[HELP]broken rom - Click General

Hello everyone,
I desperately need help.
Today while I was changing rom I made a mistake and now I can not use the adb shell and the recovery mode.
When I start my phone stops on black screen "Htc Tattoo".
If i try to run shell it give this error:
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -
If i run the recovery mode it show me the official recovery mode and not my "old" clockwork 3.0.0.5
I try to download the official rom and try to do a "apply sdcard: update.zip" but don't work.
how can I reset my tattoo in these conditions? thanks

Sorry how i can do it?
I think i can't flash rom beacuse the recovery mode is the pre installed, not the clockwork
please help!

Download stock rom and flash it from windows. You will need Rom http://htcpedia.com/official_rom_htc_wwe_for_htc_click_tatoo/soft/htc-tattoo-rom and HTC Sync http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=933&news_id=759
First instal HTC Sync than run ROM exe file and follow on screen instructions.

i have tried but it tell me that the battery is under 30% and it's not true... i'm sure that is 100% charged.
However i have a nandroid backup... can i restore it witout shell and recovery?

damn there is a method to restore the system? I just need the shell

I am using mainfram3's modded recovery. I can boot into recovery
Good.
I am going to assume that you have also flashed a custom boot image. If not reply back and I shall let you know how.
Follow these steps, and you may just be able to get back your phone from the dead.
1. download the custom rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=643368
2. once your phone gets to recovery mode, you can use the adb commands. So, get to recovery mode.
3. do "adb shell"
4. Inside the shell, do mount /sdcard
5. exit the shell.
6. the rom you have downloaded now needs to be send to the sdcard. Use the command adb push <the rom you downloaded.zip> /sdcard/update.zip
7. Once the adb push command completes, press the home and call end buttons. You will get a menu.
8. choose "apply update from sdcard"
9. Once the update completes, execute the command adb reboot.
10. The phone will reboot and spring back to life.
Note that these steps worked for me and there is no guarantee that it would work for you. I can hope that it works for you !!

If you don't do a GoldCard, your tattoo is dead.
That's the problem. Since I cannot use adb (device not found), I cannot get the CID to create the goldcard. Any clues?
If you can get access to someone else's phone to get the SD card's CID, you can make a goldcard, but otherwise you are SOL.
I've been able to create a goldcard following the instructions on this site (I've been able to get the microSD CID using windows mobile and QMAT, it has an option to read the CID from a WinCE phone that is connected with activesync), but no look so far. When I try to apply the update.zip file in the SD card, it says that the signature is missing and that the verification has failed.
Any ideas?
Got it to start uploading the ROM, but if fails with error 131 (invalid CID)
Sucess!! My phone is back from the dead! I've been able (at last) to create a goldcard using a win mobile phone (Touch) and QMAT. Here're the steps if anyone needs to create a goldcard when your android phone is bricked, but you have a win mobile phone available:
1- Insert the microSD card in the win mobile phone and power it up (the one that came with the Tattoo works fine)
2- Connect the win mobile phone to your computer. ActiveSync must be installed and working
3- Start QMAT and select "Hardware Forensics->WINCE SD Card Utils"
4- Hit the "Get SD Serial and Disk ID" button.
5- Copy (or write down) the serial you get in the "SD Card Serial" box. Close QMAT and remove the microSD card from the win mobile phone (at this point, you don't need the win mobile phone anymore)
6- NO NEED TO REVERSE THE SERIAL!!! This is what I was doing wrong.
7. Go to "http://revskills.de/pages/goldcard.html" and enter the serial number you got from QMAT and fill out all the required fields
8- Wait for the goldcard image to arrive to your e-mail
9- Follow the instructions to copy (in other posts) the goldcard image to the microSD card using a hex editor
10- Insert the microSD card in your bricked phone connect it to your computer and press vol down and power at the same time. Choose fastboot from the menu (back button)
11- Launch the RUU program from your computer (RUU_Click_HTC_WWE_1.67.405.6_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver) works fine
12- Follow the instructions on the screen. Your phone should be back from the dead

Pre-Rooted HTC, flashed new custom recovery. Cannot boot into.

Hi Guys,
A while ago I used the flashrec app to flash a custom recovery on my unlocked hero which worked well. I'd been using this for ages to flash custom rooted roms etc onto my device.
Today I decided to update the recovery rom to recovery-ra-hero-v1.6.2.img by terminal emulator. (su, flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-ra-hero-v1.6.2.img). This didn't work! When I try and enter recovery mode (hold down HOME whilst booting), it freezes.
I can still get into my rooted rom, and it still appears via adb, but I cannot flash any custom recoveries! When I try to flash via adb I get the wonderful 'downloading 'boot.img'... FAILED (remote: not allow)' error.
Any idea how I can flash the recovery?
Cheers,
Matt
Have you tried using Flashrec again?

5. Download this APK and recovery image and save it to your computer:
http://zenthought.org/content/project/flashrec - FlashRec.apk
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561124 - Amon_Ra’s Hero Recovery Image
6. Copy them both to your SD card (do NOT put them inside any folders on the SD card, just put them on the SD card itself).
7. Unplug the phone from the computer once they are downloaded to the SD card.
8. Go to the Market and download ASTRO File Manager or any file manager program if you do not already have one.
9. Open the file manager and find the FlashRec apk file and click it and choose open app manager and then install it.
10. When it is installed click Open. Click on Backup Recovery Image and wait for it to finish. If you get "backup failed" response see the text on the right for more details, if the backup is a success carry on to step 11.
a. Installing the correct HTC ROM
Orange UK Users - Please downgrade your ROM version to 2.73.61.5
Generic Hero Users - Please downgrade to 2.73.405.5, or follow the goldcard method if this doesn't work
T-Mobile UK Users – Please follow the "Goldcard" method below
All Other Users - Please follow the "Goldcard" method below
11. Once done, click on the empty text box in the FlashRec program and type:
/sdcard/recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img
(replace exact name as new versions come out)
Then click on the Flash Recovery Image button and wait for it to finish.

I have yes, forgot to say in OP - sorry! It gives the generic 'flashing failed' message.
I think I've narrowed it down to my running hboot 1.76.0007. Am I right in thinking this version doesn't allow non-htc images to be booted?
I wouldn't know about the hboot stuff sorry...
... But I did once read that an older version of Flashrec worked where the latest did not,... worth a try?
http://code.google.com/p/flashrec/downloads/detail?name=flashrec-1.1.2-20090909.apk
Same error - backup failed: could not run command.
I have a android backup which should include the previous recovery image. Is there any way of restoring that from a terminal in the rom or via adb?
I don't think a Nandroid backup covers the recovery... and I wouldn't know about restoring it through adb.
Only other things I can think of are,...
1... Find out how to update recovery through fastboot? ( I once looked into this but dint get v-far)
2... Run a HTC RUU .exe and start from scratch.
I'd go option 2 for ease, 1 if you want to educate yourself.
I think I've already tried number 1 - "fastboot flash recovery recovery-ra-hero-v1.6.2.img" and got an error: "remote does not allow".
Looks like I'm going to have to go down the RUU route. Hopefully I'll be able to restore a recent nandroid backup once it's complete!
Thanks for your help!

Here is commands, but can you see your device in adb when connected with usb. Can your phone get to the fastboot screen, I think it is power+vol down button.
Here is the commands you should try:
Via adb:
adb shell
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
via fastboot menu as indicated:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Note: You should put the recovery.img in your root folder of the sd card(That is your main menu in your sd card). Also replace "recovery.img" with the name of the recovery img you want to install. The adb commands should be done with phone on as normal but connected to usb.
Example: flash_image recovery /sdcard/Maverix2b.img
Good luck.

[Q] Problems installing recovery image on 3.32.405.2

I have rooted using the androot method and all went well. superuser.apk is installed etc..
But trying to install the Recovery Image is giving me grief. I think the problem may be the fact that I have version 3.32.405.2?
One method requires installing BusyBox and then installing Rom Manager which allows you to flash the recovery image.. BusyBox installation fails..
Another method requires Terminal Emulator and the command
"flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img"
But this also fails with a "missing flash_image" error
Any ideas?
Is it possible to return to an older firmware using an official HTC RUU?
Thanks!
HTC Hero stopped a white screen and wont start
I connect my phone HTC Hero by wi-fi and a update was made to version 3.32.405. When the phone reboot it´s stopped in a white screen HTC.
I have try everything; Soft reset; Can´t work with the HEROIMG.IMG, give me failed. Also with the ruu 2.73.405 from htc; and i can´t do nothing with adb.
Fastboot devices give me de SN, but more then that give me "not allow".
I have install HTC sync, and usb is functional.
I don´t have a way to start my phone.
What can i do to reinstall the system?
try Home + Down to access the bootloader, try to fastboot or recovery and flash the rom again

Hello,
I've rooted my device and installed the hellfire Kitkat rom. Since I was not fully satisfied I wanted to go back to stock rom and then install the latest update from LG.
But now the device only boots into recovery (CWM V6.0.4.7)
I can install a backup ROM but when I reboot it enters recovery again.
I tried entering download mode by pressing "volume UP key" and then plugin usb but it enters recovery again.
Can someone help me please?!

I'm going to be cautious replying here because I'm a noob, but did you try using ADB to issue commands through adb sideload in cwm? If you go to "load zip" (or something along those lines) then "load using adb" (or something similar) in CWM, you can use adb to issue these commands with your computer and it should fix it (at least, it fixed a boot loop for me when I was stuck with TWRP). Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
First of all. DON'T PANIC!
And even before that - make a nandroid backup! Go in CWM and make a full backup.
You have recovery working so you should be able to load System on it ok.
I am not an expert but let me try to guide you step by step.
1. Make a backup!
2. Download a rom on your computer. MAKE SURE ITS FOR YOUR MODEL # of LG G2
List of roms here:
3. Make sure you have over 70% battery
4. Go into recovery CWM
5. Use Wipe > Swipe to Factory Wipe
(go back on bottom right corner)
6. Go Advanced from HOME screen of CWM
7. Click ADB sideload
7b. (I assume you have the drivers loaded. If not make sure ADB is loaded in windows and device manager shows it. Download basic ADB package so you have "adb.exe" file in it)
8. put your rom in the same folder where you have "Adb.exe"
9. Open command prompt on windows. Goto the folder where ADB.exe is. Then Type "adb push (filename) /sdcard/(filename)". Example, "adb push rom.zip /sdcard/rom.zip"
10. Wait until it finishes its transfer(a message will appear saying the filename, file size and the speed of the transfer per sec when it finishes)
11. Wait for a while or reboot your cwm so that the filename will appear
12. just reflash the file in CWM (Install > choose file). Wipe after again.
13. Voila!
By any chance did you successfully go back to stock 4.2.2 and then took the OTA and then got the recovery loop? If so this will help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696

Basically what you need is a root shell whether it's via adb or built into recovery (cwm or twrp)
Searching the forum for "cwm bootloop ota" might give you detailed instructions for your case
