Sense 3.5 uses more memory than sense 3.0. If virtuous unity only has like 100mb of free ram then sense 3.5 will have even less which will make our phones extremely slow. Other devices such as dhd can handle it better as the have more onboard ram

I agree. Pretty sure Sense 3.0 is pushing the limits of the G2/DZ hardware already. Not enough ROM, not enough RAM, and a 800mhz stock CPU.

But htc bliss is 800mhz and 512ram device. And i read sense 3.5 is even lighter and polished than sense 3.

Agree, uglier, too

I agree, getting this ported would be amazing! The Bliss does sport 512mb ram and an 800mhz single core processor. I believe this may be a great chance at Sense for our phones.

so we are waiting for the port then. Someone from Desire HD port thread said that it works smoother than sense 3.0.

This is actualy not true. Sense 3.0 on DHD is slower and uses more ram, as i've been checking it out on my dhd. Sense 3.5 seems to be lighter and smoother than anything else. I think 3.5 is an attempt from htc to make faster UI for more devices, since the sense 3.0 can only be originally supported by 3 devices. So, why should HTC stick to those 3 devices and stop supporting over 9000 older devices? And since Android Phones will now HAVE TO BE UPDATED with latest android for 18months since they hit the market, it is the logical move for HTC to make better, wider supported UI for more devices. Also, since 3.5 is official, u'll notice that app resizing will no longer be a problem since 3.5 detects everyhting by itself.
So, yet again, a smart move HTC did.
HTC Sense 3.5 = updated 3.0 UI for all HTC devices which will have more support and better performance
HTC Sense 3.0 = HTC UI for devices with at least dual core high end devices (HTC Sensation/EVO 3D/..)
Also, this 3.5 version is still testing-key version from HTC, so don't expect its the final release since theme is ugly and chicky. There is a theme on HTC Hub that is a bit better, but not fully supported yet. Still missing some changes in 3.5 feautures.
SIGNED!

porting would not hard to g2 because i port sometimes something from here to desire s and they work good with little issues.
i can help to port, if someone want to test it. just mail me msn adress and we can talk about..

I think it's not likely that HTC will make an update for older devices but us here making a port would be nice

has anyone tried "virtuous_unity-2.35.0.zip" g2 files to porting this rom. should work i think. here is tutorial for this

3.5 would be faster on our devices. im gunna make a port of it soon anyway.

RCMix3D_Bliss_v1.2 boots when you copy over files from unity (just the ones from \devices\vision except \devices\vision\system\lib\libui.so ) and adjust build.prop. But it lags a lot.

It's cool that it's working there, but any chance some one can port just the lockscreen so we can flash it on top of Virtuous? I need a rom that works 100%, thats a big reason on why I'm still using Virtuous.

Old G1 that I don't use anymore...
well no one has ported it yet theyre all working hard on the sensation rom, some say its not even possible to port it to sense 2.1 roms however i think that since the took it from a sense 2.1 rom it has to be possible...im also dying to have it on a stable rom but all we can do at the moment is wait

It is very unlikely that the lockscreen will be ported to sense 2.1. the version of sense which the cha cha rom runs is a version of sense 2.1 with the same style lockscreen as 3.0 the sense 3.0 lockscreen wasn't ported to it. So there may be a chance that the cha cha locksreen could be ported but the resoloution is all wrong and would need to be scaled up. Given the challanges involved in changing the resoloution I dobut any one would want to give it a go.

Yeah, that does make things more clear. The senseation rom would be awesome to have it it worked 100%. And im sure that when it's at that point I will use it.
well for those who want to try out sense 3.0 heres another port http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054412 its still not stable but its much more stable than the sensation port
It doesn't really look like the standard htc sense 3.0, but it did have the widgets.
Its tje expresso version of sense which is tmobiles sense or something like that, its ok it has the 3d animations and the cool lockscreen with the rings (except the 4 icons don't show up.... yet)

[Not officialy confirmed yet] HTC Sense 3.0 with Android 2.3.5 on HTC Desire HD

Hello everyone.
As many of you have already heard, Desire HD is getting an update of the "new" old Sense 3.0 with newest android 2.3.5 as our developers got its LEAK of an official system.
As many DHD users don't use costum roms and their DHDs are still chained in prison (not rooted) this may be a giant step up for their devices.
About the release, do you think its final? Will they port out what we already got on xda from our beloved hard-working developers?
When do you guys think we can expect that new stuff OTA?
Some youtube video of the new system: HERE
A lot of people still havent rooted their DHD? Where do you see those stats? Id be interested in giving that a look-see.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
well i dont know why they launching 3.0 sense to DHD if they already said that 3.5 sense is gonna be in old devices.. so why not jump to 3.5 sense better?
I have the ARHD 6.1, based on the last leak with sense 3.0. The Rom feels final, I mean everything work fine and the speed is increased over the previous Rom. I think they had spent more time to optimize sense 3.0 on single core and released it too close with sense 3.5 devices. The autor of the ARHD thread says that OTA will roll out in a month.
He also says that the surprises for dhd users aren't finished but I don't know what he mean.
Sorry for my bad English.

There are many out there that don't even know XDA, not a majority tho, but anyway, this update can make their phones kinda "new" again
like we get our "new" phone almost everytime we flash some new rom or something at least I get that feeling many times
PISS!
Is there any new info about "official sense 3.0 leak"? I'm so impatient about this new update. I hope so it will be available within this month via OTA.

I hope there will be an update and soon, my device isn't rooted(problems with goldcard) and i really want to upgrade.
In my opinion, desire hd will get Sense 3.5 too. It is much more smoother (for example Bliss port) and faster than 3.0 so why not?

Not saying that it will or won't, but the reason they might not is purely for marketing. Either way, as long as it is released on a device with a WVGA display, there shouldn't be any problems. That said, I think Sense 3.5 is a real disappointment, it doesn't have that unique HTC feel to it. I guess only time will tell...!
It would be nice to have it but i don't think it's needed. Well for me anyway since i use go launcher. Don't care if they stop updating Sense, its when they stop updating Android that i will have to root my phone and use up to date ROMs. Not need for the root until then.
Not officialy confirmed because the leak version is only a test build... Maybe we wait more time to have an final release ruu

HOPE for a Sense 3.0 or 3.5 update for the shift offically. MAYBE

http://goo.gl/63JIE
This is an article (via. AndroidGuys) that states the Incredible S and Desire HD are getting their updates to sense 3.0 officially.
Now, I know this isn't our phones specifically, but could this be a sign of HTC stepping up?
The Desire HD, as far as I know, has the same processor as the Shift but has 768 MB of RAM instead of the shifts 512 MB.
Maybe this is just wishful thinking but maybe we might see an official sense upgrade sometime early next year.
I know that we will get ICS, and we have sense 3.0 anyway because of the amazing development on XDA, but it IS always nice to have an official update.
What do you think?
That would be awesome to get either one cause with an official update that means more development for our shift and the expect life of the shift will keep me over for well over another year

Nah, I highly doubt an official sense 3 upgrade. Amanda the cpu's aren't the same, Im pretty sure its the same as the g2. And the extra 256mbs of ram does make a bit of a difference. Sense 3 on my dhd was a lot faster then on my g2 both @1.5ghz. And as for official ics, maybe. It has the specs to run it well enough for an official.

ICS with sense

Hello guys i am new here so excuse me if someone already wrote something about this.
is there any ice cream sandwitch rom with latest htc sense?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
None yet and there may not ever be. There will not be any drivers to hack to make it work as GB only got better because of the Desire source code. Note since that service will not see any more updates then we are out of luck.
Now someone may find a way but for now it's unlikely
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using XDA App
Actually, there will definitely be a ICS ROM with sense. But you will have to wait. The reason being, HTC will launch new devices come this Q2 and Sense 4.0 is slated to be running on those devices. Such devices include the Ville, Edge, etc. So when those devices are released at the upcoming GSMA WMC on 27th February. You can expect a port a few days after that since there is bound to be someone posting the dump files and source code. This is how our sense 2.0 and 3.0 ROMs came about on our HD2s and its the only way. Custom building a ICS and Sense ROM from scratch is no easy task and like what chrisrj28 said above, it might not be possible for the devs.

It's good news, cant wait
I hope we must wait a little more, but for me, there are too many ICS roms without Sense in XDA.
I like Sense, so I prefer to wait as long as necessary, instead of install ics non sense plenty of bugs.
If I bought an HTC, I like to watch Sense in the screen, if not, I can have another device, Samsung, LG, Motorola.....
ICS without sense better then 2.3 with sense.

I think the biggest issue is a kernel to boot the sense ICS, and there is no doubt HD2 will be running sense ICS
On Sensation already..
I think we should request some of the HD2 chief chefs need to come together for us... it is here now on Sensation, working .

IMHO hd2 can't stand ics with sense...too heavy!....that's for quad-core devices!! the 2.3 sense is too much for our "old" hardware, too....
even if our fantastic hd2 is the best phone in the world, his hardware is going to be old...I think that it's arrived at the end of its possibilities with ics...

Yeah initial hands on show that Sense 4.0/ICS do not perform as well as the big phones but it is adequate enough. And that is without the mods and customizations that Devs here are capable of.
The biggest issue will be drivers

Currently I find very good sense 3.5 (Rom Smartdroid 3.2) but as soon as there will be a sense 4.0 stable I want to change the rom and use that for everyday (I saw previw on HTC One and I think it is really nice)
I've used sense 2.0, 2.1, 3.0 and now 3.5 on RunnyDroid.
IMO, 3.5 tops it.
It's the little things like in the app drawer how the three icons at the bottom for all apps, frequent and downloaded are evenly spread across the screen; that wallpapers can be cropped in portrait mode; that you can remove home screen panels if you don't use them
Probs loads more stuff too.
