whenever i open this phone.apk apps it shows the contact first and not the dialer.
how to change this option!
I had the very same "issue"
Go to Preferences, scroll to the end, and you'll see default tab option. You can choose there.

I just installed GDE, wanna give it a try before commiting on it.
Now when I press on the "Home" touch-button it will ask which launcher I wanna use. Kinda annoying.
Of course I can choose to use GDE as default, but before I figure out how to restore to default launcher, I don't wanna do it.
So, any hint for that?
If you choose this app as default fine. If you ever want to get the default launcher back go to settings, applications, manage applications then find the launcher app you are using in the list. Then stroll down page to the clear defaults tab.
Hi guys,
i have been using default tab home and i want to try other wonderful homes like go launcher and launcher pro.
Could you tell me what do i need to do in order to replace home and once i install new home does it mean it would overwrite my existing home and i would not be able to revert it back to tab default home. Do i need to root my device?

download launcher pro from market
also try ADW launcher
No, you don't need root.
When you dowload it from the Marketplace, the next time you hit your home key your phone will throw up a list of all the installed Launcher/Home applications asking you to choose which one you want to use. At the bottom will be a checkbox asking if you want to "always" use the application you choose.
If you check the always box and later become unsatisfied with that launcher and want to go back to the old one, you can either download something like "Home Switcher" from the Marketplace, or go into Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications and find your current launcher (the one you last chose to "always" use). Click on the clear defaults button on its page and next time you hit home you'll be presented with the choices again.
Thanks a lot for such a nice reply. I am starting with launcher pro now. Do you have any preferred list of homes?

Panda home is an interesting one to try.
I use ADW Ex myself. I have not used Launcher Pro in months, and never on the tab so I can't speak to its stability or usefulness, but both ADW and Ex have been very good to me on the tab (I like the added features and snappiness of the paid version).
trying out Zeam right now, seems simple and clean. like the swipe to launch feature
For anybody looking for function rather than form, try *Spark. Its in the market

Just quick one,
when i goto settings and hit personalize, it goes back to hte home screen.
stock everything, minus launcher pro!
so basically cant goto the personalized menu at all!
didnt have a problem with this when i used the sense UI.
whats the deal?
kind regards
its pretty simple, launcher pro overrides the sense ui, so you can't use/change anything related to sense ui unless you disable launcher pro.
If you want to customise launcher pro , press Menu, then Preferences
Launcher Pro is great but Go Launcher is by far the best. Its a great mix of ADW and L.P. fully customizable. Just like he said hit menu then prefrences.

Hi!
I had the same problem with Contacts when I changed theme. I did have it in the App Drawer though and it worked from there. Do you have your Dialer in your App Drawer? If so, then you should go to wipe TWLaunchers data from the app management. It did the trick for me and put all the tabs back to the launcher.

Was just sitting around looking for the same thing? Used it to have direct links to my Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings.
found a work around for this...
Things you'll need.
1. Photos of the settings widget you'd like to add to your home screen. ( You might not need this depending on what setting or settings your wanting to use.)
2. Apex launcher.
3. Desktop visualizer.
After installing both applications open desktop visualizer and proceed loading the setting image that you'd like.
Once done you'll be prompted to select an action you'd like to correspond with the image. Select other then select apex actions, should be at the top of the list.
Scroll all the way down to the S category and select settings, should read 247 options, if not your at the wrong settings.
Select your desired function and your all set.
You can uninstall both applications. This won't effect any functionality.
Hope this helps and drop me line if it does.
.....
I am looking for this and I guess my question to you sherrouse is, why do I need photos and desktop visualizer? Can't Apex Launcher add a widget for any setting I want with some stock images and just work?

Unfortunately, I don't think apex launcher can create widgets that can be utilized by Touch wiz home. However the process might work if you intend to replace T.w home with apex as you daily launcher...

Just tried quickshortcut. It works pretty darn good. Created a location setting shortcut just like I wanted.
Thanks.
