The call info is always there at top of screen in notification area, pull down and click on call icon

Or just open the phone app? Honestly what did you actually try before posting this? Lol. Maybe I'm missing what you are asking.

I know A LOT of people know this.. you can slide your finger accross the notification bar to set the screen brightness when auto brightness is turned off.
Well something I found out today.. you don't slide at all.. you can.. but you just got to pick a spot on the notification bar and long press. So you want it at 50%, long press in the middle.
This is a lot better too... more sensitive.

I didn't know either of these features so thanks for this post

Works for me on PWGB beta 3. This is why I like Android so much, the hidden little tricks and short cuts.
just the old trick. I find this tip potential more than 2 months ago on youtube

Is there anything I can do about the LED notification location on the Arc?
(I can never tell if I get messages or anything)
Yes. Look at the phone in sideways .
Come on... It's by design, what do you really want to do?

There's a way for notifications with the back light buttons.
I've never tried it, but some users reported that it works.
Search here, don't remember the thread.

Use no led to notify but check it works with kernel
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
just use an app to make led stay on whole time until notification removed.
I use "light flow" to make the led by the hardware bottoms light up on a SMS or a missed call.

Is there a way like on s3 to ger volume to silent by pressing volume keys? It only gets me to vibrate then have to turn vibrate off on menu
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
This feature was present in the original note but it seems it's been removed in the note 2. An alternative way which you may be interested in is simply by holding the power button and selecting mute.
Hope that helps.
Cheers for that. Its a real shame thats been taken away.

Indeed it was useful when on the go, muting the phone within your pocket without having to look at it. I'm sure some application out there could reinstate this.
Yeah I miss that feature as well, too bad it got removed

Aww it doesn't have this? wth are they thinking... where do you turn off the vibrate? all the way in settings? or in the pull-down notification menu? Thanks.

Anyone know of a few good ones out there? I've tried a few but they didn't seem to work. I'm tired of the ugly message box when I get a text etc.

That's one of the ones I tried but it was weird. It would notify me of missed calls but I would still get the stock SMS notification (yellow box) also, the missed calls would only clear from my lock screen if I pulled down my notification bar. I'll give it another shot.

I just tried this one. I added email, missed calls and SMS but I'm still getting the stock text message notification. It is showing me email though.

I was able to get the dash clock one to work but how do I make it my default lock screen? Every time I lock my phone it goes back to the stock lock screen. When I long press the lock screen I can cycle between the 2 lock screens but I can't "trash" the stock one like I can the dash clock one. I also can't change the order of them. I though maybe if I placed the dash clock in front of the stock it would set as default...no dice.

Move the dash clock one all the way to the right.

You can try Knock2+ It's very similar to Active Display.

what rom are you on? if there is an option in the lockscreen settings to use aosp or touchwiz lockscreen choose touchwiz and on your lockscreen touch and hold the clock you want to remove and remove it. click the plus sign symbol and add dashclock. go into your messaging app, go into settings and uncheck the option to "preview message". that should fix your problem
I used lockerpro lock screen it works really good. Also used dynamic notifications its simple and just like the moto x active notifications. I don't use anything anymore just stock light notification.

I'm having some issues with this, and thought maybe I'm not the only one.
Whenever my phone untouched or I'm reading something or whatever the screen fades because I'm not touching it. Then the little eye icon appears in the status bar.
Does this icon mean it's looking for my eyes or that it's currently tracking them?
Because regardless if I'm looking at the screen or not it turns the screen off shortly after that.

I am seeing the same behavior, but I would like for it to work. Will check around for possible solutions/ideas.
