How do I flash froyo beta with out root and clockworkmod???

Hello, I am not rooted and know nothing about clockworkmod. (I have tried rooting numerous times but no success. I'm thinking drivers) I would like to know if its possible to flash it with my epic being stock? I have searched and have turned no results about flashing it from stock. Everything refers to rooted. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You can root with z4root couldn't be easier. No PC required.

Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Download titanium backup.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Ok I will. I just tried flashing the beta and it says something about invalid signature??
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
You still need clockwork to flash.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Do I need to buy clockwork?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
No but I am not sure if you can install it without a pc. Are you using the drivers from samsung?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Yes I downloaded samsung galaxy s drivers from here when I tried to root. Never for them to work even with 2 fresh installs. Thanks for the info on the z4root, by far the easiest and fastest way I've ever rooted before. But ya I have samsung drivers.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
is it the same driver you get from the samsung website? You said you got them here so I am just checking cause I am not sure. I got mine right from the samsung website.

download rom manager by clockworkmod in market, free will do
Just tried to use that to flash the froyo beta and it says signature verification failed.

I am afraid I won't be any help there. I haven't flashed clockwork yet because I am not sure how easy it is to remove (noob) so I am waiting until Froyo releases. Unless I can't find an easy method to install it and uninstall it.
just downloaded z4root and rom manager from market
z4root installing right now

Help please

Hello, I am not inexperienced with all the epic mods so I can understand most of what's being explained. Long story short had to odin my epic back to stock. I only had time to root it, not to put clockwork back on from my computer. I'm stuck on 24hr duty now and I have all the files from clockwork on my phone. I want it back on so I can use my favorite rom while I sit here. So... is there any way that I can install clockwork from either terminal, or through stock recovery? Thanks ahead of time.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Ps before I get the why didn't you search. Well I have... I can do it manually through adb but I don't know how through terminal if it's possible. Or hopefully someone can point me to an update.zip compatible with stock recovery

Not recommended - ROM Manager's install method is hackish.

Use the One Click Clockwork flasher. Unlike ROM Manager, it drops Clockwork right in bml7, where it belongs, replacing the stock recovery. No custom kernel needed.
I have tried rom manager. Several times. Each time it tells me it has an error with downloading clockworkmod recovery.

Lol, I would but my entire problem is that I do not have a computer at my disposal. I appreciate the responses though.

Also, I was wondering if there was a way I could use the one click script in terminal?

Oh and I got rom manager to download the file but when I try to update.zip from stock recovery it says somthing like cannot be verified as whole file.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I has the same problem as op. Its best to do the one click root with clock work mod in it. I found it to be easiest after many problems with z4root and rom manager. You will need a computer though.

Thanks for the try guys. I ended up getting to a computer and I'm back on track.

try using sgs kernel flasher from the market edit. If you are soft bricked then easiest solution its to reflash your rom, though in this case as you bricked with a lagfix you will need to make sure that you use a pit. file too in order too repartition your sd card, don't panic, fixable

Not gonna happen right now. You'll just have to wait. The G2 isn't the easiest thing in the world to root in the first place, so its going to take a little time.
If you're ancy, just downgrade, and flash a pre-rooted stock OTA build.
Theres a way to root it already out for a while. Search cause that's what I used

I want CWM 5.8.x.x

It looks awesome, I've been sick of clicking the physical buttons over and over for a LONG time now. I know that there have been touchscreen driver improvements for use with 5.8+ and cm9, but what is the likelihood of us actually getting it? I really hope someone can make it work, I would be very thankful!

The touch screen cwm? Actually well get it once koush is finished. Our cm9 isn't buggy so it should work fine.

Yep it's being worked on. Koush said it was buggy and unreleasable. Though that was like a month and a half ago.
And we can support it after they fixed the touch drivers.

And if that don't work flash cm9. With nyan4.2 with it baked in then flash back to cm7 and check to have the recovery reinject itself after flashing the rom... then you will have that recovery on cm7... worked for peoples rom! Just note that flashing another kernel overwrites it unless you remember to inject it after flashing... cwm backups are not compatible with twrp

Honestly I don't know for sure, I can't think of anything that it would bork. Reboot recovery is now linked to the proper partition so that should work fine, I'm gonna flash the AOKP 34 here in a bit and then I'll see if just flashing the recovery zip works.
