Mango installation Made easy - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

I have finally gotten Mango 7720 installed on my HD2 after 2days of trying, I was continuously getting sim card errors; plus the software encrypted my card so now nothing can read it. I installed Mango 7720 but only used Zune to update once. Here is how I did it, it’s very simple just follow these steps.
You must have these software programs to START:
(Radio 2.15.50...) installed, Magldr1.13, Zune Downloaded and Install the latest version, : HD2-7720fix Extract to a Folder and extract WP7 Update Cab Sender to another folder: Download Mango 7720 actual CAB Files: the V2 ROM HD2_Updatable_XBmod_Yuki_v2_native Extract to a folder DeviceProvisioning.cab
Okay here goes the most important Parts… to prevent Sim Card Error do not use a sim card when installing V2 ROM HD2_Updatable_XBmod_Yuki_v2_. Do not use NO sim card when updating until update 7392. After the phone boots up with update 7392 installed. Put in sim card and go to setting and in setting go to about phone and reset phone. The phone will even use your locked sim card for this point. After phone restart with sim card continue to update to the next update which is 7392-7403 and 7403 has finished installing please do this next ---- Download this package HD2-7720fix.rar. If needed install updateWP from the folder "update tool". (Choose the version you need between x86 or x64) Download and decompress WP7 Update Cab Sender.zip in a folder, it will be your tool to send all custom packages, backup and restore. Download DeviceProvisioning.cab and put it in this folder. Launch WP7 Update Cab Sender.bat and choose S to send this package to device- The device will apply this update after this process. If you get an installation error, that’s fine take out battery and restart phone. Once your phone restarts, plug it into your computer to use Zune to for this one and only update using Zune. This update is a major one and it will take about 2 hours so be patient!!!! Your phone will work flawlessly after this update. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTION BELOW
1. of course, u need magldr installed 2. enable to use last 24 mb of nand from magldr
3. clear sdmbr from magldr menu 4. flash v2 rom from yuki/xbmod thread
note: if u have any other wp7 already installed, dont bother goin back to stock. just flash v2 over it.
5. download the "official update cab" from post 3 (bottom) of the yuki/xbmod thread and extract in a folder
note: in the procedure that i followed, i didn't need 2 of the rar files in the zip. these are: 7392-7401.rar and 7661-7720.zip.
6. download "WP7 Update Cab Sender.zip" from post from post 3 (bottom) of the yuki/xbmod thread and extract in another folder.
note: if u use xp then probably u need to download "wp7_cabsender_winxpfix.zip" and extract the contents in the extracted "WP7 Update Cab Sender"
7. download "HD2-7720fix.rar", extract in a seperate folder. install update tool form that folder (version that matches u'r os - x64/x86).
phase 2: the fun part (actual update)
note 1: the basic is that in every step that follows, u put the extracted cabs from a particular update rar file (or zip in 1 case) in the "WP7 Update Cab Sender" folder, send the cabs to the device, when done (u'll know when) delete the cabs from this folder. continue in this way untill all updates are done. u can find all update files in the "official cab updates" folder.
note 2: although u have the updates downloaded, the update procedure requires net connection just to start the procedure. actually nothing is downloaded. i guess it just routin checks if pc is connected to the internet since that's the standard procedure.
note 3: u should set date/time settings to auto.
1. extract the cab from 7008.rar file into the "WP7 Update Cab Sender" folder. run the bat file (WP7 Update Cab Sender.bat) in the folder. press "s" to send it to the device. it will prepare the update, restart phone, install update, restart phone and tell u that the update has been done. if error occurs it will let u know about it after restart.
2. following step 1, install all updates till those from the 7403.rar (install all cabs in the update folder, there r multiple cabs). follow the order of updates. but remember, DONT use 7392-7401.rar.
note: no need to restart/reset or even disconnect the phone after an update is complete. just move on to the next update. just make sure the date in the calendar tile is displayed right. if not adjust the date.
3. installed 7403 update and booted successfully?? congrats. now

tks for the NO SIM tip!

I must say, the easiest way was to go All-in-one - everything is pretty much done with minimal input from you in one easy step. It takes an hour, but I had absolutely no hassle of any kind and no SIM problems whatsoever.
Magldr - enable the last 24Mb, remove mbr, install V2 and send all your cabs from all-in-one package - done!

What do you mean by all in one?
I'm on Green Mango and get no DATA.
I'll try this if you can tell me about the All in One option,.
Thank you

[Tutorial] - How to install any firmware using Windows Device Recovery Tool

It worked for me, it might work for you. Do it at your own risk.
Windows Device Recovery Tool (WDRT) will download and install only the latest version of the software available for your device.
This tutorial will show you how to use WDRT to install ANY firmware version you want on your windows phone device.
That is, you can upgrade or downgrade. For example, go from wp 10 to wp 8.0, or from wp 8.1 to wp 8.0, or whatever you want.
Here is how to use Windows Device Recovery Tool to install any firmware released for your model:
I try to ilustrate the process in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnLQ_u4kF7E
STEPS:
0) Download the firmware you want to install (only the .ffu file)
1) Let WDRT downloads the last firmware version for your model (that's what it does). When the download is completed, close the program before the installation starts. You don't have to have the last firmware version installed on your phone, but you have to have it on the WDRT folder.
2) Go to the location where WDRT stores the files: c:/programdata/microsoft/packages/products/
3) Duplicate the folder "RM-xxx" (your model) containing the files WDRT downloaded. You'll have two folders with the same content, like "RM-xxx" and "ARM-xxx", for example.
4) Go back to the place where the .ffu file you want to install is and copy it.
5) Enter the "ARM-xxx" folder and paste the .ffu file.
5) Now you have two .ffu files in "ARM-xxx" folder. Copy the name of the original .ffu file that was already there before you paste the other .ffu file and delete it (the original one).
6) Rename the .ffu file you've just pasted with the name you just copied.
5) Open WDRT, select your phone, and click install/reinstall. After the program checks the compatibility of the files, the message "switching the phone to flashing mode" will apear, as soon as it happens, go back to the "Products" folder and rename the folder "RM-xxx" to something else, like "RM-xxxA, and rename the folder "ARM-xxx" to "RM-xxx". This has to be done quickly, before the installation starts.
6) If everything is OK, the installation will start and you'll have your firmware installed.
With this method i finally got my lumia 620 working again, after the touch screen stopped working due to an accidentally upgrade. I couldn't use any other method because both my lumia volume buttons are broken, so the flashing process needed to be automatic.
If you have rm-1073 att lumia 640 it will not work because of the cid checks within the flashing. Otherwise any other one should work fine
cannot pass the checks

Can someone pass me their kies update from g930A

Instructions here
1. Make sure your phone is plugged in...
2. Open this folder: OS C: / Users / Your name / AppData / Local / Temp
3. Your user profile’s temporary folder will open. Keep it opened, as we’re going to need to copy a file from this location in a little while.
4. Launch Kies and wait for the phone to connect.
5. You’ll see an offer to upgrade firmware of your phone – click on the firmware upgrade button. If no Upgrade click on Tool's / Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation or Firmware Upgrade setting's.
6. A few windows will pop up with questions about backup, etc – answer the questions, making sure to do a backup, and let it proceed. A window will pop up saying “preparing files”, and then a window will pop up again, showing the download progress.
7 Pay attention to the download progress. When it reaches 100%, your phone will enter “Downloading Mode” and begin flashing. YOU MUST FOLLOW THE NEXT STEP AS SOON AS THE FLASH STARTS.
8. During the flash procedure, go to your Temporary folder and refresh its contents. You will see a file called tmpXXXX.tmp (the XXXX’s will be random numbers). This .tmp file is the encrypted ROM archive – ignore it, and look for a new folder created with a similar name (or else sort by date and find the newest folder), and open that instead. Inside you will see a .tmp / .zip file. Right-click on that file, choose copy and paste it to desktop Don’t try to move the file (using “cut”, or dragging the icon to your desktop) – just copy & paste.
9. Your phone should complete the flash successfully.
You need to copy the firmware file from your temporary folder within the period that your phone is being flashed, as it gets deleted immediately after flashing is complete. I would estimate that you have around 2 – 3 minutes to complete step 8. so you just need to be paying attention when the flash begins.
I'll be doing this tomorrow.
I'll be here

Android 7.0 on P9 lite

I found a site with a tutorial on how to install Android 7.0 on P9 lite.On version VNS-L31C636B361 there are 3 files, and acording to them, you need to follow these steps:
Extract the contents of the zip files you downloaded from above.
Create a folder named “dload” in the root directory of your device’s SDcard.
Copy all the extracted contents of the zips into the dload folder.
Open the dialer app and dial *#*# 2846579#*# *
Select Project Menu > Software upgrade > SDcard upgrade > confirm the installation.
The firmware will begin installing and once that is done your device will reboot automatically.
But the problem is, if I extract all the contents from all 3 files, some of them have the same name and overwrite, and when I try to install by *#*# 2846579#*# *, it stops after 5% and gives me fail error.
What is the correct way to install and why are there 3 separate files ? (also, do I need to have some settings ? the phone should be connected to PC while installing ? )
Thank you very much!
What model you have?
Seems you have another oeminfo...
i have the same problem, it runs now on version vns-l31c432b161, if a want to install android 7 i get the same message as above

EDIT: i tried again and it stucks on 5%, doesnt say anything.
Good to know!
If you are in MM 6.0 you can not go to Nougat 7.0 without some preparation until Huawei release official version.
I you are already in Nougat 7.0 (B3xx) you can go to B360-B361, directly with Sdcard upgrade or with three keys pressed method.
U dint answer my question though.Let me be more clear.
Here is a tutorial on how to install Android 7.0 on P9 Lite: http://www.droidviews.com/update-huawei-p9-lite-manually-official-android-7-0-nougat-emui-5-0/
On my model, there are 3 files:
4. VNS-L31C636B361
update.zip
update_data_full_VNS-L31_B360_hw_meafnaf.zip
update_data_full_VNS-L31_B361_hw_meafnaf.zip
and they say
Extract the contents of the zip files you downloaded from above.
Create a folder named “dload” in the root directory of your device’s SDcard.
Copy all the extracted contents of the zips into the dload folder.
But some of the files from these 3 .zips have the same name, and when I copy them in the same folder, they overwrite.
Is that tutorial sh1t ?

Upgrading P8 from B118

Hi guys, so I am relatively new to customising your phone and was wondering if someone could explain whether it is possible to upgrade from my current version (GRA-L09V100R001C900B118), as when I use the phone to check for any updates it says there are none available.
I have read that I need to upgrade first to B200 and then can upgrade to Marshmallow, is this correct?
Cheers!
Yes, it should be possible to manually update.
If your phone is network-branded, you'll need to debrand first, so carefully follow the steps in this thread: Clean debranding P8 (GRA-L09). Then follow the steps below from B200 onwards.
-------------------------
If your phone is not network-branded, follow this guide instead:
Ensure you phone has at least 50% battery power remaining. A separate microSD card (formatted to FAT32 with at least 4Gb capacity) & PC/laptop/similar system is also preferred. Plus, if necessary, do a thorough prior backup of your texts, messages, photos, music, etc as applicable (if unsure, backup anyway).
First you need to install B170 (Lollipop, EU version) - direct full download from here to your computer: http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=49884&version=118243
From the above downloaded file, extract the 'dload' folder (contains a single, large file called UPDATE.APP - leave as it is), connect phone to computer with the USB charging cable & copy this dload folder to your inserted microSD card (you may need to enable 'Developer options' & 'USB debugging' to be able to do this - follow this guide if necessary). Once completely copied over, disconnect phone from your computer, then select: Settings > Update > Local update. Once the updating process starts, do not interrupt or shut-off or manually reboot the phone.
After the above is completed, & your phone automatically reboots, verify it has been installed by visiting Settings > About phone > Build number.
Reconnect phone & delete the UPDATE.APP file from the SDcard/dload folder, but let the empty dload folder itself remain.
Next download & install B200 (Lollipop, EU version) - direct full download: http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=68483&version=238533
After extracting, copy the UPDATE.APP file only to the phone's SDcard/dload folder. Then repeat ALL the steps above from disconnecting the phone to letting the empty dload folder itself remain.
After installing B200, you could be offered a Marshmallow update (B382/B390 or above) directly via OTA - in other words, check via Settings > Update > Check for updates.
If not, download & manually install B397 (Marshmallow, EU version) (main thread for reference here).
Direct full download: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G985/g104/v85383/f1/full/update.zip
After extracting & copying the UPDATE.APP file only to the phone's SDcard/dload folder & disconnecting the phone, using the phone's dialler, type *#*#2846579#*#* to access the Project Menu., then select 4. Software Upgrade > 1. SDCard Upgrade
Once complete, your P8 GRA-L09 should now have the very latest European Marshmallow firmware version. All future updates need to be done with the 'dialler' method as mentioned in the last update procedure. Remember to delete/replace the previous UPDATE.APP file with its newer version each time & disconnect the phone before running the update procedure. Also, only download & use the 'full' update files (not the smaller OTA ones).
