[Q] is there a code generator for the htc hd2? - HD2 General

i've read all the old forums here and was wondering if by now someone found a way to generate codes to sim unlock htc phones? specifically the htc hd2 lock to t-mobile. thanks

If they have they aren't sharing.

Sadly no its call TMobile and ask nice, or pay up for the code no other option

The unlock code is specific to your particular device. IF you are a T-Mobile customer in good standing and have been there for at least 3 months, they will provide you the code within 2 business days, I have been with T-Mobile about 5 years now and I have never had a problem getting an unlock code......

Please help for getting a sim unlock code for wing

Hi all! Two weeks ago i bought a sim locked t-mobile wing from usa to russia. I was unpleasant surprised that there is no free and simple solutions for unlock this model. My question: people who have a t-mo account help me please) Could u call 611 and ask code for me? Or it is possible only for a first owner? . Thanks)
1. Dont put ur imei here. This is a public forum, so everyone @ internet can see it
2. Contact jockw2001... He can help u for a small fee
hi. im new here and i just got a t-mobile wing for doing some work. does this jockw2001 have a wesite to unlock the phone?
just call tmobile your self. i recently bought an att tilt off ebay that was locked and att gave me the code for free. when i was useing my wing tmobile gave me the unlock code for free too.
dont you have to be a subscriber for t-mobile to get one? im an at&t user and i dont want to wait 90 days to be able to do it.
T-Mobile USA provides the unlock code for free if
you are in a service agreement
you have a T-Mobile USA prepaid card and uploaded at least $10.00 during the past 3 months
You sure still can try to get the unlock code from them by contacting them via email at www.t-mobile.com
Other than that, I doubt that you can reach T-Mobile USA Customer Care from outside the US.
It sure will work if you know a US citizen with a T-Mobile plan or prepaid card. He then can contact T-Mobile for you and request a SIM UNLOCK CODE by providing them with the device IMEI.
well if thats all i need to do, then i will find someone that has t-mobile. i live in the US so im not worried about not being able to contact t-mobile customer service. thank you for all of your help. you guys are awesome!
is Mr . jockw2001 Reliable ?
so i can send him money ?

Phone Unlocking?

Completely out of curiosity...
why is it that iPhone users with At&T can Jailbreak then Unlock their phones via software hacks, but I have to either call up T-Mobile for some code, or pay some dodgy guy over ebay??
http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/how-to-tech/how-to-unlock-cell-phone3.htm
doesnt explain anything :S
Try this, more phones coming all the time.
Great way to root your android.../bit.ly/aa4jxJ
Sent from my Android for Telechips TCC8900 Evaluation Board (US) using XDA App
thanks but i was looking for Unlocking from Network providers, not rooting?
from the limited knowledge i have on the subject and the things ive picked up while owning an iphone:
the iphone started out being locked to the networks indefinitely. at&t, to this day i believe, didnt/dont provide unlocking of the iphone. the way regular unlocks work, ie by code, is that the imei of the phone is used with an algorithm to provide the code. the people who have this algorithm are either the phone manufacturer and/or the network provider.
tmobile may be able to generate the code themselves, or go direct to the manufacturers for the code. the ebay sellers pay for your specific code, and then sell it onto you, basically middle men.
however with the iphone, neither at&t nor apple wanted to assist in unlocking, so without access to the algorithm generated codes, the only other option was software hacks.
problems with iphone software unlocks are that they can be wiped off with a restore; when a baseband update is released in a new firmware update, it can take a while for an update software unlock is released; you can get signal problems (blacksn0w, ios4.0.2 on unlocked 3g). nowadays, uk carriers at least, unlock phones eg o2, with t&c of course.
all in all, id rather pay the £6 to the "dodgy guy" on ebay, than have a software unlock.
ah thanks for that!

[Q] Sim Unlock Question

I have appraoched a few companies (and also paid them) to get my HTC HD2 unlocked (Tmobile USA) but they came back to me with "the IMEI is new". Any suggestions on a possible website that unlocks these new ones will be appreciated.
Thanks all
PM me your IMEI
have you tried asking t-mobile? I've heard they will give it to you 60days after you get the phone.
I got my unlock code for my HD2 after I told T-Mo I was leaving the country and there roaming charges sucked. I told them I was going to buy a local pay as you go sim card and use it in my phone. In like a month HTC E-Mailed me the code after T-Mobile requested it.
But you need to be a Tmobile user in order to call and ask for the Unlock code? They will ask you about the plan that you have?
Because I have an HD2 from Tmobile but I'm not a customer.

[Q] Switch from USCC to AT&T code?

My friend has a USCC SGS 5, while he can take the sim out, it will not take to an AT&T sim without some sort of unlock code, I have not looked at it so I don't know but he brought it to AT&T and they said they can't (obviously) without a specific code that HE has to get from USCC themselves but he does not want to have to pay just for a code so he can get his preferred carrier.
My question, if you haven't already guessed it, is:
Is there any other way to unlock the carrier without paying for it? (Root, finding the unlock code from within the phone itself...)
I have a rooted Sprint SGS III but I have no knowledge of the 5's as I never had one and, thus far, can not afford it.
Nearing 24 hours and no reply, I'm just going to assume there is no way to unlock the carrier without the carrier's say-so.
I was hoping it would be somewhere in the phone, maybe in a text document that I could root the phone then read it and find out for him, I'm sure he wouldn't mind but if its a no-go then I'll just let him know, thanks either way.
CDMA phones usually require the owning carrier to do the unlocking. It'd have to be taken in.
