... Did you not read before you posted??? YOU CANT ROOT the official ota froyo yet.
but how to downgrade the official ota
You cant downgrade.
Just a suggestion, learn to put proper titles while posting threads. I for one certainly didn't 'enjoy' reading your thread.

I second that!
Very misleading title.
Lol @ this pointless thread
Thread title modified to represent what it truly is.

Root!!!

To to let everyone know who doesn't follow the dev thread, we now have root!
Big thanks to all the devs!!!
Really??? Do you mean it???? Let me check if its 1st April today? No
Thank you so much... Such a great news heading to Dev thread now
yes its real, link to devthread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042978
We now have two threads in the dev section about rooting - one is a ~40 page discussion which eventually brought about a successful exploit, the other is a how-to.
With that in mind, this thread seems kinda unnecessary

[Q] Help please!!! Rooting problems

I know there are a lot of post on this but can not find the help I need. I am trying to root my Acer Iconia A500. 3.1 Version. I have the gingerbreak v-1.2.apk, formatted Micro-sdcard to FAT 32, it is mounted card. When I try to root it, it will not root. It stays on the same installation screen forever, after 20-30 minutes I exit out of it. Can someone please help me get through this process.
Sure.
Head over to the dev section - in a nutshell, you are using a root utility for Android 3.0.1 on your copy of 3.1 - this won't work. You need the Iconia root apk.
Also; you posted in the wrong section. Questions belong in the q&a section. Use it in the future and you'll get a quicker response.
One more tip: search the forum before posting a new thread. Your question has been answered in literally dozens of threads.
Best of luck!

Thank you so much. I am new to all this and I know now if I have further questions where to go. I was searching forever to figure this out and it is now rooted. Thanks again.

Link to a root/decryption/unlock bootloader and flash rom guide?

As the title says, could someone link me to a thread that shows me those things? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Did you really not even look in any of the forum areas for this device?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206928
No more need be said.
I did previously, but I was rushed for time and so decided to post this so that when I need it later it is ready.
Thank you for doing it though, I appreciate it
Its stickied right at the top of the general section. In all the device forums there will be extremely useful threads stickied at the top of each section. You can tell it's stickied by the TAC icon on the right.
Had you actually looked you should have found my guide very easily.
