Any useful tweaks or settings which I could use? There is many appn on the market and they allow to tweak internal memory management but I have no idea what settings to use.
No matter which I try, my phone always seem to stick to ~100MB RAM Free. Why so much? I'd prefer ~50MB RAM Free and more apps running without closing.

you mean you want 100mb ram free but only have 50mb? you can check out a ram cleaner script. the link is in my signature called mods for virtuous unity. just download the zip file, back up your phone and superwipe, then flash your rom then ram cleaning script then reboot and your done
Actually it was the other way around, I always had 100 MB free and my apps have been closed often. I played with one of the tools to tweak internal memory manager and now my free RAM goes down to 60 and apps stay in memory, this is what I wanted. FireFox Nightly takes a lot on its own...
Will play with settings some more before posting them here.
Only app and root needed, no scripts or Rom flashing.
I'm runing CoreDroid port, I love its theme.
My opinion is if what you perceive as a lack of available memory is not degrading the performance of your phone, including the apps which run on the phone, then it's a non-issue as the latest versions of Android have a much better handle on memory management than the older versions.
I agree but in my case system had 100MB RAM free but when I launched another app it would close other app and system would still have 100 MB RAM Free. So imagine me opening media player and listening to mp3 and then I launch Firefox and music stops, yet there is still 100 MB RAM Free.
I have changed settings and it's better now, Free RAM drops down to 60MB so I can have more apps running.
Previously, Firefox would close whenever I switched out of it, annoying.

Is the phone's internal memory shared for both app-storage AND running processes? I had assumed they were separate memory pools.
I monitor my Running Services pretty closely and I can see the memory mgmt only trying to maintain about 18 MB free. The phone starts to lag if there's less than that so I would like to see more available, e.g. 30 MB! Would implementing A2SD achieve this? Again, I was under the impression that it would not. Other threads have specifically stated that A2SD has nothing at all to do with performance and instead is intended to make it easier to switch ROMs by maintaining all your installed apps on the SD card (apart from the memory you need to flash when changing ROMs)

Internal memory has nothing to do with RAM, which is what running processes use.
You want auto killer. Can set your minimum memory free and forget it, and let android maintain it.

i thought honeycomb tablets have 1 gb of ram ( ~770 in reality) so I thought I would be multitasking quite well. But my icona usually have about 200 ram free when I check it in a task switcher. I hear other people with other tablets have more than 500 mb free or at least near that amount. I rooted my tab and deleted some system apps that I don't use so that they dnt run in the background, but still my free ram is very low. Just to let you know, I have about 2 pages of apps in my app drawer with all the system apps such as gmail included. I don't think that's too many.
Will installing a custom rom fix this issue? Any help is appreciated!

and I would like to know also that installing a custom rom will make this tablet faster when switching between apps. It becomes very laggy sometimes doing that. Also right now on stock rom, I sometimes have even around only 150mb free ram. That's like 256mb ram on a smartphone..

yea the maximum I get is about 350mb after killing all the tasks. At the very first right after killing everything, its a little bit more than 400, then it keeps decreasing because of the closed services starting to run again. I once saw a video review of touchwiz on galaxy tab 10.1 and in the task manager, the free ram was over 600 out of 7xx. I couldn't believe it. Of course nothing was running, but when mine doesn't run any apps I have about 350mb. As I said I dont have that many apps..I didn't want to install custom roms and wanted to keep mine as stock as possible, but IF a custom rom will help will free ram issue, I am willijg to install one. Or if there is any other solution, please let me know! Oh and right now, I have a gmail and a web browser with 1 tab open, and I only have 264mb ram left. Please help if you know how to solve this issue..
Androids memory model causes it to cache very vigorously. The amount of RAM free is pretty much a worthless number because the system automatically relaxes the cache when the system is lower on memory, so programs don't get rejected RAM requests.

There is no issue here, it's working just fine. If it didn't cache anything, then it'd take 30 seconds longer to load an app. As I said, if your system is low on ram, it'll automatically release as much as required to maintain the system from the cache. It's not causing any hit on multi-tasking, in fact, it helps keep the programs loaded and in cache so they switch faster.
I think you are saying that android system kills the app that's not as much used that's running in the background, so that the system cannot run out of memory. If you are really saying this, I already know it.. or maybe you are saying something different. What I'm saying is that BECAUSE the system kills background app to run a newly opened app if memory is too little, when I reopen that killed app, it has to reload again, and that affects effective multitasking. If it kills the browser, then all the tabs has to reload again, and it's so annoying..I have to have browser with 2 to 3 tabs, a dictionary, pdf reader, word document, and sometimes more, and I thought with 1GB RAM tablets, this would be easy to handle. If there are about 500 MB RAM free when nothing's open, then it could be possible to use all those apps without any one closing due to low memory, but I only have about 350MB free when nothing's open. I prefer not to install custom ROM, so I rooted with 'Iconia Root' app, then deleted some bloatwares, then unrooted again with the app. I thought this would help a lot, but it didn't..I probably didn't uninstall all the system apps that's useless. I don't know what AcerNidus (I'm not sure if this is correct) is, and some other acer apps that I should keep and I should delete..I would like to keep receiving updates, so I shouldn't delete something like system updater, but I don't know what else I should keep and delete. Thank's for trying to help me though. If anyone know, could you guys tell me what system apps should I delete, so that I will have the most free ram, run smoothly, keep getting acer updates, an not void warranty? Thank you so much!

On S2 I always have about 400 in use even with 400 apps installed the worse condition was about 200 free, but on note most of the time with less than 20 apps from market I am having about 160 free.
I fear the moment that I install all the old ones and see again the ram memory problems of first android phones and the need to get back the task killers, configure autostarts and all of that crap that I forgot with the S2.

Android is designed to fill as much memory as it can with apps, so free space generally isn't a concern at all. In fact, in theory you should only be concerned if you DO have a lot of memory free.
Tasker, however, did complain when it didn't think I had enough memory free.

The problem it isn't that android use alls, the problem it is that if you don't have enough free all the device will be slower.

Becuase you have all the ram used in programs and if a new one needs more memory, like for example the browser, he will try first to delete others data and then copy her data to the ram and this will make the devices slower. Then we will have another situation, when the program can't delete others data so he can't use the ram and we will get memory notification problems and a slower device that fails to run some programs.
And 150mb free it is very little, some browsers uses about 100/150mb or games or any other apps, so I think it is a situation to be really concerned about.
I've rooted and frozen several apps from Samsung including the TouchWiz Launcher, I've installed a bunch of apps and RAM can be up to ~430mb once I've killed all tasks. I use two task killers (Process Manager & Advanced Task Manager) and I have the latter auto-kill tasks in 30 minute intervals.
But if you've installed 400+ apps, I'd think that would somewhat affect the RAM count.

What is best RAM cleaner for Android 4.3? My RAM is always about 700-800 MB (I play games, watch videos, use facebook so everything what is eat the RAM) on my S4. But after I reboot my phone it is about 1200 MB. So how can I fully clear the RAM without a reboot?
your system is cleaning RAM so you don't have to think about it..................best cleaner is no cleaner at all :good:

Couldn't agree more.
Those apps are designed to Hoover money from suckers. Android manages RAM just fine itself; it doesn't like 'free' RAM. Thing is people are used to Windows managing RAM badly/not releasing RAM when programs are exited/etc, so when they see low free RAM in Android they think they need to free some up/use an app to do this.
If you constantly free RAM up in Android, rather than having apps ready to go based on your usage patterns which Android does normally, it has to start apps completely from scratch, and you will end up using more battery long run as a result.

As mentioned above the system is designed to manage RAM itself by freeing up as and when required. But if you want to quickly refresh you could use the built-in task manager (hold home button) to close all open apps. Theres also Greenify (search play store) which hibernates apps and prevents them from running constantly in the background using up resources, its not as harsh as a "RAM cleaner" as it works more with the way processes and services are handled by android.

Which ROM is the most "stripped/bloatfree" version which I could use to do my tests on, And can you recommend any which have overclocking functions, and if so, what kind of stable settings have been found to work on a T350.

The main problem seems to be the lack of RAM, As it has 1.5GB but using JazzROM, The system uses almost 1gb of memory alone. How can I free up memory space from system processes ?
Honestly there isn't a whole lot you can do, you could maybe free up a few more MB if you go into system processes and kill some random stuff. But you're already on a custom ROM so there won't be much if anything to kill.

JazzROM is stock base ROM, that's why, it is NOT really slimmed down version. What you can do is, you can use root explorer and go to System --> Apps, and delete some apps (make sure these apps can be downloadable from either Galaxy App Store or Google Play Store)
Ok thanks guys. I set "do not run background processes" and deleted some system apps, I can get about 800mb of free memory. One other thing I wanted to ask is that when I press the power button on the device to put it in standby mode, It goes to a lock/clock screen and doesnt turn the display off using JazzROM, Any ideas?
