[Q] Restore contacts from sd to nand? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I just went from ACA sd to ACA NAND (cLK).
After the first boot, titanium backup perfectly restored all my contacts to NAND.
But after the second boot, there are only two contacts left...
I tried to restore again with titanium backup, but it failed. (only data, as well as data & app)
Is there any way to grab the file with my contacts from my sd android folder and put it into the NAND?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you!!!

You could use the sync option with Gmail or just backup your contacts to the sdcard with the implemented function when you open the menu when you are in your contacts.

To be more specific, i'm away from home for the next 2 weeks.
Yesterday I went from ACA sd to ACA NAND.
Initially the sync / restore of all of my contacts via titanium backup went fine.
After rebooting, only 2 contacts were left.
I never did a sync with Google, maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but I don't want them to know everything...
So, left with no possibility to sync with my computer at home, BUT knowing, that all my contacts are still on my sd-card in the old android folder, I wonder, if there's a way to transfer them from their present location to the place where they should be in NAND...
Any ideas anybody?

[Q] wp7 full backup?

right now, I am quite satisfied with wp7. although changing android roms with titanium backup is easy, is there a way to backup my wp7 rom? probably the whole nand, like nandroid for example? having to reactivate, resync, reunlock and reinstall is a troublesome process....in short, i just want to restore my phone the way it was if i go back to android... anyone?
I've asked this question too and no one responded. Have you found anything?
Unfortunately no. Maybe after the kitchen tools are released? IF they are ever released.... :/
Hey. It's kind of a late response, but I figured out that if I take out my SD card and boot WP7, it booted like it was a new install (no contacts, messages, account info, programs) but when I put my SD card back in, it booted normally. So, I guess all of the info is stored on the SD. So, I think it is possible to create a back up of the encrypted SD card with EASEUS partition manager, and that back up will hold an exact copy of what your phone used to be. So I assume that one could play around with Android roms, and then flash the same WP7 roms and restore the back up on the SD and be set. It's just a theory.

Hmmmm...interesting point. I'll have to try that when NODO/MANGO or whatever is released and see what happens. Worst that can happen is I resync as I would have normally in the first place. Thanks for the info.

[Q] How to backup WP7 Short Messages. MS Myphone Service not Working.

Hi all,
Since MS Myphone service is not working with WP7 for backing up the short messages, is there any way or a software to backup all contacts, SMS, and others. Most importantly SMS. How can I get a backup for SMS messages.??
Thanks a lot for any advice in advance..
Does anybody know where the sms are stored in file system? If we knew this maybe we could just backup those files via Touchxperience file explorer (Beta).
I posted in another thread about this, because I was also looking for a way to backup my messages. I didn't really find a "real" way. But what I found is, in my opinion, better than nothing. I like to keep my SMSs for sentimental reasons, so if you only want to be able to read them again in the future, I have a theory of how to do so. I took my SD card out of my HD2 and booted WP7, all of my contacts, messages, account info, was gone. I put the SD back in and it was all back to normal. So, I assume that if you back up your SD card with EASEUS partition manager (I think there is a tutorial on this in the dual booting android and wp7 thread) you can keep the backup on your computer and save it for later. I haven't actually tried this, but because nobody seems to be working on this, I thought it might be worth mentioning.

It's true.
Works fine for me. I use it to backup apps, however.
Good post. It never hurts to do a backup. But it doesn't help when you upgrade the build, all messages etc will be lost.
Edit; Looked at easeus partition manager and it seemed that the only way to copy a disk partition is to create a new partition on your hard disk, thus erasing the whole hard disk! How do you do it Domenukk?
Also I may be wrong about losing all data when upgrading eg to nodo. If this is possible to do a backup, after upgrading the ROM the backed up sdcard could be re-inserted, it might work! Dont know
Edit 2; found thread titled "[Q] Backing up or Imaging SD card partitions" which explains how to backup to hard disk using ease-us. Another poster suggests using a usb stick or external hard drive instead of precious internal one.
a while ago there were rumurs of Myphone for WP7
http://wmpoweruser.com/my-phone-for-windows-phone-7-pictured/
Has there been any updates?
Right now this is the only thing that is preventiong me from making my HD2 with WP7 my main phone.
you could use "copy and paste" to copy each sms message to Office, then put the file in Dropbox and retrieve on your laptop.
I have tried this and only the message gets copied, not the sender or date/time. you would have to add this for every text in Office
It is useful though for important stuff.
If you download apps via Zune to your phone, they are remembered when you change your ROM, though doesn't work for XApps.
Contacts- saved to sim or synched via windows live account.
Come on thebranded, dive in
hi, its going to be stored somewhere, i backup my programs data files, even after a reflash and upgrade i can use the backups to restore the data for the apps, works great for things like petrol usage, fitness programs etc
anyhow, the SMS files must be located somewhere on the card as well, why dont we get to gether, get a sms message and record the time stamp, turn off the phone and then search the phone looking for files edited at that time stamp
i thnk you can just use zune and sync it

as i said, it doesnt backup SMS messages. If you were about to update the device it would do it, but we cant, and we probably shouldnt even if we could.

I don't know if this has been answered but...

How can I transfer apps from one android folder to another? I don't know how to explain this but suppose I wanna switch from SD to NAND, how can I transfer all my information and apps I've downloaded on SD to NAND? Sorry if this has been answered before.
You can use Titanium Backup to back up and restore your apps, another backup/restore program I've heard good things about is My Backup, but I've never used it myself. I don't think you'll be able to do the equivalent of a NANDroid backup where everything is restored just as you left it, you'll probably have to set some stuff back up, such as email accounts, homescreen layouts, etc. but at least you won't have to search the market for each app and lose your app data.

^ Thanks A lot. I'll give it a try .

[Q] Does Task 29 really wipe everything?

I recently flashed the same rom again because it was exhibiting some stange behaviour that was different to an identical phone with the same rom.
I removed the sim card, performed a task 29 wipe, believing that this wipes everything. I also pulled the sd card and placed it into an adapter and full formatted the card in my PC. Then after the flash I wiped the cache, delvik cache, user data and formatted the EXT partition that I created.
Once the new rom had fired up I went into my contacts and they were all there right down to the dedicated ringtone names for some contacts and the groups of contacts such as Family and Friends with contacts in each group. Has anyone else encountered this?
So, if Task 29 does not completely wipe the Nand memory, what does? Would a more thorough way be to flash a stock rom again then followed by the steps detailed above?
Any Tech heads care to enlighten me as how to completely start from scratch if you want to flash a new rom without leaving any data behind?
Cheers
Aren't contacts linked to your gmail account? like calendar. When you save an event, wipe your phone, relink your account you will find your events back as before.
I am not sure, maybe this is the cause because Google also saves contact's preferences.
Yea as post 2 says, chances are they were restored when you linked your Gmail account. But also isn't there a backup/restore option too? I seem to remember something like "do you want to backup this phone online " or similar during first boot last time I flashed,, I chose no, so not sure what it does.
I can confirm what Marvlesz refered.
My DesireHD ALWAYS pucks the same ringtone, on diferent roms (though always with a sense version) if the mp3/music file is on the same place in the SD.
Those settings are backed up to google
Yeah, I think your right, installed a rom on my other HD2 and unchecked the google account boxes and when I went into contacts it was empty and asked me if I wanted to set it up.
Thanks for the replies.

SD marked as damaged and must format at every reboot after restore! :(

So, everything was looking fine:
as sai no more gost touch with TWRP for magisk,BUT keeping stock B13.
I try to restore a backup from my primary phone with "My [email protected] Pro" but A LOT of data were not recovered and some apps crashed when I try to open it, even clearing cache.
SO I format, restored the apps by google playstore choosing my primary phone for the app list and then recovered wit "My [email protected] Pro" only the DATA (I have 198 apps, some with home banking or other settings that I have no time to restore one by one).
Now apps works fine (almost 9'% of them) BUT
everytime I reboot the phone says micro sd is corrupted/damaged and need to format it.
I try 4 micro SD of various size, I even try to make it adoptable with root thools, bu nothing.
I googled and I found almost nothing, just one on samsung board that fixed it formatting the SD with PC (and I try...nothing changed).
Now,the only thing that I have to try is to format again, restore the app by google account and try with Titanium backup (that on my LG G5 doen't works since a year or more ago...).
Someone has the same problem or suggestion?
Thank you very much <3
