Facebook video chat. - Acer Iconia A500

Is there any way to get Facebook video chat to work on the a500?
Also is the reason it doesn't work because there isn't video for the a500 on skype?

Does facebook have video chat?

I think this might be what he is talking about, its not supported by chromium

Yeah if you view in desktop you can almost get it to work but it doesnt download the needed file.
Do you think it will be supported in the future?

Well from what I gathered (I use linux) its using the Skype API. I did open firefox and got it all the way to setup but the DL is a windows exe so I would wager no. At least not until video is working in Skype for Android.

Any video conferencing / video chat software available??

is there any software available for the m5000/universal that lets you use the in-built video camera over an internet connection to see other m5000 users? like a video version of Skype??
I am very interested as well in a videochat app that uses Wifi. Any news on this?
I'm also curious, why does MSN Messenger and Skype for Pocket PC not utilise at least Audio, let alone video!?
I've not found any software yet. microsoft portrait came close but didn't allow you to use the m5000's built in camera.
ideally, msn messenger or skype is the way forward. from a business point of view video chat over the internet would be a big advantage.
Definitely! What a great industry in which to hacve the ability to program, if I were able to develop apps for the Pocket PC I'd be developing this right now ;o)

Webcam software + streaming on your 8525?

Searched around a bit and tried countless peices of webcam software but haven't found anything quite like what I would like yet.
I have a microsoft webcam hooked to my pc. I would like to run some webcam software on my pc that makes a streaming video file that I can open from my 8525 streaming video player.
If I could stream this video file from my PC to my linux webserver and then connect to my linux webserver from a webpage or from my 8525 to stream the video that would be even better.
Anyone seen anything like this?
I use this... Trackercam. I'm able to use any browser and view the webcam at home... haven't tested it on a ppc browser but theoretically it should work as long as you have a decent connection.

Oh, and it's FREE.
There's a program called dorgem (http://dorgem.sf.net I think) that runs a webcam (so it might not be exactly what you wanted, but it might be less hassel). It doesn't exactly do streaming video, but it can upload an image via ftp or HTTP POST and refresh every few seconds if required. It can also run a local HTTP Daemon which allows you to access the image on request (using PHP or similar).
Also free, but doesn't include the base control stuff that TrackerCam's software does (although you could consider that a good thing).
look for WebCamPlus .. www.ateksoft.com
Orb does the job, leave it running on your PC and with Version 2.0 you can view webcams hooked up to the PC.

video call

Hi!
Just wondering if there exist any application that can grab the video input from the camera and stream it to the internet?
Thanks!
http://qik.com/ - QIK has a new Windows Mobile Beta
http://kyle.tv/ - Java Client for streaming - I haven't tried this yet, but I installed it this morning.

Qik, I don't get it.

So I finally tried this much advertised feature and I don't see the difference between Qik and immediately uploading to YouTube. Am I missing something? It could just be that I don't need this feature so I don't see Qik's value--yet.
What exactly is Qik supposed to allow me to do that YouTube cannot?
Thanks

make sure you up date the qik program thru the market. it allows you to do video chat
And it will act as a live webcam.

Video Teleconferencing Apps?

Does Qik app work on the Adam?
What other video teleconferencing apps you guys use or plan on using on your Adam?
Yahoo, Tango, Skype, Fring...
I guess I will start a user contact/screen name thread soon for testing and keep'in in touch.

currently skype is no longer supporting video calling from android (fring used to offer skype video chat, but then skype got mad at them and pulled the plug after the Evo launched. well that is the short of it...) I have not gotten to test fring video chatting on my Evo, as no one else I know has a phone capable of video chat (requires a front facing camera), wait, scratch that, one of my friends just bought the Evo, but we have not tested it yet.
Yahoo Video Calling works on Adam
I can confirm that Yahoo messenger works with the Adam. I did experience some strange issue with video being rotated no matter what position I held the Adam or rotated the camera to.
Sipdroid apparently supports video chat, but have not been able to test it as I don't have a front facing camera device (yet).
