I there,
Before everything, I'd like you to know that I'm French, and my English probably sucks. I really do my best to do not hurt your beautiful language too much, but if I do, please forgive me.
So, I would like to find a very fast Android Nand rom for a HD2, something that won't lag, if possible with Sense but it's no big deal if I don't have Sense. I'd like something stable, not old, and light. The minimum is the best for me ; minimum apps (don't need facebook, twitter, Youtube, themes... etc). Oh, and I can't use MIUI based, it never worked fine on my phone. Of course, as I am French, it would be nice with multilangue support.
Any advice?
Thank you very much for your help.
I would recommend the following..
Stock: NexusHD2
Sense: Skink Clean Desire HD2 (Install 1.2 then update to 1.3. 1.4 has a bug and cant remember what though.

Your English is fine, but there are several French members in the forum you could poll. I use the SD version and it kicks ass!
I'm running NexusHD2-Gingerbread and I'm loving its performance! It only requires 135M partition!

It looks really good for the moment.
Is it possible to add Sense in it?

Hey all!
Is it at ALL possible to either flash the ROM from the Touch Pro II or find a way to install Windows Mobile 6.0 or 6.1 onto the HTC HD2? I NEED stability in my ROM and this is what I really want to try.
I know I've been asking a lot of questions on this site regarding this phone, but I want you all to know I truly value your answers and your help.
Thank you guys!
Well have you tried the ROMs that are known to be stable? Theres quite a few..
Also maybe try titanium (windows default) if you're looking for simple, basic stability.
I have. I've tried four or five and they just get to be too slow. I like the Windows Mobile 6.5.5 builds but they just get to be laggy at times, and for a phone with a 1GHz processor I'd expect a whole lot more.
I don't know, I was just wondering what 6.0 or 6.1 would operate like on the HD2. That or find SOMETHING that's very quick and very stable.
Try Dutty's cdlc or UnOff.. What are you using the phone for? (work, eye-candy, both?)
I'm not sure about 6.1, can't see why anyone would want that on this device.
BTW, nice location just a few miles away from me..
Oh WOW! You ARE close to me! Haha, 253! Neat
I really want to use it for multimedia and texting first and foremost. After that I really just want to use it for internet browsing and photo uploading. Well, MMS capabilities are a must too.
After messing around with the ROMs I did, I jusst started to panic about making the wrong choice on the phone. I had hoped I didn't, however I want to take FULL advantage of the processor speed and the RAM. Definitely. Problem is, nothing works! AGH!
I'm currently using UnOff... and texting is still god-awful.
Have you tried Swype? Its a dream to work with once you get to know it. In fact, the reccord for txting was recently broken with Swype! I use Energy rom (The "unstable" 6.5.5 ver) and I do need to reboot the phone about once a week, but thats still a LOT less then my 6.1 Tilt. You really REALLY dont want to go back too 6.1, trust me. The OS does not have a lot of features needed for good use of the hardware in the HD2.
P.S. Woodinville and work in Redmond. Seattlites stick togeather!

Yeah UnOff is a good ROM, you could also try Laurentius26ROMs
SUP SUP WASHINGTONIANS!
Anyways, try the Omega XT Roms, indie updates them constantly and they are pretty good.
Oh wow, look at all of us Washingtonians here! WOW!
I'll try the UnOFF ROM again, or even an Energy ROM. I just want this to work and I'm sure you all understand why
Thank you guys for all your help! I'll let you all know what happens.
I would suggest either the Miri 17.6 rom which is very stable and fast and has great eye candy or VBN rom series. I currently running VBN and it's great. Very stable, no crashes, fast. I think you would like either one of them. They are both located on the Euro HD2 rom side, not the TMOUS HD2. Both are compatible with 576 ram and 1gig storage. Check them out.
try kwbr Roms ... I am on 4.0.1 version
Stock like ROMs
CruzerHD rom
What you are looking for is the CruzerHD rom my friend. Super fast, stable, and very very slim on memory (only 35mb used after flash).
Rom is not about eye candy but about speed/performance. You add what you want yourself.
CruzerHD premium rom v.9
Wow, guys, it looks like I have quite a bit of ROMs to try out! I really appreciate your time, y'all rock it!
try kwbr at htpedia.com
com2 version 21914 htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1692&page=102
I've tried them ALL! THIS ONE IS STABLE. period.
wow! there are a lot of washingtonians here! my mom and sister were born in WA, and i lived in Lacey for most of my grade school years. I almost became a Husky but decided i'd rather do grad school there and hopefully work for MS someday... Thats the dream anyways...
But, back on topic. I dont believe 6.0/1 is possible because the HD2's HAL is not compatible with with any 6.0 devices. basically, you'd have to re-write all the drivers in the Hardware Abstraction Layer so that they can talk with the 6.0 ROM. its the same reason WinPhone7 will probably never make it to our phones. ya see, there are no "generic" drivers for phones. thats why only phone with similar hardware can share ROMs.
i say use kumars ROM. its my personal fav
Man I know how OP feels, I was looking for a ROM & flashed Energy & it works like a dream! But now that I have Froyo 2.2 on here I hardly ever switch off of Android. It totally lives up to the hype!
Yeah WA!
I feel that a lot of the custom Roms have too much, well, customization. What you need is the barebones. Check this one out. Been using it since June and I have't had any slowdowns yet.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=656835
And yes it was designed to work on the Tmous handset even though it's on the International handset forum. Works on both.
hi,
i used the search function, but i doesn't find anything.
can anyone tell me which Android Rom is the best for HD2?
i think here are many people who has much experience with different Rom's and maybe they can tell me which one is the best?
sy, Gurry
He, he search function won't help.
Do you want it to run from SDcard or NAND or RAM?
Do you want it to have sense?
Are you looking for a Froyo build or a gingerbread build?
anyway, I use this one and like it:
[Dec 30][RAM] darkstone SuperRAM Sense v0.1 [kernel: Hastarin EB]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892797
Oh yes! XDA sells pancakes too. But I'm not sure which is the best one. LOL.
sorry for being sarcastic. But the "BEST" Android ROM is the one which YOU - yes "you", and only you - will find out by yourself.
Start reading, start flashing, and share us your thoughts.
Thread reported.
I understand what you mean. hey guys he wants your opinion on what you think is the best rom. it will most certanly help narrow down the long list. i personally think the NexusHD2-FRG83D_V1.7__Froyo_2.2.1_ is the best Froyo rom i have used. plus its SD which is easy. but im currently using a Cyanogen mod 7 gingerbread that im just not happy with cause i cant use the stock gingerbread launcher and im stuck with Launcher pro.. but i cant stand the "find out for yourself" answers.. lets hear some opinions here!
IMO, the Nexus Gingerbread NAND build by tytung is the best. VERY stable, very fast.

First and foremost READ READ READ before you decide and make sure of a few things.
1. Compatible with your device
2. You understand how to install it properly
3. You read the last 15 pages of the thread for current issues as well as the very first page posted by the cook.
This is just a matter of opinion because ROMS are more personal than "Best/Worst". They all have a certain personality to them so technically there is no "best" and the Kernel itself has a lot to do with how a ROM will perform.
I would say to ME the best ROM for HD2 is the HyperDroidGBX in NAND development. Small, ridiculously fast, great battery, very few things not working 100%, and not loaded with any kind of extra apps. Link in my SIG.
For me the dansiest rom is the best. Fast and stable. HTC sense works fine. Until i didn't find something that won't work. The development of the rom, updates and fixes is very fast.

In my experience Pongster's Hyperdroid(non-sense) is the best NAND ROM.
(next best was MDJ 2.6 but is no longer available)
Normally HTC sense rom will have a higher battery drain in comparison
I use this SD ROM: AmericanAndroid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652
It works fine for me, has a low battery usage ...
The HD2 is not mine (company) so I dont want to to flash a NAND ROM.
I've installed CleanDroid 2.55 and I like it!

i am just wanting to know if anyone knows a really good rom for my htc hd2(tmobile) i have tried quite a lot of them but still not to impressed by them? please helpa
Avoid asking about the best if you can. As for a ROM you may like try AmeriCanAndroid. It's a CM7 port that Copenhagen and I work on. I'm a TMo person too btw.

If you are looking for the most stable and fast rom, try tytung Gingerbread v2.9. Many will tell you that it is simply the best andriod rom out there.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
This is kinda like asking what do you prefer crunchy or creamy peanut butter...your bound to get many different responces. lol.
Check out this site. It lists almost all the nand android ROMs found here on XDA in a place thats much easier to find it.
AmeriCanAndroid is a great ROM and its updated often so thats always a good starting point. if your one that prefers HTC sense then maybe try out RAFDROID HD. i've personally found this ROM very fast and stable. If you like more of a iphone type feel then try a miui ROM out. i would suggest LADY MIUI or D4RK MIUI.
There really is no one best ROM, i think anyway. This is because everyone has their phone set up slightly different and also want different things on their cell. just try out a few ROMs intill you find something you want to stick with for a little bit of time and see how it goes. It took me several months to settle on a ROM because i always wanted to flash every new ROM that came out. lol.
I tried Miui, Sense and cynogen based roms; Miui has the best home applications like the camera app, phone app, etc. The fastest (real difference), with lots of tweaks and the best baterry for me is Dorimanx High end rom, although some of his builds are not stable because he is always updating his rom. Im using dorimanx rom right now, although im waiting to see if Hyperdroid is updated wich is another excellent rom.
Hello,
I tried BoyPPC ROMs and it's quite fast, stable and regularly updated so it seems well followed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1199917
But I agree with previous comments that it depends on your configuration and your needs. each one has pros and cons and you should just test the one that best fits to your needs.
Since Feb I'm using AmeriCanAndroid (well, cope's sd rom at that time, before he and warrenb started together AmeriCanAndroid). Haven't changed to anything else since then. Have switched to the nand version since 2-3 weeks and I'm happy with it.
Pyramid
I tested many Roms.
Because I like that HTC stuff, I searched a long time for a stable Sense 3 ROM.
This ROM is amazing and works verry well and smooth:
Pyramid HTC WWE 1.35.401.1 - Real 3D [V2.2][RAF 1.9GB]
Iv been trying to get that one for awhile but is not working

Just be careful, flashing too many rom and too often may lead to bad blocks on your phone. Have fun and good luck.

Actually if you want stable and fully working and also customized rom its definatly the CoreDroid, but look only for froyo rom couse GB have graphic glithes and camcorder lag, hope devs will fix it soon! This rom is the very fast and fully customized! Im using ext4 1Gb partition and its very smooth. Try it)

Hey,
So I switched to another phone like 4months ago and now my father wants to have my HD2, so I need a really stable rom.
Im not really informed on what is there for the hd2 at the moment, so I thought I just ask.
I dont need a rom thats fast, well it shouldnt be too slow but it should be really bug free and stable so that he does not run into any problems.
Any suggestions?

Normally I would flame you for asking a stupid and over-asked question, but since I'm in a nice mood I'll tell you to stick to MIUI and CM7 ROMs, ICS is slow, Sense is (in my opinion) slower than other ROMs and there really isn't any point in using anything else. Try some of the SD versions of all the ROMs (you may like Sense as well) and you will find the right one. I personally use Typhoon CM7
Oh and in future, if you ever feel like 'just asking' in the future, ask the search bar first

I can also +1 on the passing on flaming, also Typhoon is a great GB rom
Make that 3 for 3 on wanting to torch the poor guy ...
I do, however, agree ... Try either Typhoon or (imo) Hyperdroid ... Not much (if anything missing, not working, or otherwise not good) in these roms. Both great builds!!!
I tried any kind of rom.
sense is not heavy like they say, and is still the best rom...
miui IMO is the best rom for hd2, light, faster than cm7 and sense, now is bug free...miui is my suggestion
Miui.... Hyperdroid... Cm7 I recently got my hd back from the jtag service, which was great..... and im running miui right now .... have tried all three of these though A sense rom set up properly can be pretty fast though
Hi
give Haldric v3 a chance, it's the best rom next to stock.

Agree. +1. Very nice and stable ROM
I've had good experience with the Typhoon CM7 ROM and the DorimanxROM (although this one is a bit harder to install if you want to have the high-performance version).
It seems that MIUI is worth a shot as well, but I personally never tried it.
As already mentioned, just try some different SD card versions and when you find one that you like, finally flash a NAND version of it.
Hello everyone. I know that i will get some asnwers like ,, use search,, etc. But i will ask here.
Well, i need a rom for my HD2 ( NAND) .
I tried a lot of roms, but i didnt found one yet that is good for me.
First of all i want a rom that doesnt uses a lot of memory, i want to have as much as possible free memory.
To be stable and fast, not laggy. I dont care about the estetics too much. i was using the cm7ite dark edition rom , but with it i had problems with skype, instagram and some more apps.
What rom do you suggest?

So, you know you're going to get flamed for not searching, and yet rather than searching you post it here? *sigh* Your reasoning is so poor.
Anyway, the best would be a CM7 or MIUI (although probably CM) ROM which eats little RAM. Dunno about Instagram, but a fair amount of peoples can't get Skype working on most ROMs.
Hello community,
I also kinda have the same question... I am currently thinking about which ROM I will install on my HD2 for daily use.
I will also only use NativeSD ROMs, as I have a very good SD Card, so my favourites are:
NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 V1.1 by tytung
PACman HD2 v1.1 by Xylo
Fastest ICS ever by mr-evil1 or tytungs ICS ROM
So actually I have already tested out tytungs JB ROM but it has some bugs, so for example I was aswering a call and as I pressed the accept button there was just a brrrrrrrrrrrrrr and after 10 secs it said that "phone is not responding" (or something like that). Which I disliked very much. Also Maps is kinda always zooming out, seems buggy with the touch. I did a fresh install btw/ofc
So I heard of some people really enjoying Xylos JB ROM. It is still in beta but it seems to work just fine.
Last but not least, whats with the good old ICS? Whats with stability there?
Actually it would be nice if someone could post experiences and recommendations.
