Hi,
Are there any native IPSec (not L2TP) implementations on the Android platform? If not, how hard would it be to develop a native IPSec client? Would it require kernel/framework modifications? AFAIK the Linux kernel has supported native IPSec for quite a while, but Androids VPN settings don't have such an option.
Thanks.
Anyone ?

Hi,
does WindowsMobile provide something, that can be used/configured to have IPsec VPN? Not that L2TP Stuff? I know from WinXP that it comes along with native IPsec support but that it's not configurable directly throu Windows.
Open Source tools like TaoVPN provide Front-End for that stuff.
Thanx

...is it even possible? I'm running the latest NRG ROM on my Touch Pro 2, but I can still only find the "connections" applet to setup a VPN connection. The only choices are PPTP and IPSEC/L2TP.
Is there any way to establish an SSL VPN (SSTP) connection with WM6.5?
Thanks in advance.
You need your VPN gateway's vendor SSL client, such as Cisco AnyConnect Mobile. There's no native support for SSL VPN in Wm6.5.

This is just something I'm running on my own domain. I have no Cisco equipment.
I'm thinking it'll just be easier to set up IPSEC/L2TP in addition to my SSL VPN. I was hoping not to, though....
Hi
I know Android has its own built-in VPN client but I would like to create my own VPN client to connect to our VPN server as I would like to add an extra layer of security on it. Can anyone help me out please?
Maybe just some guide on how to create a VPN profile using the built-in Android client programmatically (of course without accessing the hidden API) or something equivalent? Specifically I want to create a VPN profile with IPSec Xauth RSA Authentication.
Are there any known-to-work out-of-the -box Android TV devices that can use VPN with PPTP MPPE?
So far I have tried Firestick and Nvidia Shield, but neither of them have the part of Android OS that allows for internal VPN support like a Cell Phone does.
Please note, OpenVPN is not an option as it does not support PPTP MPPE so it cannot connect to any of our existing media servers.
For anyone getting ready to type a message saying how much better OpenVPN is and how unsecure MPPE is, please know that we already know this.
The servers are strictly used as pass-through video feeders and there is nothing that needs to be secured at all.
Changing them over to OpenVPN would slow them down too much (we already tried that) and OpenVPN does not support Local IP addressing for remote devices. (i.e. making a Remote Connection look like it's local to the server)
All we need is just plain old PPTP MPPE VPN on a Android device that can run Plex and supports a Remote Control .... seems simple enough.
Ideas?
