Hi guys,
I have a Xperia X8 on which I installed kuyadroid v3.2.175.
All worked fine until I tried to reinstall busybox. I made a mistake and removed /system/bin/busybox, another busybox is installed under xbin.
when rebooted the phone freezed at the 'sony ericsson' logo.
It seems there's non way to access xrecovery.
There's any way to have my phone back?
Please help!!

use pc companion to repair your phone and then root again. there's loads of info on this site and some step by step guides too. search for the thread "How to rescue our bricked x8" for all info, hope you get it sorted.
Thank you so much!!
You saved me.
I'll check immediately the thread you said.

Fantastic!
All worked! I reinstalled xRecovery and restored system from last backup.

So yesterday I decided I was going to play around with the different roms like I do my phone w/ my tablet.. Bad idea. The same usual steps to backing up and restoring are supposed to be the same. maybe not so much.
I decided to try out the new Revolution theme by thor, so i made a backup of where i was at before the wipe and subsequent install. Install went on without any issue, I played with it for a while, decided I wanted to go back to my latest backup. Performed the restore and went to bed.
When I went back to the tablet it had successfully rebooted with all my prior settings in place. Except one thing. Superuser wont work, and I cant download the updater fix in the market. So my rooted device is now unrooted with Taboony 2.1b rom. None of the apps we are all accustomed to using will work without superuser working.
Has anyone experienced this, is there a fix I just havent seen? I have searched and searched and searched. Well versed in google

I just finished getting my tab back in shape after much the same thing. What worked for me was to get into cwm, then clear cache and delvic cache. Re-installed the rom (ezterry's rooted stock in my case) and I am good to go. I did not clear data. Hope that this helps.

With reflash of rom you will have root again, but do a full backup of your rom using cwm and then restore your backup and you will once again be left without root.
The fix I got was, i got into cwm and flashed the new mix rom and viola, everything works as it should lol

There have been issues with SU in Taboonay. Happens after a backup / restore. I had the same thing.
For a more complete solution check the thread on Taboonay / DEV in the forum, but the short answerthat worked for me with Taboonay is : uninstall SetCPU, Reflash 2.1, reboot, reflash 2.1b. this worked for me...
Good luck!

Now do a full backup using cwm.
Now do a full restore using cwm.
Now No root, just try it.

I simply can't figure this out. I have an A500 that I have rooted successfully back a few months ago and installed HoneyVillain 1.04 ROM. It has worked flawlessly for months. Now I can't get root access with Titanium BU, BusyBox, Root Explorer or anything! I've tried re-rooting it using GingerBreak 1.2 with no success. I can access a backup that I made right after I rooted a few months ago, but that doesn't bring back root either. Can someone please tell me what to do before I make a 10.1" frisbee out of this thing. The tab's batery has been allowed to go completely dead once, but I don't think that would be the problem. I'd like to install the latest version of HoneyVillain if I can get root back. I sincerely appreciate anyone's help.
Sounds weird. You hadn't flashed anything else had you or installed a system update?
What's your kernel version & build number?
Have you tried using IconiaRoot?

Did you by chance do a restore using cwm..? Every time I did a full restore I would loose root.
I haven't flashed anything and no system update. I'm about to try IconiaRoot 1.3. Still looking for the answer...I'll report back. Thanks!
I tried Iconia Root. It goes through the steps and says Done...Have Fun! Then a message says Iconia Root has been denied root privileges. I tried to unroot and it says something went wrong and I'm still rooted. I must be somewhere between rooted and unrooted! What now????

Well, you're right - it did work. I didn't even have to root again. Everything is back after the reflash of the ROM. Now tell me the full story. I'm wanting (I think) to try the latest HoneyVillain ROM.
By the way, thank you VERY much for you help.

You must not have wiped anything...? (Not that that is bad just more tech info for me), still learning.
Anyway, I have used honey vill and taboonay many version and with different kernals and love both roms.
What happans to me is I use cwm after I get the tab set the way I want and then do a full backup using cwm. Then I always want to fire test my backups so I immediately do a full restore using cwm, soon after I start getting denials from super user..? And after checking using a app from the market to check root, I have now lost root and can't get back, same as you.
I now just reflash the rom and if I do full wipe I reroot and all is well.
So I went with a different rom, backup and immediately do full restore and now no root again.
It happaned with every rom I have tried. Someone told me to delete the android.secure.image folder from the backup set that cwm makes. I tried that and that did let the restore, restore the flex rom folder but had the same problem. I have two a500 and both do this. I don' t know if stock rooted will do this as I have not tried yet. So what good is a full backup if it fudges your system. Maybe someone has a answer, but I have not found one. Sorry if this ain't your problem at all, but might be related. Later

That's amazing. I want to move up to the new HoneyVillain, so I guess I can count on rooting again? Wow. I love my Iconia though. I just remembered that I recently had trouble with WIFI so I DID do a restore via CWM. I guess I just realized that things weren't rooted! Oh well, you have provided some much needed info for me. At least now, I will know what to expect. Thanks again. Have a blessed evening.
I also had the wifi problem, and that is what started the whole thing with the full restore. Have a good one.
The same thing happened to me. I just installed another ROM to fix it.
Kinda ridiculous though. At least we know how to deal with it.
Thanks for this thread -- confirmed my sanity when I lost root after a CWM restore. Does anyone know if the updated version (1.6) of CWM for the A500 fixed this problem?
Hey guys.
my phone : E15i , baseband xx015, 2.1.1.A.0.6, rooted, xrecovery 1.1, tried out some custom roms by racht, works perfectly, currently using stock rom.
before rooting, papago! (gps app) works on my phone perfectly,
now, satellite search doesnt work, cannot locate my position, cannot navigate,
so i used xrecovery and did factory reset, format system, wipe cache, (idk what they do, i thought it is just clearing all stuffs in my phone)
now, the phone just stucks at "Sony Ericsson", is it bricked? solutions?
You should not Do "FORMAT SYSTEM".
Now you lost your firmware/Rom from your Phone. So its soft bricked.
Solution: Use PC Companion And open support Zone and repair software.
Or seus you can instal some other Rom,just transfer to you sd card(mount on xrecovery)

H all,
I love flashing new roms, but unfortunately my remote login apk for connecting to work doesn't.
Whenever I flash a new rom, the apk says device not recognised and I have to go back to stock and all is good. The only rom I don't have this issue with is the XXX rom.
I have tried everything I can think of with Titanium Backup but to no avail.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Do you use Cisco any connect or what app did you mean? Have you tried safetynet fix for magisk and hide root?
Hi, thanks for reply. It's swivel authcontrol mobile apk. Yep, tried all you've mentioned, but no use. Every other apk works fine, but this one will not cooperate.
Still needing help here please.

If there's nobody that using that particular app and oneplus 5, you won't find help here.
Maybe you can and in general Q&A section https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
Ok, i found out how to sort it. Restoring both the apk and data will not work. What I had to do was install the apk from the store and through TB go to my nandroid backup and restore the data only for that apk and it works perfectly.
Hi guys, so here it goes.
My phone just pulsing SAMSUNG.
I can get in to TWRP when booting the phone.
(i had a problem with Wifi tether router) i tryed numerous things to get it working again as everytime i tryed the app after 2mins it was restarting the phone. after back and forth replies with the author i decided to uninstalled SuperSU# then i realised ( why did i do that ) .
So i went to the playstore to redownload it , it was £2.99 or something for the PRO version so to save looking for other the stuff i just purchased that. - but i still had to find the free version of it which i did. and installed it (EVERYTHING was working ok )
Then it said something install this binary normal or TWRP so i clicked normal and it said requires a reboot. then my phone was just in a pulsing state forever.
so i loaded up TWRP and just factory reset and it still never done nothing. -
Where do i go from here do i try to install a rom or something am stuck. -( last time i followed tutorial that was in march and it all worked fine until i uninstalled that today ) can you point me in the right direction Thanks guys.

Restore your backup from twrp
I went ahead and followed this guys
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/rom-galaxy-s8-t3749171
Information and it got me back into a working state.
I checked in TWRP and it never had a backup.
Other than that i now need to install SuperSU# again to gain root access.
Just going to browse through ways of doing it now. If you not busy and you know where to look can you link it for me. Thanks.

Flash magisk, it's so much better than supersu and has loads of modules to try also. Just my opinion though
I am glad you said that because i was looking for a SuperSu zip and it seems to be out dated.
