[Q] XXJVR - The Home button default is reset after long pressing home? - Galaxy S I9000 General

I've just moved to stock XXJVR and am a Launcher Pro user.
I have selected Launcher Pro as the default action for the Home button which works fine until I long press Home to bring up the Recent dialog. After the Recent dialog has been shown the next time I press the Home button I am again prompted as to which launcher I want to use.
I have checked the "Launch by default" settings for Launcher pro and it is initially registered and is cleared after the long press of home.
This seems to be a new bug with JVR that wasn't an issue on JVQ. Interestingly I have seen this issue also on the Galaxy S ii so it is perhaps a new Samsung 'feature'.
Does anyone have any decent workaround for this other than doing an uninstall of TwLauncher?
Thanks!

I'm on JVR too running launcher pro and I do not have this problem so it's definitely not ROM related. I did have the same issue though in the past, it vanished by itself moving on to new updates and firmwares.

Nope, no problem here. Using stock JVR and Go-Launcher EX

I'm having this same problem, very frustrating!
Bug was present on JVS (Simplicity ROM and Stock) and also most recently it is still present in JVT (Stock).
Not THAT big of a deal, just really annoying! BTW it happens with any launcher I try, launcher pro, go launcher ex, etc.
Any solution is greatly appreciated!

Glad to hear itis not just me.
I ended up uninstalling the twlauncher application using titanium backup. This hasn't caused any problems since.

Nice one, didnt want to do it previously, but it solved the problem! Never used TW before anyway. Thanks.

[Q] ADW.Launcher Weird Bug, can anyone confirm?

So just recently I started trying out apps that redirect the hold Search Button action, and I noticed a weird bug. Everything works as expected, except for when I am in ADW Launcher, nothing will happen and I will get the message "Application is not installed on your phone". So I check LogCat and apparently holding the Search Button when I'm in ADW tries to launch BING VOICE SEARCH. I even try installing VZW BING from the Marketplace, and lo and behold holding the Search Button in ADW launches BING.
I am using the latest ADW, version 1.33. This bug only occurs when I am in ADW, if I am in any other app/launcher, even TWLauncher, this will not happen. I am using Jt's Clean 0.6 ROM, and I tested his Clean 0.7 ROm and I still get this bug. If I roll back to ADW version 1.20 I do not have this bug.
Can anyone else using the latest ADW confirm this for me?
EDIT: Confirmed by Fluffy, though he is also on DJ05, any non-DJ05 people care to confirm just to eliminate all doubt that ADW is the culprit?
EDIT: Okay, guess it is ADW that is the culprit, already left a message to let AnderWeb know of this.
Same here. I had just updated ADW and thought it was a problem with some lingering Twiz stuff. I freaked and un/reinstalled Google enhanced search & moved the renamed the i500 Bing apk out of my system/apparently to my sd card. Long press worked before adequate update, double press works now to launch Google voice search.

Just tried it and same here weird. It will launch voice search if I press it once to search then long press again after that.

Glad to hear that i'm not the only one that noticed this. I'm almost 100% sure that everything was working correctly before an ADW update. I'm also 100% sure it's not just a DJ05 issue, my wife's Fascinate is on clean .4 and it has the same issue.
Long press on Search button working only after a Short press
This phenomenon happens to me, too.
Did anybody find and solution to this issue?
thank you

Home Not Working? WTF...

Ever since the latest update 9.2.1.21, shortly afterwards my Home is no longer working. The recent apps and back works fine but something's wrong with the stock launcher. Stock ICS 4.0.3 and rooted.
Anyone else having this problem? I'm really getting fed up with ICS. Honeycomb was working perfectly fine for me before. Ugh. Tried installing Go Launcher and still no go. When I press the home key, it just glows blue and does nothing. I can't leave apps to go to home. Nothing.
Backup your stuffs and try a factory reset.
I don't know. Try Home Manager or Home Switcher or one of those apps and see if they do anything for your case.
Do you have a dock? Does the hardware home button on the keyboard work?
Another possibility. Manage applications -> all apps -> select the launcher (perhaps it's called Asus launcher) and go to the uninstall/data screen. Remove the default option for launcher. The tap the home key and you should get a dialog asking you to select which launcher goes with home. Click the checkbox for default and select the launcher.

Perhaps this is one of the Android's trojan/malware/virus...etc.. ??
That sounds like a bad flash to me- try plugging your TF in the wall overnight and flash the same thing again. The 5V USB port on a computer is too weaksauce to get a real charge.

[Q] Ultra power save mode clears all icons from home screens

Has anyone loaded another launcher and enabled Ultra Power Save mode? I've loaded Google Now Launcher and when I enable and switch back, all my icons are gone from the home screen except email. Basically have to set everything back up again. Anyone seen this or have a resolution? Maybe I just have to switch back to TouchWiz if I ever want to enable it?
I have no problems using it with Next Launcher 3D.
That happened to me too as soon as I returned from Power Savings mode. All icons gone except a few like you said.
It works with other launchers but the Google Now Launcher.
Any ideas on how to fix it?
Just to know:
when y enable saving battery or ultra saving
the whole performance of phone decrease.
as responsive on callings
i told you cauze i forgot this morning that i switched on saving battery and calling responsive was awful
Had the same issues. I cannot use the power savings mode without having to add all widgets and shortcuts to my home screen. I even created screenshots of how they look like in case power savings is activated.
Any ideas on how to solve it?
i dont have any issue, try factory reset..maybe resolve yours prob?
Same issue for me. Googled the issue to find this thread, hoping for an answer. Sounds like a bug in Google launcher on galaxy tab S.
More research show problems with Google launcher on Samsung S5 as well using ultra power save mode. But Google launcher not "officially" supported on S5. Not sure if it is supported on Tab S...
2 years later and 3 phones laterl.. same issue
Bump in hopes someone has found a fix. Having the same issue with my galaxy on5, and it keeps deleting my themes. This is through the phone's theme setting no less
This fixed my s6

Go into Settings>Application Manager>Disabled Apps
Touch the "dot dot dot" at the top right and a drop down appears saying "Sort by size" and "Reset app preferences"
Touch "Reset app preferences" and it resets everything to default preferences.
It seems to have fixed my problem. It did not restore the apps on my home page to where I had them but that just means adding them from my apps menu again. I can use my apps as before and now I can update, install, and uninstall with Google Play again.

Keep getting asked to choose launcher default...

For some odd reason now my phone keeps asking me to choose between TW Home and TW Easy. I choose home and always, but every few minutes of using apps and such I get asked again when I hit the home button. I went in app manager and cleared the default and selected TW Home again, but it still happens.
Any ideas?
In case anyone has the app "Befunky" installed, it updated last night and was my problem. A photo app now acting as a launcher.

[Q] Launcher Troubles...

Hey guys. Just wanted to bring up an issue I have had with my phone. Anytime I install a new launcher I have the same issue. When pressing the "Home" button my phone constantly (80% of the time) asks me which launcher I want to use, Touchwiz or (currently) Aviate. Eventhough I select Aviate > Always. It still does this to me. Even if I uninstall the app it still pops up and asks "TouchWiz or TouchWiz Easy" and it continues to do this until I factory reset my phone. Which is a pain. Has anyone else had this issue?
Tried rebooting after selecting Always?

Are you downloading a launcher from the play store? You should be able to go into settings and set new as default or go to factory app manager and find Touchwiz home app in list and click it there u can clear defaults on it

I went into the Default Applications and set Aviate as default, hit home button, and the same issue... And yes I did get this from Play Store. But again, it's happened with any launcher I tried on JB and KK.
Seems to be working atm. I'll update you if it changes.
