even though my router is far away and with froyo I used to get only 1 bar. Apps like Google+ work nicely.
Issues/Questions: I fastbooted into fjfalcons boot4.img. For some reason it became really slow and I had to reboot without it and now its fine. In set CPU half of my swap was active without even running any apps. I use 91 mb linux swap on my SD card like in reverends video from the old khal rom days. Besides that I want to ask about the super sleep mode button, what does it do? When do i activate it? How does it work? etc. By the way im using M7's patch with extended menu's. Umm besides that I tried installing root explorer but it already has its own korean RE, and I cant install root explorer on top because it says system app cant remove. Theres also another browser which in in korean but I just ignored that.
Besides that I have had no Issues with this ROM. Seems very solid and suitable for everyday use. I flashed directly from CB's froyo without reformatting my SD. All my apps were preserved and I had no issues booting this ROM up. I did loose the calvin bootloader img in the start which is now replaced by the official moto M and a sexy T logo after works. All in all I feel this is a keeper, after trying literally every ROM on this forum atleast 2 dozen times. Thats my review as a normal moderate user. I don't play many hardcore games and use my phone for calling, sms, browsing and photos.
Please post your opinions and experiences. And any bugs. Thanks!
How is it's speed compared to miui? does it beat miui?

It feels like an official update from moto
If the dialer and messaging were fixed (americanized), I bet cincy bell would backtrack and call this the official update, especially with a swype keyboard.
Sent from my XT720 using XDA App
Just curious, does swype really feels that great? Cos im using swiftkey and i feel that i type much better there :/
I'm not a huge fan of swype. My favorite keyboard actually is the stock gingerbread keyboard. I really fly with that one.

Yeah, well that's kind of the issue. Sometimes works well and types fast, other times it misses my words. Too many misses makes the gingerbread keyboard my default for speed and reliability.
But Swype also lets you type normally as well as swype to type.

I think the speed is comparable to miui, but its way more stable with very few reboots or any other problems. Could someone comment on the battery life? I'm getting a day with low use. I flashed from the CB Froyo does that make any difference if I don't flash 2.1 Korean first. Kernel issues?

Nice review! But how did you get LED-notifications to work? They don't work here w/o LEDmeknow.
Battery life here is somewhere between 2.1 stock and 2.2-ROMS on here.

It was in the display options. LED Notifications and periodic notifications just like in 2.1. After I selected them I got the flashing 4 bottom LED's which would stop after a few seconds and restart every 4-5 minutes.
My battery life for me sucked bad even after calibration, so I flashed stock 2.1 signapore sbf to see if that changes anything. I heard there are kernel issues if you dont go back to stock. Also memory leaks.

Just a small update. I was getting really crappy battery life, so I decided to flash the stock singapore SBF and then reflash WanHu's ROM. I took it right from scratch. Root with Universal android root which is so much easier than superoneclick. I tried superoneclick though and it didnt work, maybe because i was trying to do it under MONO in linux. After that I applied the Mioz Patch!
Okay here's where the weirdness starts. First all you guys must remember that annoying ugly korean keyboard and the weird gestures keyboard in the sms, well after the sbf flash my ROM has kept its old android 2.1 keyboard WITH the original haptic feedback. This wasnt there when I flashed directly from the CB froyo. Also Im getting haptic feedback on long touch in the homescreen along with the 4 LED buttons.
Hope this helps. Im going to do some more exploring!
EDIT: Okay so the keyboard is FC on me. It was fine when I was putting in my google info

went from leaked gingerbread back to syndicate 1.1.0 and now the autorotate doesn't work, only when i open the keyboard. I did all the fixes, it still doesn't work, any idea how to fix it. this is fullyloaded touchwiz and its on.
I wiped data and everything, still doesn't work.
Try this
Did you calibrate the accelerometer first? That might fix it. Mine get kinda wonky after reflashing and especially after using Odin.
i did the calib_yamaha, I calibrated the sensor, nothing did anything, I flashed the gb leak again and it works fine, I flash back to sf 1.1.0 and it doesn't work, so now I'm stuck on the gb leak which is a problem because the phone barely works and keeps dropping calls so I really need to get back to froyo.

Are you referring to rotating the home screen, or any and all apps? I might be mistaken, but I don't think TouchWiz rotates the home screen, at least not without sliding out the keyboard...
Also, I would recommend upgrading to SRF 1.2, it's even better than 1.1

so why would 1.20 be any different that 1.1.0? I actually tried to get 1.20 last night, but the website kept coming up that it could not be found.

Well, because 1.2 *is* different than 1.1 - hence the change in version numbers...
Why would you expect the two to be exactly the same? Kind of a silly question
A better question would be, "WHAT is different between the two, that would cause the auto rotate problem in 1.1?"
I don't know that answer, though... I think it may have been tied to the fully loaded version, because I remember experiencing it only once - when I briefly tried fully loaded, before going back to standard

Well, because 1.2 *is* different than 1.1 - hence the change in version numbers...
Why would you expect the two to be exactly the same? Kind of a silly question

why would they be any diferent for rotation?

Ok let me clarify my post. Running SR v1.1.1, rotate worked fine. Flashed Revoltion rom, didn't like it, few things didn't work like autorotate.
So I flashed another rom which fixed it, chose SR 1.2 to give it a try. If I flashed v1.1.1 that may have worked also.
so can we get back to the issue, i've tried 1.1.1 and the autorotate doesn't work. it appears to be a froyo issue as it worked fine for months and months and now only gingerbread roms will rotate. could that be because i'm using eh17 modem? i wouldn't think so.

Well, one or many of the changes between 1.1 and 1.2 might have affected rotation as a side effect - whatever caused the glitch in 1.1 must have been changed for a completely unrelated reason, and the glitch disappeared...
I think, from what you've reported, that it had something to do with the extras in the fully loaded version - that used a hacked TW, right? 1.2 doesn't have a fully loaded package that I'm aware of... But try the standard version, or just use the most recent version since it *is* better

It does nut appear to be a froyo issue, because 1.2 is froyo without the issue... In fact, so far the only froyo that appears to have this issue is the fully loaded version of 1.1... Several examples of froyo without the issue vs one with the issue would indicate that froyo is not the problem at all...
Unless I missed the part where you duplicated the issue on several other froyo roms - all I've seen mentioned is SRF 1.1 fully loaded... Have you seen the problem on 1.1 standard edition?
But you are correct about the modem having nothing to do with it

well you could be right, but i've been using the 1.1 for months and months, longer than any other rom and havent had a problem, and I've run many other roms, never had a problem. only time i've ever seen something like this is since running gingerbread leaks, now they work and the old one doesn't, I've flashed that same rom probably 10 times, never had a problem, gone from bonsai to that one and back again, never a problem so I would doubt the rom would have anything to do with it. I'll try the 1.2 if I can get it downloaded. last night the page wasn't coming up.

settings>display>horizontal calibration> place the phone screen upside down on a ledge but with a bit sticking out so you can touch it (like a dresser or desk or counter etc..>calibrate
its sounds strange but it worked for me
Thanks but I did that still didn't work
Perhaps a full odin back to stock froyo, then reinstall everything from there...
I'm wondering if gingerbread updated something that froyo relied on for sensor data (this is a long shot, falling under the category of "I don't see how they're related, but why not?")
Otherwise, it *almost* sounds like a hardware issue - except that you said it works fine on gingerbread... well, unless GB is using a different sensor reading...

i've only run gb for like 2 weeks, was working fine on froyo, can't understand it. I did download srf 1.2 last night as the site would come up now. so i might play with that this weekend, although the GB is working now and making phone calls without dropping so aside from random reboots its working. kinda makes it hard to sell the thing eventually though if it won't rotate.
well I put on the srf 1.2, autorotate works fine, im perplexed as to why that is since autorotate worked fine for the 6+ months that I ran it and i've never had autorotate stop working on any of the 3 epics i've had and any of the roms. but at least its working now and i have a stable phone.
So tried to add this to the alpha 5 topic, but I do not have 10 posts yet.
I flashed from MIKG 3.0 to alpha 5 on Friday with no issues. I ran the fix for the google calendar and was happy with the overall setup. I added the COD tweaks and was impressed with the speed/smoothness of the system. Camera worked out of the box and didn't have any real issues until tonight.
Phone randomly restarted, no big deal. but then I noticed that i had degraded signal. did the *18 call with no change. I had to send a few texts and they all hung and finally failed. restarted phone and same issue occurred.
With the ROM still being a WIP I was not upset, it just isnt a daily driver yet, close though.
next issue was when i restored from nandroid. I hung at the boot screen for ever. Pulled battery and did full wipe and tried again to no avail. I was getting worried at this point. I did have an earlier nan backup of MIKG and that one worked.
Oh and much to my kids dismay angry birds would not load.
Not really looking for any help just trying to get my posts in.
Thanks!

nice info ive been trying to find out how the ics roms are going cuz i havent had time to flash myself. but in regards to your nandroid restore not working. what recovery are you using? (you should use amon-ra 2.3 if you aren't already) and also the mikg restores take a while to load because sense 3.0 is huge, if it doesn't load in about 2-3 minutes then just pull the battery and start it up (don't wipe) and it should boot right up in a reasonable time. it happens occasionally. and welcome to xda saw you had one post so i figured i would welcome you
I have flashed multiple versions of MIKG all wit CWM, it was up in the 7-10 min boot loop time. the kick stand was getting warm. I started with the batt at 90% and when I was finally back up it was at 20%.
I as well can't post. I came from cm7. I used from manager to back up cm7 then install alpha5. Worked fine for me. Using cwm instead of ra though. Not sure if that makes any difference.

I would try to flash with ra. The rom is working great for me as a daily.
Only issue I had with Deck's ICS was no GPS for Navigation.
You may have to do the GPS fix by going into sense rom

I have tried it with no success. Guess my phone just hates GPS It happens with every other ROM I flash. I keep the GPS fix file on my SD card, GPS status/toolbox app, and a fresh sense ROM at hand just in case.

Yeah there's something always wrong with CWM I have used amon-ra since February and have had no problems with it. Also as a sidenote with amon my mikg back up with 300mb of apps took all of 5 minutes to back up and like 8% battery. If your backup drained 70% of your battery there is definately something wrong haha

Glad you posted this here.
I don't have enough posts either. I like the ROM but i had a few random reboots too. I flashed from Team Nocturnal stock RLS.5. I also use CWM for Nandroid. I was getting around in ICS well but had a few hangups. Calandar was the biggest issue, but I think I remember that being mentioned, so no biggie. The only major issue I cared about and I don't know if this has been any one else's problem, but my benchmark was significantly lower on this ROM. 805 on quadrant. Just wanted to post if anyone is reading. That would explain why it was a little jerky.
almost there!! lol
ics was really fun to play with. have u tried swapping to nova launcher? it seemed to free the rom up a bit and make it much more tolerable. I do like trebuchet because it seems to look better imo.
my gps seemed to work fine after i flashed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15760767&postcount=30 it did cut out eventually but that was after a flash to a 3.0 rom ( not to do the gps fix btw) and nandroiding back sooooo i dunno could have been something got fubared in there
there was a calendar fix somewhere in the 400 page post. you had to flash a specific gapps and calendar fix.
Flashed Decks a5 the day it was released. Loved it. I'm still running CWM and haven't had any issues. I did install the GPS drivers listed in a GPS fix post and use Waze for navigation. Quick lock and solid. Gmail sync and calendar sync worked as well, using Jorte as my calendar. I used the file titled ICSGoogleApps12-16. My only issues were the jerky video and most games I played wouldn't load.
Amazing work, I tried all the other ICS rom's and I had less issues and smoother operations with Deck's.
Great talent. I have no complaints cause I know it is all a work on progress. I can't believe my old EVO is running ICS before my buddy who just got a new phone...... priceless! !!!!!

After flashing any new ROM or ROM update I always flash the latest GPS Fix from here ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132412
... and the latest Radio Combo from here ...

It always fixes GPS lock for me (CM7 nightlies, ICS Evervolv, Deck ICS). Always Nandroid backup of course. I don't use Sense ROM's so YMMV.

Similar experience as well.
I'm using the Google Calender sync and don't seem to be having any problems with it. Haven't tried that GPS fix though, gunna try that tonight.
I've noticed as looking through the official thread it seems many people have a problem with the trebuchet (sp) launcher on page 7 of the widgets. I'm having no issues. Anyone else like this?

I had an issue with the stock launcher on page 7 of the widgets. I just switched to Nova Launcher and have had not problems, in fact I personally like it better.
I've also been using this rom lately. Although it has some features broken, its still very very usable. Makes me realize how much I don't use "premium" features.

Also, this from us very snappy and smooth. But when I do quadrant benchmarks, it gets a score of about 945, which is lower than stock evo and lower than my 1500 scoring miui rom, but it feels faster nonetheless. Is this a product of the hardware acceleration?

Disregard what I said. I'm actually using drew's. So many ics roms out there.

So I've been running decks for awhile now, no problems. Only thing is I get a random freeze and reboot about once a day or so. Anyone else having that issue?
