Today I removed my zagg full invinsible shield because it didn't fit ok so I got new one and I decided to perform a thought I had for long time....remove samsung logo!so I did it with pencil rubber and thats the result...what do you think??I love it
Samsung did good job on this one, and deserves the recognition...
That's my opinion.
OMG I'm doing that asap! So you just used a pencil eraser, did it leave and marks/scratches?

I'm definitely doing it...I had this idea of removing the logo for weeks but haven't put it in practice.
turned out a simple way to do that ^_^
i personally would just remove everything altogether. not to discredit the 2 companies for the fine work theyve done, but all black no logos just looks sexy. besides, you've credited the companies already by buying their products.
I covered with sellotape the area around samsung logo then i rubbed it with a rubber with a red part and blue part, mainly with the blue part(harder) and then cleaning it with cotton.I had no scrathches but the part of the plastic with the logo was looking a little blurry at first from some angle, clean again with cotton and rubbing alcohol and it will reduce it.Today with the invinsible shield looks nice and shiny!
I do some modelling and would normally use a sand paper after I stick 2 plastic parts together (400, 800, 1000, 2000, 3000) and will finish it with a polishing compound.
for budget or practicality I use this
just make sure you use number 4 to make it shining.
I have a black soft case on my phone. Looks great and I don't have to rub any logos off. /shrug
nice mod
Thanks , very nice. I will test

Gentleman,
If you're like me, you worry about protecting your camera lens.
I've got a fix for you.
It's cheap, it does not alter image quality, it works on 99% of all phones and case materials.
What you need:
No residue painters masking tape (3/4")
I cut a piece about 3" long, fold a tiny tab to make folding it back easier, and position it horizontally over the lens and across to the side of the phone/case.
Whenever I want to take a picture I peel it back, capture the photo, and fold it back over. I've included some photos to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
come on man
Protip? Not quite.

Comrade,
Why would you say such a thing? I think you're jelous you did'nt come up with this innovation!
On a more serious note, I thought there would be some (appreciative) individuals out there who would benefit from this "Protip".
Maybe you would have liked it more had I incorporated crayons or a Goosebumps novel.
Thanks. I would definitely use it to save my camera lens from scratches

Well the politically correct term would be "urban", not ghetto, but I agree.
The only part of this super cool professional tip I don't care for is the lackluster color selection of paint making tapes.

Hi Pinkthesink
My humble request to you is to ignore these non believers. Your innovation is highly regarded and much appreciated in the technology world.
You have single handedly changed the way people will protect their assets.
Infact i would extend your idea to covering my whole phone with sticky tape and removing when i require to use the phone.
Better still, i would also cover myself up with sticky tape to be protected against harsh weather conditions.

Will post some pictures later on showing my phone in the box and also out the box in case anyone is unsure about how my idea works!

I went a step further than you and as well as returning the phone to the box I have slipped the plastic cover back on and added OP's sticky tape idea to the outside of the box just in case the box was to accidently fly open and device went flying out.
Bwahahahahahaha, what's next? How to: cellophane sticky tape screen protector, on a budget, hint don't buy the expensive 3M stuff get the no name brand. lol
Real protip: glue a piece of thin clear plastic on the outside/inside of a case. Simple, easy.
Lmao hilarious thread.

On a serious note, i would suggest purchasing a cheap iPhone or iPad screen protector and push out the round circle from the protector for the iphone/ipad home button and use that.

Comrades,
All I wanted to do was help. I thought my idea would offer peace of mind and protection, something we all desire. I'm not sure why my brilliance (see OP) has suffered so much. I thought my peers at XDA would cheer me on, not mock me. Alas here I am writing my first public statement:
I'm sorry my idea is on another level of excellence that apparently has blown the minds of the majority of respondents.
I'm sorry my idea is not only cool, but looks hip and gets the attention of desirable members of society.
I'm sorry my mother said it was a good idea when she saw it and heard my reasoning.
I'm sorry that I have other professional tips that I will now never share.

I was curious about what a silver One might look like with black antenna bands, thinking maybe the black lines would add some detail to a very large silver surface. I find it not bad actually and I'm thinking of trying it out. Thoughts?

A really steady hand and a sharpie.
No. Really. Put painting tape on the edge of the band, and color inside the lines.
Looks ugly to me. Plus you probably won't be able to get that little ring around the camera effectively

I'm thinking maybe these pigment liners: http://www.staedtler.ca/pigment_liner_ca
I use them for drawing and they have a much less shiny and coarse appearance after drying than sharpie. I think it would be best to maintain the matte finish of the plastic bands right? Also even though it says sharpies are permanent, I've had it rub off but not the pigment liners.

I would just be careful covering that small hole on the back. I'm not sure if it's there to release heat. or is some sort of sound/mic, but there could be some issues with covering it up.

Black automotive pinstriping tape maybe?
Looks ok, but not a huge difference maker in my eyes.
Well instead of making them black I just made them silver instead. I think the back needs to be more unified rather than more complicated
For anyone interested, I used a silver sharpie and taped off the bands using electrical tape. DO NOT use masking tape! The edges bleed like crazy because the aluminum surface is not smooth. Electrical tape worked great though. Also if you mess up in any way, don't worry, our old friend the magic eraser takes everything back to normal (I had to do this after the tape issue haha)
I like it, looks a bit more unified to my eyes. I'll report back later about how it holds up after use. Thanks to everyone who commented by the way, that's part of the reason I went silver.
OT, kinda bummed that my iPod touch takes better low light pics than my ultrapurple One... Oh well, life's about compromise
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Well, I can already tell you that it holds up very poorly... Seems holding it removes the sharpie on the edges in a couple days (top band is OK, just the bottom where my hand is for now). this is what I was afraid of... I guess my search continues.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
If an iPod is taking better pictures you want to return your phone, your buying hardware as well as a beautiful looking phone you shouldn't compromise anything for the price your paying for the handset. If it's just the purple tint in low light pictures then fair enough it will be sorted with next software update. (hopefully).

My sentiments exactly. I usually hate black devices and tend to opt for white ones. But the white note 3 just looked tacky to me. As does the red. Also, I'm pretty sure the black has a different 'sticky' feel that the lighter colors can't have because they'll stain.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I wonder if they have the brushed-metal texture (like the black N3) or the cross-hatch pattern (like the white and pink N3s). Neither is discernible in the photo. To me, that's a bigger aesthetic consideration than the color itself.
Att: " hahaha these new colors will make them forget all about that bootloader"
I bought the white for the cross hatch pattern. I had the same black look for my Note 2. Got tired of it.
I like the black back tho. That's what's on my phone now

Who cares about colors. If you invest 700 USD on a phone you would be stupid not to put it in an ottorbox or similar case. In which case you would never see the colors anyways. All you should care about is the screen quality and function. It could be titty pink but as long as it is in a case nobody but you knows and so you should not care. I know I for one would not take my chance with this phone and just carry it in my pocket. Mine is in an ottorbox defender, it has had the plastic screen protector removed but in it's place is an armour brand matte protector.

Please learn to express your opinions without resorting to name-calling.
What's worse is that you're wrong. Those of us who don't buy expensive cases aren't stupid, we're right.
Many of us drop or bang our phones so seldom that we break them less than once every ten or twenty years. That means that if we buy an expensive case for each new phone, we end up paying MORE in the long run than we pay if we simply replace our unprotected phones on the rare occasions when they break. And that's in addition to the undesirable bulk (and yes, undesirable aesthetics) of a case.
All you should care about is the screen quality and function.

Who are you to tell other people what they should care about? Why aren't you able to have your own preferences without imagining that everyone else is supposed to have the same ones?

How about no? Those of us who really care get a phone for everything it offers. Bodyguardz screen protector, S View cover, insurance. I maintain the slim profile, add even more features to an already loaded phone, and I have a way to replace my phone for $300 total...

Had an extra red back cover. Decided to take the risk and see if I could remove the logos. Used 5000 grit wet sand paper (used for headlights) and a lot of patience. And wallah no logo. I made sure to go real light on it so I don't affect the soft touch coating. Turned out way better than I expected. I thought there would actually be some marks left or a change in the texture. But nope, looks and feels the same just no logo
Nice job! Looks great! :good:
That's what I like about the ballistic nylon. No Verizon logos.
Well done. :good:
I can't stand how far Verizon goes with slapping their logo all over. Especially the poor phones that suffer the fate of a Verizon logo under the display.
I saw someone that suggested using clear tape and granulated sugar to remove logos, never tried it, but seems like it could work.

Interesting. Can you elaborate a little? Do you just put the sugar on it and tape it on? And he eats the laser etching away? Lol or do you treat it more like a sandpaper.
Looked like he used it as sandpaper. Sugar was aggressive enough to remove the painted logo, but not harsh enough to damage the plastic.
I don't understand why the Logo is so maddening to some people.

It bothers people because of bad placement and also if u bought the phone out right you should have say on what is on it or not. verizon being the way they are is the reason so many are leaving to go to another provider.

This is my personally reason. Let's say you bought a BMW m5. So you expect the BMW logo. You expect the m5 logo. Now imagine, smack dab in the center of your hood is the dealership you bought the car from logo. Verizon is the dealer. They provide a service I pay for. I don't feel they have the right to advertise on something they didn't build.
And besides all that..I think it looks cleaner.

Hey everyone.. Just stopping in with a quick question. Have been searching for an answer and found this discussion...
I have the Turbo BN 32GB and it has the VZW logo directly above the metal Droid logo on the back.
I have seen quite a few other BN versions without the VZW logo so I'm wondering how I go about removing it?
It appears to be applied to the BN similar to the way an iron-on patch is applied to a shirt. I would say it is certainly removable, just no idea how to attack this project. I obviously do not want to damage the nylon in the process.
The main reasons I am wanting to remove it are I believe the BN backing looks phenomenal without it and I am using a PureGear clear case which puts the BN on prominent and permanent display. Would look so much more slick without the VZW sticker plastered on the back. (Tried including a picture but that is a no-go)
Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
OK I got an s4 for free a week ago that had a little bit of its small bezil around the screen revealing the white under the cheap crome. It's increased drematicly over the last few days. Any way to repair it or at least make it look nice again without a case?

Spray paint or a bumper.
There's nothing you can do to prevent it.
The paint is coming off my phone too. And it's coming off in stupid areas, like around the infrared port and the headphone slot. It doesn't even make sense, I don't even touch that area. But the sides, where there most contact happens, are fine, practicly like new.

For me it's mainly around the screen so it's visible when in use and damn ugly xD. I'm buying a $60 new battery for this phone i got for free so overall $60 I'm not sure an s4 in this condition is worth :/ is it? Oh and yeah my headphone port is completely white. I didn't do anything. It happens. My phone is black, so removing the chrome might not look as good as on a white phone.
But it doesn't affect me in any way. I care more about it working fine than looking brand new. Of course, if you're going to sell it, it is important to keep it in good shape. But if I get a new phone I will keep this one as a backup most probably. So that's that.
