I keep going between two different Roms ... One being Sense and the other being Yoshi ... Wondering if there is something I can flash so I can easily swap between roms without backing up and reflashing the other rom.

No. You must jump through the same hoops as the rest of us.

If I want to update to the 3.2 version can I just flash the ROM? I'm running on the 3.1 MTD version, I don't have to wipe anything, of delete my ext partitions? I also don't have to use that FR remove thing to get rid of the MTD?

You shouldn't have to wipe anything.
and the only time you need to flash fr-remove is when you want to remorse custom mtd. (Such as changing roms. Or if you wanted to use the no-mtd version.)
I felt like I needed a signature.... here it is
Ah okay so its alright if I just flash the 3.2 version? I won't lose my data or anything?

Yep. You should probably make a backup first tho.

I have the STOCKED rom and still have sense 1.0 on my evo.

How can i upgrade my sense version to 2.1 or 3.0 or above?
please help - i do not want to wipe any data if i can avoid it
If you're rooted then here's a 2.1 with some 3.0 features. I personally use it and its phenomenal.
If you aren't rooted though..you cannot update your sense software without buying a new device. That's why many people root in order to take control of their phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038967
Here's a full 3.0 ROM. Try them out.. FULL WIPE is required in order to flash both of them. Use titanium backup to save your data. It's a lame process but whatever its worth it.

You will have to flash a custom ROM. Are you rooted? Because you will have to be rooted and have a custom recovery. Then you can flash a custom ROM with the newer Sense versions.
You can retain apps and data with Titanium Backup

Root then you can go all the way to 3.5 if you wanna .. which to me is the smoothest running of the sence roms 3.0 does not really like our evos LOL

I just started flashing ROMs to my phone and I do want to have the ability to run ROMS that have the sense UI. Every time I flash one, all these processes start crashing one after the other. I can never get to the homescreen. :/ Also, I LOVE the way the MIUI ROMs look, but this one process crashes every 5 seconds or so and it really gets in the way of using the phone. Is there a fix for this?
What recovery are you using and what version? Also, are verifying the ROM's MD5 before flashing?
Looks like a failed eMMC or a bad download. It successfully flashes in CWM though?

I thought about failed eMMC, but didn't think the ROM would flash or boot at all in that case. It's possible though.
have you verified the md5 sum?
done a full wipe?
Are you flashing the rom by itself or are you flashing anything else with the rom simultaniously before booting up? Like a theme, mod or kernel. Is always best flashing the rom alone, booting up, doing a nandroid and then flash anything else on top.

Are processes crashing before you get the to the GUI, before setup is complete, or after setup is complete?
Incidentally, MIUI is not a Sense ROM and is part of the AOSP/CM family. It sounds like you have a problem that extends to both types.

This is the reason why I asked the op if they boot up the flashed rom before flashing anything else.

I was wondering if the OP has got some bad apps that get installed by the Market on every ROM that is flashed.
I solved my MIUI problem by wiping everything before I installed.

You're supposed to wipe everything before you flash any ROM...
I now know that... I didn't have that issue with CM7, Which was my first ROM. Saved me from having to reinstall apps and restore info

Help?

This page should have all your answers. If you're looking to use sense ROMs, I recommend changing to the DZ hboot as it is necessary to run newer Sense ROMs (3+ i think).

Assuming you know adb well...
Yes, you have to downgrade it first then root it. I suggest you using these guides here at cyanogen for downgrade and root
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/TMobile_G2:_Firmware_Downgrade_(Gingerbread)
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/TMobile_G2:_Rooting
Reason: The web page it self is a heck shorter than the one at XDA.
Just please click the thing it read it, it's short.
Once you have done these things you should have rooted Froyo with CWM Recovery 3. While it's an adequate version I suggest you update it first (Play Market to the rescue) then do an Nandroid backup, just in case.
One thing you need to know: When you're in CWM Recovery, you need to press the trackpad to select options.
Now you have to get a Desire Z Hboot. I recommend this guide
http://www.virtuousrom.com/2011/06/t-mobile-g2-users-migrating-to-desirez.html
Once you have the Desire Z Hboot, you can use Sense ROMs. Stable ROMs would be any GB ROMs (the Desire Z/ G2 is pretty well-supported here), like this one

Hope this helps.
Thank u very muuch. Ill be doing this in an hour. And are there any other sense roms??
