I use my laptop as a wifi hotspot. After install [TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.6.2] my HD2 cannot connect to it. Somebody help ?

yes but i cannot connect to it. it not even show "connecting ..." after click on connect to my hot spot
sometimes you must unlock something in your router, or try to change wifi options in advanced, i dont remember how it was named but it was like you were choosing 11,12,13 streams, i think it was in advanced wifi options, but i remember i had the same problem on this rom with wifi, nothing just happens ;/ but now my wifi working fine all the time on coredroid (its not a advertistment )

The obvious.. In the advanced wifi settings on the phone, start by making sure it's set to show both AP and ad-hoc.

I have a similar issue, i don't see any wifi networks in my list but when i look on my laptop or my other phone there are plenty of wifi networks around. Would anyone know what i need to select as my adapter under the Configure Network Adapters... or anything else that might solve my issues?

well i've got the same problem,my us hd2 can't find wi-fi networks, i guess that happened after upgrading rom to 3.14.531.1, but i'm not sure. i try it at my work where signal is very good,also at home, and at my friens home where wi-fi is working for sure and still my phone doesn't see anything. please help (
Hey there! I just got my new HD2 (T-mobile) for XMAS. But I have a problem. When I try to connect to WiFi it tries to connect but it doesn't connect with my router. I tried every key type but with no result.

Your wifi router is wireless 'N' type?
If so, you will have to search the forums how to enable Wireless N WiFi network on your HD2

The fastest way to find out is to go to a local Starbucks etc who have free wifi, and see if it connects, if it does then its your home wifi router key that needs to be sorted out? I use WEP for my wifi and an easy key that i remember. Give it a try, or ask your fiends that have wifi to try and test on there system...
Or if you did set your wifi router on "N" then reset it back to auto mode to get your mobile working.

try to get really close to the router, like 1 foot away, and see if it connects, if that is the case, your antenna has come loose and you need to send it back to get it fixed.

Yes I have the same issues, but he is working on another build right now. I am sure they are working hard.
You do not need a app for this. Go to Settings<Wireless & Networks<Tethering &portable hotspot<and then select USB tethering or Portable WI-FI hotspot.
I use this ROM and I use the Portable WI-Fi hotspot like all the time.

i already found the settings, but when i try it into my laptop, it can't connect into my android. connected but, not to the internet.
do you have any setting that i miss out.?

In that case then I think you either don't have the correct drivers for your HD2 to connect in this way which is a easy fix. Just go to control panel while you have your HD2 connected via USB and with the Tethering on. Then go to device manager and find your HD2 there, you will know it when you see it, then click on it. This will make it drop down then right click on the dropped down device icon and select update drivers and then get from internet.
If this is not the problem open ActiveSynce or WMDC on your computer and uncheck allow USB connections and see if that helps.
For me, it works with my iphone but not working with my Mac Book.
I had the same issue, just yesterday I found a fix the WiFi tether app(wifi tether 3.0-pre11.apk) the older WiFi tether apk files did not work correctly. The on-board WiFi works great. You will know when you get the right file, the icon color changed from green to yellow. I have been testing this out for about an hour now and all is good...
Also I can receive e-mails when I am tethering via the on-board WiFi or tethering app, but I can not send them. Does anybody know why this is. This is the same with all ROMS, so nothing to with the ROM (which is great) ...Any ideas on how to fix this settings issue...Thanks
So after sucessfully flashing my HD2 to WP7, and obtaining a 25 digit activation code for Live Services, I go to turn it all on and it refuses to connect with my Wi-fi. All it says is "Your phone couldn't reach the Wi-Fi network wireless". I used to hape WPA, but i took it off so that maybe it would connect. But it didn't work. I even disabled the firewall, and the mac filter list.
My router is a Westel Model 327W (Provided by my ISP).
I currently have this rom installed. This is the second one I've had, the first one was the first one that was ever available, idk what it's called or where I can link to it.
Please help me! I can't get data, so Wi-Fi is my only option for internet! Which is my only option for installing apps! And its not working!
UPDATE:
So i walked down the street and tried to access 3 different Unsecured Wi-Fi access points (all of which I could connect to on my iPod Touch) and for each one it said "Your phone couldn't reach the Wi-Fi network ______". So now I know that the problem isn't in my internet.
Please help! I have no idea what to do!

Reflash the rom with maglrd, but have you wifi router switched off. once the rom is loaded, look into the wifi settings and see if you see other wifi pick ups.. Now switch on your wifi router. Do you now see your own wifi address! I had a similar problem, but that fixed for me, but also choose wep instead of wap.
C how you get on.

well i could always see my wifi access point, the problem is that i couldn't connect. but i will try this and see if it works. thanks for the advice!

i tried that and i didn't work... i used wifi on windows mobile and it worked perfectly... but on WP7 it still wont work...

Go to settings/about/and click more infomation. Can you see your mac address? 00-18-41-etc etc?

Just need a little help, rooted a500 with TegraOwners ICS v164, have made an Ad-Hoc network with my windows 7 laptop, trying to share the 3g dongle i use with the laptop so that i can use the internet on my tablet. Just every time i try to connect to the ad-hoc network (the tab see's it fine) i just get stuck in a look "connecting" -> "Obtaining IP address" -> "Disconnecting" this looks forever..... Any Idea's? I have firewall in 7 turned off, didnt do anything, tried making a static it says its connected but no internet and i cant ping the tablet from the laptop so i guess it isnt really connected...
2, Since i cant get internet on the tab i cant install ES or Astro so i cant install any .apk is there a way to do this that i dont know about, or install them from pc vis USB??

Why can't you just use the dongle in your tablet? As far as I know, that tegra rom is supposed to work with several different dongles?
Also, do you have the correct wpa-supplicant file on your tab for ad-hoc?
have the e353 and it doesnt work with android i have the wpa file that comes with the tegraowners v164 rom, anyone direct me to the one for the iconia.
