I love the size and the fact it's a mini tablet.
I'm a big ass dude with big ass hands and it'll be fine or me. It could also replace my Vibrant AND my iPad 2

I love to have this thing but it might not find a way into US anytime soon

Wonder how the nexus prime will be compared to this beuty

Who's excited? I am!
Screw the GSII! Give me this, and you can have my phone and tablets.

I would buy in a minute i need a large screen I have Big Hands and It would be way easier to read on it.

wow I really like it but then again I can't buy a new phone.

Not excited unless we can port a fully functional gingerbread from it...which most likely is a no go.

It really bothered me that you only had 99 thanks...so I gave you one to give you your hundredth.
But after having a vibrant 5.3 inches seems perfectly fine by me now. I even the vibrant's screen is getting a little small, but it sure is beautiful.

This is my dream phone! Perfect screen size, great specs.Too bad it won't be available in the US

I loooove the huge screen!!!

wow your the forum police You have no right to tell me what to do. I have just as much right to speak as you do. I choose not to like samsucks but that does not make me a troll. PS did you ever read the thread NEVER AGAIN. There is a lot of ppl upset with the way samsucks don't update their phones.

It's a little to small to relplace my iPad and a little too large for me to want to replace my vibrant with it... Am still mostly on the fence but am thinking the Nexus Prime will be my next phone.
For folks who don't already have an android tablet or iPad i can see this device filling both the phone and tablet role... I just think there's a bit too much of a sacrifice in the middle...

I too am wondering about the Nexus Prime

That thing is AWSOME!!!

Definitely thinking about getting this, or the prime.

Nexus 2

Okay, so I've had my Nexus one for a while now, and I was wondering what they could possibly do to the nexus 2 that would make it even better. I'm thinking probably a faster processor, and more ram, but what else comes to mind?
would love to see a FM Trans to like "broadcast" to the radio....Like those transmitters for mp3 players....Would be siiiick to have pandora or something playing over car radio via my phone
Don't they have something that does that already?
better use of the snapdragon processor, but that's software related... I would like it to be more durable such as made from a single block of aluminium. Also a powerful graphics chip.

Yeah, a more powerful graphics chip would be awesome, I just can't wait til the big developers start moving towards android so we can have some of the awesome games and apps the iPhone has.

I second this. God that thing is amazing. But it won't look right until the Supersonic comes out. THEN a decent Rom will be possible in my eyes.
But with Windows Phone 7 I can imagine the devs are busy porting that to it right now.

Not that I could care less... but I would really love for the N2 to have a true multi-touch screen to shut that debate down... 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal ROM, 4" screen, XVGA LCD or SuperAMOLED... I don't like AMOLED for outdoor use. 10MP camera, with xenon flash... and of course Android 3.1!

For less than $500 right?
I will be keeping my Nexus for 2 or more years, whatever comes around the corner - i'll just port it over to the Nexus.. since the N1 is like the G1 in terms of development and popularity, I should be ok for a while..
(this is really what I'm just telling myself.. I dont want my precious Nexus to become.. not worth the time of day anymore...)
Why does technology have to advance so fast!! =(
front facing camera for video chat, a high quality speaker-phone, a kickstand with a projected laser keyboard? an hd projector component
hardware keyboard
x
I myself am sick of the having to chase technology.... I'm done for a bit, my n1 will sufficient for a year, I think thats a good time to get a new phone, once every year...
N1 just needs adobe flash and apps to sd and ill be happy as a cucumber....
Video recording capability @ 24 frames per second (constant!) with DECENT audio quality ... like the Milestone. Why have a 480x720 video resolution when the video is laggy and audio is utter crap? Also a flash option on the video recording would also be good - again, just like the Milestone.
Finally, make FM radio work and you have the perfect device.
the 1ghz processor is enough for me. the current amount of ram is enough- maybe a tad bump is cool.
get rid of the amoled display, 4-4.3 inch display. no trackball. sleep/wake from a hardware button like g1/mytouch. being able to shoot hd video.
other than that... having the nexus one has finally made me not eager to look/have the next best cellular device. this n1 almost kicks my netbooks ass

The handset is centered around a 480 x 800 4.3-inch TFT LCD, with a Snapdragon QSD8650 1GHz processor under the hood (the CDMA version of the QSD8250 in the HD2 and Nexus One), and even a helpful 1GB of built-in memory and 512MB of RAM -- hello app storage! Even the battery is bigger than the HD2, and the camera is an 8 megapixel monstrosity with flash, that's capable of 720p video, and is augmented by a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for good measure. The phone features HDMI out (though you'll need an adapter for turning it into a TV-familiar HDMI plug), 802.11b/g WiFi, and an 8GB microSD card
HTC EVO 4G features the latest version of the increasingly popular Android platform, Android 2.1, offering more than 35,000 apps as well as a mind-blowing list of features, including:

Superfast 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor ensuring a smooth and quick movement within phone menus.
Two cameras – an 8.0 megapixel auto-focus camera with HD-capable video camcorder and a forward-facing 1.3 megapixel camera.
Built-in mobile hotspot functionality allowing up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices to share the 3G or 4G experience on the go with a laptop, camera, music player, game unit, video player, or any other Wi-Fi enabled device.

This thing is gonna be sick. And I was just starting to really like my Hero now that I have 2.1 working on it pretty well...

My decision has been made... the N1 is nice but this thing, once stripped of Sense, will win.

If your phone fails 5 times they're supposed to swap it for "something of equal or lesser value"
Chances are you'd get a Moment, MAYBE, MAYBE an N1. as far as the SS, keep dreaming.
I hope they don't saddle it with a huge extra monthly fee for 4G. I'm nowhere near a 4G area, but I'd love to have this phone for its other benefits.
I'd be willing to shell out full price for the phone if they get it in the $600 or less range, but that's just a one time hit. I'm not a big fan of increasing my monthly bill, especially if the increase if for a service I have no chance of being able to use.
Will be out this summer!

I've looking and found conflicting answers, but what file types does the Epic support?
mp4, dvix, and a few more? What about AVI or others?
I wish I had the chance to play with mine, but we're supposed to have 6 reps in store and we only have 2. So between 12 hour shifts and lines out the door, not much time playing with the device, sadly.

If the internals are anything like the other Galaxy S's, it should play all those formats, NATIVELY. The Galaxy S lines are one of the most well rounded when it comes to media file playback. Samsung's wide support of these media dates back to their Yepp mp3 player days and all with fantastic linear audio quality output.
Just check out how linear this thing is:
A quote from gsmarena.com
Perfect audio quality
Like many other things about this handset, the audio output of the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S is downright impressive. The handset was reasonably loud and scored excellently on each and every reading in our test.
The signal-to-noise ratio is impressive and so are the flawless dynamic range and frequency response.
The distortion levels are also top-notch and generally there is nothing about the Galaxy S audio quality that we can frown at. And here go the results so you can see for yourselves.

All of this is thanks to mDNSE - mobile Digital Natural Sound Engine chip. This is the mobile version of the DNSE chip found on their TVs, DVD and other home theater systems.
Has anyone confirmed the video codec support? Since the Epic isn't shipping with the same version of TW as the others, it could be missing some of the codec support found in them.
One of the things holding me back is the screen actually. I tried a Vibrant and noticed the smaller screen, same thing applies to the Epic

while the screen is a little smaller than the evo, the screen display is soo vivid. I took the 16gb micro SD card home, d/l'ed clash of the titans 720P .mkv and hot tub time machine, (and put super troopers .avi) and it looks AMAZING. It kills the evo screen. Lighter than the evo. Battery life is awesome on it. I got my coworkers in the rolodex and we just go in the back and text each other from it all day. Love love love this phone. When my boss told me I would be the advocate for this device, I was depressed for about a week or so because I have had nothing but HTC since my mogul, and the moment was not that great of a phone (and the intercept isnt anything worthwhile either... and if I had a dollar for everytime someone complained about a samsung inSTINKt!!! lol). Now, I dont feel bad at all cheating on the HTC brand. This phone is epic! If I find some fatal flaw after it being in my posession after launch.... well, I still have my full upgrade to get the evo, or whatever the next 4g phone will be...

Samsung Galaxy S2 HD is a super-powered S2

Okay, this is hot!

Samsung Galaxy S2 HD is a super-powered S2
By Luke Westaway on 26 September 2011, 5:11pm
Samsung will soon launch a new version of its brilliant Galaxy S2 Android phone. The Samsung Galaxy S2 HD will pack a 4.7-inch display and a 1.5GHz processor.
The bad news? At the moment, this souped-up smart phone is only coming to Samsung's native land of South Korea.
The S2 HD was announced alongside another new version of the S2 that has a 1.5GHz processor and 4.5-inch screen, with both phones packing LTE tech that makes them 4G-compatible.
We don't get 4G in the UK, just rubbish old 3G, so these particular versions won't be coming to our green and pleasant land. Normally, we don't report on phones that won't come to the UK, but we're making an exception in this case, because we reckon Samsung could well bring a 3G version of the S2 HD over here in the future.
We certainly wouldn't complain, because this monolithic mobile has a display with a resolution of 1,280x720 pixels, which makes it a high-definition mobile. That beats the iPhone 4's 960x640-pixel screen. With an 'HD Super AMOLED' display, we suspect the S2 HD will look blindingly good.
The S2 HD is 9.5mm thick, which is about a millimetre thicker than the Galaxy S2. It also packs a 1,850mAh battery, which is bigger than the S2's 1,650mAh offering.
In short then, the Galaxy S2 HD is like the Galaxy S2 but bigger and faster. We're not sure we can handle mobile telephony that potent this early in the week, but, Samsung, if you're reading, we desperately want to see this mobile hitting the UK.
The existing S2 is proving a fair old success meanwhile, having recently passed the 10 million sales milestone.
Do you want to see the Galaxy S2 HD breaking free and heading to the UK? Then say as much in the comments section below, or on our Facebook wall, and maybe Samsung will take notice.

As much as I like the specs of the souped up SG2 with 1.5ghz with HD display, the 4.7 inch screen is just too big for my tastes. Not sure about other people but the MAXIMUM I would take for a PHONE would probably be 4.5 inches.
Be nice to have it over here as well due to the HD screen but if i can be honest i rather wait for the S3 when that comes out...My phone is powerful enough as it is and if i want to push the cpu i can...So for someone who has not got the S2 this is good upgrade but for me i wait for the next big thing to be honest...
If only they could squeeze this resolution on a 4 - 4.3 inch display....
Apple did it, im sure samsung can do that aswell.
bye portability

and features LGU+ along with standard LTE
LGU+ is a proprietary LTE by LG only in Korea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LG_U+
chances are we'll never see this model in North America
Screen size sames as T-mobile/Sprint version 4.65" same CPU 1.5 Ghz probably Qualcomm instead of Exynos
I'm guessing the screen's pentile.

Yeah if it wasn't 4.7", it'd seem more luscious. For reals though, I love the baby too much to let go, even if I hear/read/see the sgs 3/nexus prime. (won't really know till it happens though. )

Record a concert with your phone? Yes, that was the primary goal of Samsung. Hey, there are ****loads of people who go to concerts not to enjoy the music, but to create low quality blurry pictures and videos waving their phones in the air. Damn you Samsung, you've failed.
Anyways, 4.7 is WAY to big for a phone. I'm not sure it can be called a phone anymore. I'd prefer 4" sharp personally. 4.3" is a bit too big for me.

So, after many speculation it has a QUAD core CPU, 2GB RAM and a 5MP Camera. The only drawback is the 720 screen, not 1080, but anyway it is the perfect tablet imho, you can do everything with it!.
Will you buy it, and why?
That's WAY too expensive for a tablet.
Especially since it is a 16GB. They can't compete with prices like that.
lol 750 USD? this is gonna be a joke.
A Watcom digitizer is alone 200$ and when the tablet will be available on proper retail channels it will be around 550$. So, under that price it will worth every penny.
If the pen is not necessary, this is a subpar tablet. The TF700 is better.
This is the only thing that makes me want the tablet, SPen, and also Samsung build quality, i own the Prime and i know what i am talking about. TF700 suffers the same I/O problems like TF201.
I have been saving since introduction of first iPad to buy this. I have used windows tablets with wacom pens and only I know how frustrating that is.

For that money they could provide NFC ...i don't understand the omission, you could pair it with your phone easily, Nexus 7 has it. At least it has BT 4.0.
it's a beautiful tablet with a great specs and s-pen but it's a little bit expensive.
i wonder what for the infra-red, remote control what, note 2 maybe?! samsung smart tv maybe?
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 also has IR for the control of TVs and other IR enabled devices.
BTW, this device has the Apt-x codec for bluetooth audio (also BT 4.0 I believe). This codec works great and is sort of rare right now. OS X has it built in but it's sometimes difficult to use (other codecs compete, for some reason). Anyway, there is presently only a handful of devices that use this. I want it as I own a Soundmatters Foxl that uses this codec. It works well and sounds better than regular bluetooth audio (which is marginal).
Note: It's interesting that OS X has this codec but iOS does not. Lame. Also, it's apparently one of the only Android device that uses it.
I hope it does have exFat support (ntfs in my dreams .. ), my Prime has it.
Nice commercial:

Having waited ages for this tablet's release the specs are disappointing. Not for me I'm afraid...still no Android tablet out there that I can justify purchasing

What is it that you are missing?
Strange, why no 1080p? This one is top of the line Samsung tablet at the moment, should got at least 1080p. 1280x800 for 10.1" tablet is so yesteryear imo. Battery concern? Mali-400 can't handle 1080p?

When I sit down and give it a bit more thought perhaps I am being over critical...I just can't get excited yet! Will have to wait and see how it fairs in hands on reviews. I just hope the S Pen calibration is improved over the N7000. As a left handed user I find it pretty poor and the continuous cycle of having to reset the 'left handed' calibration option in the pen options is just frustrating, especially on a device designed to work with a pen! A slight bump in screen resolution and processor speed would have been a nice touch, though on balance these aren't necessarily going to be deal breakers.
I really don't need 1080 screen resolution...it comes with age (worse eye site)
As for pen, it's something different because it has 1024 pressure levels, not just 256 like our Note does.
Another selling point for me is the inclusion of 2GB of RAM, dreaming of dual booting in Ubuntu (or in worst case WinRT which needs a lot of RAM).

Sorry for the slight off topic but Touch Screen Tune from the market sorts out calibration. Does need root.

Also, if i activate the pen cursor in ICS i don't feel the need for any calibration.
